I am not putting 4 or 5 stars to this place for 2 reasons. 1) We arrived at 10:30 pm and the kitchen was already closed which is unfortunate. 2) We had the option of having a drink, but unfortunately we can ONLY have alcoholic drinks (we do not drink alcohol). Even though the view is magnificent, we couldnt enjoy it.

The worst dinning experience ever We ordered fish fillet and steak, which was ok. But the mixed grill was horrible and disgusting. Two people - one fish fillet and one small steak One orange juice and one cocktail. And one mixed grill. Total bill amount 1475 TL. I am not complaining the price is high, my point is the quality of food is not worth the money. According to my experience, that level of quality of food can only be worth 400TL. I swear to God. This restaurant is in my blacklist now. My day was completely ruined.

There is too much to say about this place. Where should I start? The location is fantastic. The view on the mosque and the bridge is breathtaking. A must visit location for a cocktail or enjoying the dinner. The staff is amazing and very accommodating. The location is not very big, perhaps 50-70 seat's but this makes it very warm with a fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic wines from a large glass cellar. When we were there on Wednesday evening, it was fully booked, including a DJ in the outside area that added great music and a lot of smiles to the people. The chef and his staff make amazing food for a very reasonable price. Asian Turkish cuisine with great flavours by using Turksihlsh ingredients with a story and surprising combinations. The menu has something for everybody. Fish, meat, vegetarian. Mixed starters, sushi plates, everybody will find a dish he-she likes. Thank you Hakan for inviting us to this lovely place. Next May in will I will come back with my Dutch friends to enjoy a cocktail and the fantastic view. I think one of the best places I ever had dinner. Thanks Emre for the hospitality.

Newly arrived in the area and was looking for somewhere to sit with a view - absolutely perfect here! Friendly staff, good service, great drink choice, fresh and tasty gin cocktail, and fantastic view. Will definitely return.

There’s very nice view from the terrace but the kitchen is quite primitive. Suitable for big funny companies when you don’t care about quality of food. A few days ago visited this restaurant and took some rolls and sushi. It was too much smoked and looked like two days old)) The rest of the dishes were the same quality… But view is very good!) I guess they are not worrying about quality of food because it’s suitable for local people and restaurant was fully booked every night… IMHO

The bar and the view is the probably the best in Ortakoy. The food is also very good!

Wonderful setting, attentive service (almost over the top) and tasty food. Some of it was a bit rich and the paired cocktails were too sweet.

Lovely place! We really struggled finding nice dining in Istanbul as most of the places seems a bit dubious. But this place really changed our opinion about dining in Turkey. Amazing place. Every bite you took gave you lots of different flavours and aromas amazing experience. The views were breath taking. Very good service as well and we really felt taken care of. Every aspect of banyan was fenomenal. Wills highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant. Asian inspired menu providing a good & delicious choice of dishes. Service was top notch. The tables are a little too close from each other and the restaurant tends to be noisy. Maybe not the best place for a date night.

Banyan Restaurant makes you feel like you are on the Bosphorus. The rooftop view across the Bosphorus is amazing. Great view of the Bosphorus Bridge along with the beautiful Ortakoy mosque built in the mid 1800's. The food is excellent and the new 2023 menu is going to be wild. The staff is very courteous and helpful. After dinner sit at the bar and enjoy great drinks and view. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation.

Had very nice experience here. Price/Quality is very good. You pay a little more bit it is defently worth it. Also credits to the chef for giving suggestions very kind👍👍

We had two starters and main dishes. It was delicious. Service and atmosphere are perfect in this restaurant. It was so great that we moved after dinner to the bar to have some more cocktails. Can fully recommend and will definitely go there soon again.

We went to Banyan restaurant for the last night of our holiday and trip to Istanbul. The restaurant has amazing views and lovely atmosphere. The service was perfect. Selen was our server and was great and looked after us. The food was perfect, the matcha tiramisu was to die for!

Amazing place with great views, amazing drink options, and fantastic food. I loved my Big Boy sushi, the corn 3 way was amazing, and I enjoyed the spicy crab salad. Will definitely come back again while in Istanbul

The manager was incredibly rude. I had a business meeting here and I was talked down to until the rest of my party showed up. The food is ok not great the waiters are incredibly slow. Took them 40 min to get me water. The manager is the worst, however. I don’t know how he got hired at this restaurant but he is a piece of work. I got yelled at for telling them they gave me the wrong order. Which they did. They came back and told me they gave my order to the wrong table. I don’t know how this place has high reviews. It’s a lovely location but desperately in need of better staff.

We had our wedding anniversary dinner here. Everything’s wonderful: the attentive service, the food, the view. My only complaint is the smell: there was a whiff of cheap fragrance everywhere, from service hot towels to the bathroom. And the bar area allows smoking too. Please consider doing something. Otherwise a perfect experience.

Our 3rd time here - we always reserve each time we come to istanbul. It’s a gem! Incredible food, fantastic relaxed atmosphere and that view…! We took the surprise 2 chef pairing menu, which was perfectly described by our super waiter Emre, who was a delight all night. A must!

What a view! Amazing seating, even better eating! This place had some of the freshest and most unique flavors I ever had at a sushi place, great cocktails, and desert to round it out. Excellent Michelin Star experience and our first one!

