South Kaibab Trailhead
Hiking area
ππ Went down to Cedar Ridge, took about an hour and a half on account of making multiple stops to take photos. It was wise to start around 9am, there was shade for a lot of the hike and didnβt get too hot in the canyon. Many people stopped at Ooh Aah but I think it was worth the extra distance to go...

Grand Canyon
Tourist attraction
ππ Do yourselves a favor and go at 545am or not at all. Of all the places to see this park is the most off putting when it comes to the amount of human activity. Still five stars because the NPS and all the hard work that goes into this service provided to us is always amazing and such a quintessential...

Cedar Ridge
Hiking area
ππ Cedar Ridge was a great place to rest on our Grand Canyon hike. There were restrooms here and great views. It is about 5% of the way down to the Ranch at the bottom of the canyon. Rest under the shade of the tree before you start your way back to the top. Remember, there are no rescues in the Grand...

El Cristo Rey Catholic Church
Catholic church
ππ Love this little church in the Grand Canyon National Park. Father Raphael is a very friendly priest who has lived there 7 or 8 years. Wild deer roam right outside the building and it's a nice, peaceful experience. Don't have to drive long distances to find church services.

The Tipoff
Hiking area
ππ The hike from Skeleton Point to the Tipoff was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever been on. The views in this section of the park are absolutely incredible and take your breath away. Unfortunately, you're gonna need your breath if you decide to hike here, because although t...

Horn Creek Camp
Campground
π This is a small campground with room for 6 or so tents. There is adequate shade for hot days. The Tonto Trail goes directly through the campsite so expect some interruptions. We were there after a fairly good monsoon season and there were just some puddles of water. Don't drink any water from th...

Shoshone Point Trailhead
Hiking area
ππ I found this trail on AllTrails and we did it as a family of four with a five and seven year old. I think it took us two hours round-trip, but thatβs because we stayed at the view point for awhile and also because of the snow. When we went, there was still 2 feet of snow. The trail was mostly packed...

Hermit Trailhead
Hiking area
π Hermit's hiking trail is a tough one. Not to be compared with, for example, "Bright Angel". The path, if you can even call it a path, is sometimes very steep and you have to climb over one or two rocks. Apparently there is no drinking water along the way. There are only a few hikers here.
