Beautiful church. Guide spoke too fast.

The church itself is very beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Underneath the church are the tombs of national hero King Menelik II and his wife and daughter. This is a somewhat cramped, musky room without proper lighting.

st jourge church piasa one of the oldest Addis abab Orthodox chrch more than 100 years old, fantacy made of rock building make it looking beautiful, cold place scilent for prayer it is the best place, the area also called by the church

This is a very interesting church and of great significance to Ethiopia. I was lucky to be guided by Deacon Sisay and it was well worth the 200 birr entrance fee (and the additional mandatory tip). The inside of the church is beautiful and, to those of us used to Eurpoean cathedrals, very unusual. Take time to look around and understand its historical significance.

Such a calm and inspiring place. I love the old trees surrounding the church and both giving shade but also filter out the noises of the city now surrounding the church.

Visited as part of a Viator tour. Well worth the stop.

Cool exterior but tourists are expected to pay to enter. I snuck some pics before I told my driver to high-tail it out of there, though I like to say the spirit moved me 🙌🏻

There are many beggars and even some scammers who try to prey on visitors, assuming that many tourists will be attracted to such a famous tourist destination, which is inevitable. However, this should be one of the sincerest places for both tourists and scammers. # Addis Ababa # Ethiopia
