👍👍 Nice beach, but usually for Town of Babylon residents except on special occasions like the annual kite festival which was very nice. Small parking lot so it fills up quickly, get there early. Beach is only a couple of steps away from the parking lot which is great. The ocean is very close as well.

😐 Legend has it, during the 1860’s a great fisherman / clammer named Gill Burch lived by where Gilgo beach is now. He was so great that if you wanted a good catch, you go where “Gill goes”. And so, the beach was named Gil-go.

👍👍 Love it beisdes the kids coming thru going 40 mph past kids playing......last weekend they kept getting stuck on the narrowest part of the beach during high tide.....but yeah get there early or dont....enjoy!
