Although they are one of the popular hospitals in abeokuta. Their response and services could be better. Theirs staffs need to be retrained to meet the needs of patients. Their doctors need more humility and less pride, their nurses needs to be more caring rather than harsh

The medical center was quite larger than I expected. The facilities are fairly maintained but more ambulances and better infrastructure could be put in place to ensure efficiency in delivery. Great staff especially the doctors but nursing service could be better! There's security mount at the gate and power supply is good too.

The Federal Medical Center located in Abeokuta, Nigeria. The federal hospital attends to almost all health related issues of the body. Its quite a large hospital having various departments with experienced medical doctors, nurses, radiographers, pharmacists, optometrists, cardiologists, surgeons etc. all working to restore the health of individuals...

A lot of trekking involved! so bad that if you were sick, you could get worse just by registering and going for tests (from one buildin to another). Majority of the workers speak yoruba. They don't mind if you dont understand. If you're pregnant, you need to bring someone to donate 1 pint of blood for the hospital but they would claim its for you and if the blood isnt used, it can never be returned to you. You wouldn't be told this till after spending a lot on registration. Either ways, they have good facilities but their services are quite expensive for a federal hospital

Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta charges so much for initial consultation but so inefficient that they cannot or do not bother to take phonecalls, no matter how many times may try What a Disgrace! The Board and management of this hospital should be replaced instantly

Let me say it's the best government hospital in Abeokuta with more than average facilities. If things get out of hand in any hospital, it's FMC they'll refer the patients to. Any case that cannot be handled/treated at FMC? cannot be treated in Ogun state again! So it's like LUTH of Lagos State or UCH Ibadan.

FMC Federal Medical Center Idi Aba, Abeokuta is a government owned hospital that has a prominence that spreads like the sand along the vastness of a sea shore. Established over two decades ago by the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo the hospital has rose to prominence and since then, constantly, achieved milestone feats in the health sector. When it comes to hospital in the south with sound healthcare and a plethora of health research in Abeokuta, FMC is mentioned. It boasts of over a thousand staff; Admin staff, doctors, Nurses, consultants, Lab technicians, health and clinical staff and so on. It also have many departments; Radiology, pathology, parasitology, ENT, Oncology, orthopedic, paediatrics, Family planning and health, pharmacy and so on. There is a Servicom and Social Work department that sees to the complains of patients, workers and the overall wellness and activity within the premises.

This is the only teaching hospital in Abeokuta, though not officially attached to any university. This medical centre can be rated in my own opinion as the best medical centre in Abeokuta and possibly in Ogun State: Considering the state of the art of its infrastructural facilities, quality of the medical team, the environment, the prompt services and the cost of medical facilities. It all, one is assured of adequate medical care in the centre.

One of the biggest and most referred hospitals in Abeokuta, I'd suggest otherwise if you're looking for premium care. It's really on a if case, sometimes it's ideal, others you'll hate the place

The Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta is a 250-bedded regional specialist hospital which came into existence on 21st April, 1993 with a philosophy of excellence in the provision of medical services to the gateway state of Ogun and other neighbouring states and nations. ย However, over the recent years, the scope of this philosophy has gradually expanded to further encompass excellence in training and research, so that today we can rightly say that the hospital stands on a tripod of excellence in research, training and health care service delivery. With very limited infrastructure and ย trained personnel inherited from the then ย State Hospital, Idi- Aba in its humble beginnings, the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta has witnessed a phenomenal transformation in infrastructure and human resource development over the last two decades such that today the hospital has over 50 specialists ย in various fields of Medicine. The hospital has recorded feats such as separation of Siamese twins, performing the very first trans-oesophageal echocardiography in Nigeria and playing leading roles in a number of local and international collaborative research programmes

FMC is one of health facilities in Abeokuta that can cater for primary, secondary and tertiary care. Presence of Specialist, Consultants and high level facilities makes it a bit easier for special cases instead of going far in the country. Though, some of there staff are ill mannered, but your is your health is your priority, you're not there to drag issues with government workers, you'll still meet them on your next appointment.

Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta is a one of the best Federal Government Medical institution in Ogun State. Being a Federal government health parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Health, they have qualified and competent medical personnel to handle all medical/health cases and emergencies. The current Medical Director is trying his best in terms of infrastructure and medical services. More can be done to make medical/health services more readily accessible and affordable for the citizens.

Before having a reason to go to this hospital, I always wondered why some patients on referral to the hospital would break down in tears like it was a death sentence. When my baby started accessing care there, I finally understood. It was a terrible experience during one clinic visit post admission. I slept on the floor by the staircase when my baby was in the neonatal ward and we had to wake up two hourly to to breastfeed baby. During the 2 admission periods, there were both good and bad times like when a catheter we had bought was not suitable for the baby and one of the doctors gave another one to replace. However, while some of the staff are excellent at their work , the ones who give terrible customer service are more. A toddler baby was denied care because a senior nurse on duty insisted the mother should pay for "dressing" which the baby was not going to use before she could triage the baby to see the doctor. A Servicom staff Mrs Apanisile equally said that the mother should go to the CMAC (who was not on seat) and request for a refund for the service paid for that was not rendered. There was no concern/empathy for the baby, no concern for the mother who had travelled down to Abeokuta for the clinic visit. The clinic closed and she was not attended too. Instead, she was told to come back next week. When she said she travelled down from another town, she was told that other patients come in from farther locations. To see a doctor in the PSOP, all patients pay for dressing fee in addition to Waste Management and Doctor's consultation fee, regardless of whether the child gets a wound dressing or not. This drives cost of care up. For a Federal Tertiary hospital, cost of care here is more expensive than for a private hospital. Meanwhile, the toilets are filthy. In summary, the service here can be both inhumane and uncaring of patient's welfare .

It is probably the best government hospital in abeokuta in terms of facilities but obviously short of standard in hospital procedures, facilities and poor in staff ethics.
