Sebastopol was the name of a large artillery mortar commissioned by the Ethiopian emperor Tewodros II. The name was taken from the Crimean town Sevastopol, the site of a battle during the Crimean War. The mortar weighed approximately 6.7 tons, and was capable of firing off half-ton artillery rounds.

(Translated by Google) I am Korean in Korea. I can not find an Ethiopian government agency and write it here. On June 25, 1950, North Korea invaded Korea (South Korea) and occupied Seoul for three days. After less than a month, it occupied 90% of South Korea. At that time, not only a general soldier in Ethiopia, but also the emperor elite troops, with the UN, rescued Korea from the threshold of communism. To be more grateful, the Ethiopian soldiers paid for orphans in Korea for orphans whose name is unknown. Thanks to it, after the truce, Korea stood up again and achieved a remarkable economic development, but now Ethiopia has sent military forces to Korea and heard that it is currently suffering civil war (?). Thank you very much. thank you. It is time for us to help. Thank you to all those who have been shed for Korea.

Tewodros II was the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1855 to the time of his death in 1868 was also known as Atse Tewodros. Tewodros Square is named after. There is an ancient cannon in the middle of the square that stands there as a monument to this emperor, as he wanted to build an armaments industry in the country. This cannon was made by Europeans in Ethiopia and was called Sebastopol, but it is not the original and is only a bronze copy as the original lies somewhere else in Ethiopia.

Named after Emperor Tewodros II. But can't help but wonder why not a statue of the king himself?.. coming up from ambassador you will find yourself at a cross with 3 paths(to piassa, to the palace & to teklehaimanot).
