Emerson Point Outstanding Florida Water
Nature preserve
👍👍 One of the most beautiful natural spots in Florida. It is patrolled by helpful rangers, who probably need to stop occasionally and pull up the easily discoverable exotic invasives. Good job on the Brazialian pepper...not so much on the variagated Philadentron vine.

👍👍 Went hiking there today with my wife. It is an easy and awesome 1 mile walk, if you decide to walk around it. It has shorter trails that are just as fun. The restrooms are clean and the exhibit inside the house is interesting. De Soto National Memorial park is here too

👍👍 There’s two trails here. All trails map is a combination of the two. Both trails are marked if you pay attention. Only a very small part of the trail near the road is overgrown. I made it through no problem (just watch out for spiders web.) Most of the trail is nicely paved. There are benches along...

😠 Went for a run here today because it is listed as having a 1.6 mile loop and has good reviews. If you are looking for a trail to run or walk, DO NOT GO HERE!! There is no loop, just a shell trail that runs right alongside 301. It’s noisy, horribly littered with trash and has homeless people sleeping...

😠 Very short...Still waiting on trail expansion. Only about 10% of preserve is accessible so far. Edit 11/2021: Such a waste of what could be a beautiful park. Park goes all the way to the bay but there are still no trails years later. Instead its become a poorly maintained homeless hangout.
