I needed an urgent appointment. Came all the way across the city via OC Transpo. I had to book off work. Called to inform them I was running late. They assured me it would probably be okay. They were not sympathetic -when I arrived they refused to see me. I was 12 minutes late. They said if I was 10 minutes late it would have been fine. I guess this is why the small businesses that treat you like a human are booked months in advance :( Update: I managed to get an appointment at the Place d’Orleans location (same company and management) a few days later. Made sure I arrived in time due to the company’s strict late policy. I was not seen until 37 minutes after my appointment started. Other than that the staff was helpful and kind. Just keep in mind this company’s policies value their own time more than yours.

The customer service is nice. But the doctor seems a kind of not so professional(maybe just too busy). I brought my kid to this place today, as his left eye is a little bit nearsighted, which we found it yesterday. They asked for $65 as compulsory fee for retina exam. We don't really care about the money, although the other places are free for kids. The problem is the doctor didn't do the Dilated Eye Exam even we emphasized that we wanted to check the kid's vision problem. We realized that after we returned home. Now we have to pay another $115 to do the test :( Follow up: Katrerine explained everything for me, it is a miscommunication. Fast reply and great help, I think they really care their customers. Recommend!

Appointment was quick; on time and thorough. However was asked to return for a second appointment in approx. 6 months because of possible Glaucoma issues. Received only a brief expaination to testing results

I love this place so much! It's clear they really genuinely care about you and take the time to make sure the long term health of your eyes is being taken care of. They don't rush you out like so many places, but they take time to make sure you understand everything and answer any questions you have. They also take Covid very seriously, keep everything super clean, and keep you separate from other customers. They're the best of the best!

Dr. Crystal Chan is wonderful. She is professional, knowledgeable and has always ensured that I understood every issue that arose over several years. The manager at the Rideau Centre is less so. At my visit in May 2023 I refused the usual tests (field of vision etc) because I had had an appointment with my eye specialist 2 days earlier. I explained my diagnosis and my severe sensitivity to light. The store manager told me she would allow me to see Dr. Chan but my prescription would only be good for 2 days. . I asked to speak with the manager she said she was the manager and I would have to deal with her and she wouldn't change her mind period. My script was good for 1 month only. Now as my vision continues to change I will find another optometrist, one where I will be treated with respect and consideration for an existing condition that impacts my vision.

Dr Crystal Chan was amazing! Best experience that I've ever had with an eye doctor. Next time I won't wait 10 years to come back in .

Receptionists are so friendly! This was my first time booking an eye exam and the receptionists were so helpful with my insurance. Very efficient team.

We went to see Dr. Somya Dixit at the Rideau Centre location of Rideau Optometric and it was a great experience! She was amazing with my 2.5 year old. Very pleasant and engaging. He was shy, but got through the test well. Dr. Dixit was cognizant to modify the test for a child his age and used graphics instead of letters to assess his eyesight. My husband and I also had our eyes checked and everything went smoothly. The clinic is located inside the LensCrafters at the Rideau Centre and is well maintained and is great as a one stop shop. We will definitely continue to go there to see Dr. Dixit!

My experience at Rideau Optometric has always been excellent for several years and several reason, the staff is very friendly and helpful and I only have great things to say about Dr. Butler, he is very professional, he takes his time, he explains everything really well and even made a recommendation to what type of eye glasses I should purchase for work at my last appointment, which I just love. I would recommend this clinic anytime !

Had a great experience here for my eye exam. They were very efficient with all their testing and examinations, and thoroughly cleaned all equipment before and after each patient. Dr. Dixit was very knowledgeable and kind! Would recommend this clinic, and Dr. Dixit in particular.

I took my (now) 4 year old daughter to her first appointment with Dr. Chan at the St Laurent center last year and she was so awesome I was a little disappointed when we returned this year and she wasn't at that location, but Dr. Butler was just as great!! He made it really enjoyable for my daughter (and me!) I would recommend either of those two to anyone, but especially anyone with kids. They're super friendly, approachable, and dare I say cool. Not your typical doctors! :) UPDATE: My daughter's now 8 and we make the commute to whichever location Dr. Butler is at. Still just as great as when we wrote this 3-4 years ago.

This office accommodated me for an urgent appointment when I forgot all my prescription lenses while traveling. Their office was friendly and efficient, and I left with some new knowledge about my eye care as well. It was a bonus to be able to buy glasses the same day at the adjacent Lens Crafters! A terrific experience.

I have been going to this clinic for several years, and for a good reason! Dr. Crystal Chan and her team are the definition of professionalism, care and kindness. I feel well taken care of in their hands, and they always find a way to squeeze me in should I require an urgent appointment. Huge thank you to everyone in this clinic.

I was treated by a young female optometrist. she asked me to use eye drops but it didn't stop my pain. Fortunatlly I tried another optometric clinic and they gave me FML and it cured me.

Making a 3 year old wear a mask that does. It want to wear one is unacceptable. I highly suggest not using their services

Lats time I needed an eye appointment I saw Dr. Dixit at Rideau Optmetric. It was a great experience and the new prescription was perfect - I don't know how I was getting around with my old glasses!

Very professional, clean and felt very safe with their covid protocols! My doctor Crystal was very friendly and a great help with all my questions. Reception staff was great as well. Would definitely recommend for getting an eye exam!

The Best staff I've encountered. Not grumpy or unprofessional like going to the dentist. Lovely staff, and clinic. Too bad they are were fully booked, but I can see why, I look forward to a future appointment.

Dr. Butler is excellent with children and adults. We have seen him regularly for the past 6 years, and he and his team are professional, kind, incredibly patient with young kids. Best of all, Dr. Butler takes the time to help us understand our eye health instead of simply prescribing solutions. We highly recommend him and his team!

Very professional and friendly staff. Dr. Dixit was my optometrist and she is clearly comfortable with patient assessments and management. They are a knowledgeable and competent group who look out for the safety and care of their patients. Location is great and the clinic is organized and clean. I plan to continue going to this location for all my eye care needs.