One of the best meals I’ve had in my life! The service was great and the chef went above and beyond to make sure he provided us with a vegetarian dish. The food and dessert was excellent! Kudos to the head chef who made sure everything was perfect. Also the view is great 😍 couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Absolutely the most amazing views and experience that I’ve had in Istanbul. I went at night and the city appeared to be magical. The chef picked so many different courses for us, that were so delicious. The music, drinks and vibes were sensational. Teşekkürler to everyone at Banyan.

Lovely restaurant, great music and atmosphere! Amazing food that looks veeery good and tastes even better! We were lucky to be seated on the side near the windows to view the Bosphorus and the bridge, and enjoyed our evening very much! I was particularly amazed by how delicious my food was - seabass with mango sauce. The sushi were tasty too, and curry chicken! The only downside was that people were smoking there even though I clearly saw a sign that it was prohibited to smoke in the restaurant, and since me and my boyfriend are nonsmokers, this circumstance made the evening a bit less enjoyable.

I had the most delightful dining experience at banyan . From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and outstanding service. The staff was incredibly attentive I must mention the best menu that mixes the magic of Asia and Türkiye ! The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect , couldn't choose a better dinning experience ! I also want to commend the restaurant's commitment to sustainability. They use locally sourced ingredients , which not only add to the freshness of the dishes but also support the community and reduce their environmental impact. Overall, my experience at Banyan was exceptional, and I can't wait to return. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top-notch food, outstanding service, and a cozy atmosphere. Incredible place, amazing view on the bosphorus. Cocktails are delicious, sushi’s as well! High price but worth it. Must be nice to come in summer and enjoy the open windows.

The view and the decor of this restaurant is really nice, seating is really elegant as well. Service is excellent, all the waiters and staff are very attentive and friendly. Sushi is really good , the main courses were average.. The chef was so polite and understanding in accommodating food requests. As a food lover I was mesmerized by the taste of the meals that we ordered. ❤️ Reservation is important. The best sushi sets, the best chicken meals and drinks. 🍱 🍣 🥂 The view was the second thing that mesmerized me after delicious meals.😄 okay, joking both were great! After meal we ordered dessert 🍮 and it was delicious as well. Highly recommended. Yeah overpriced but just for 1 time it’s ✅

Even though it’s kinda expensive compared to other restaurants in Istanbul but the food & the atmosphere of the place are so good & the staff are so friendly… the green apple salad is so good I really recommend trying it

They have Asian food here but south east Asian ones rather than Japanese or Chinese. (I am not talking about Sushi or rolls) It has the great night ocean views. So lovely. Food is great too.

Usually when you go to a restaurant with AMAZING VIEWS, the food is not that great. However, that is not the case at Banyan. Not only is the view amazing, but the food and the service are also excellent. Without question this is one of the best restaurants in Istanbul. I highly recommend.

The views and the location were incredible. The food was really good and tasty and delicate. The atmosphere was unbeatable. We felt very lucky to see the sunset from this place (from 18:00h the light gets really special) while feeling the sea breeze, watching the sea, the mesquite and the bridge. Totally recomended.

Nice place for a brunch or a drink on the bar, with ambiance and entertainment (very good jazz band). The food was tasty. The view is very nice (Ortakoy mosque and bosphorous). Recommended.

If you like good food with great ambiance then look no further. Banyan has the most spectacular view overlooking the gorgeous Ortakoy mosque and the Bosphorous Bridge. The food is excellent and the staff is very courteous and helpful. In chilly winter evenings the rooftop bar and restaurant is the most romantic place in the entire vicinity.

Terrible experience. Wait staff is short, doesnt pay attention nor serve! Food is mediocre!

I absolutely love this place. The best sunset view of the Bosporus anywhere in Istanbul while enjoying some of the best cocktails (my personal favorite is the Very Berry). The staff are wonderful people (especially bartender Barish (I hope I got his name right)). The food (Asian) is also too notch.

Amazing view of the Bosphorus, the First Bridge, and the food is awesome too. Great spot right on the water, staff is very accommodating and personal. Would recommend this place to anyone staying more than a day in Istanbul.

Well located by the seafront, Banyan has a spacious outdoor terrace with a beautiful view! The Asian fusion dishes are well presented and very tasty overall. I found the appetizers particularly delicious! Cocktail wise, they have a large selection of creative drinks and they are pretty nice in general. The outdoor bar has an impressive view too!

The place pretends to be posh and luxury, but the reality is that the only thing they may be proud of is a nice view from the window towards Bosphprus. Slow service, waiters forgetting the orders and and the end they charge a price for the wine, which was different (and surprise! 50% higher than what was shown on the QrR code menu). Never again.

Amazing view. Good food. Kitchen takes forever. The biggest issue for me is that we told that no one at the table can have spice and we were not assisted at all and half the thing we ordered weren’t just with a kick they were tooooo spicy. Not much of a service - staff is stretched thin. Too many people. Older servers had some class. Younger - clueless and lost. Desert menu could be better. And avoid ordering those screwers that are getting cooked in front of you. Waste of money. Soaked in sauce and killed by reheating kind of thing. Nothing intricate.

Over price, the sushi are delicious but prices are too high specially the drinks are so expensive, The resturant bosphorus view is amazing
