Three of my children were born here. I am grateful for the effort of the doctors during prenatal care. However, the delivery day and following days never match the service expectations. The quality of service in this center has deteriorated with increasing population seeking the service. The center didn't manage the service well and it is disappointing lately. Comments are given an elephant ear. After all ot is only business for the owners and it is flourishing.

No apology from staff in charge when mistake pointed out. Very negative experience. As this is being run as a business, one would expect a certain level of professionalism, but I haven't seen that here yet. However good the doctor may be (still waiting, so don't know yet), the unprofessionalism from the get-go is unacceptable.

Dr. Tasew and his team did a wonderful job. Their service was beyond my expectations from a Private Hospital in Ethiopia. I am truly grateful for every staff member. They were kind and compassionate during my most venerable time. πŸ™

Everything was going well ,the doctor was professional and compassionate, but during my operation the senior did stich my right side and the resident finsh the left side. The technic they used was completely different. the scar on my right and left is completely different and my left side looks terrible . i have paid 32000 birr in this clinic just for my delivery. yet they let resident practice on me if i want this kind of service i would have went to government teaching hospital for free. Please Please dont do this to other customers !!!!

This facility doesn't even deserve a 1 star they are very gready, unprofessional a disgrace to the medical community. They want to make money out of you even from a free vaccine they got from the government. Service fee is acceptable and reasonable but on the othet hand if you are not willing to pay 400 ETB they will denie to provide service.

It is a good-facility overall and it’s amazing to have this kind of treatment center in the country, however expensive and VERY long wait for the doctor to see patients. Also heavily dependent on psych meds , which are meant to be a temporary treatment. Should also focus more on other aspects of treating addiction and psychiatric issues.

After I arrived in Ethiopia with my two young daughters, the youngest developed high fever, discoloration of the lips and inflammation on her gums. My sister-in-law recommended this clinic and its senior pediatrician Dr. Ayalnesh Mengesha. As per the recommendation, I took my daughter there. Although the overall service was mediocre at best, my daughter was prescribed an effective medicine and recovered from her illness within a week. My oldest daughter developed severe stomach illness accompanied by vomiting in the middle of the night. I took her to a neighborhood clinic where she was injected with vomit suppressing and pain relieving medication. The doctor there advised me to bring her back in the event the vomiting fails to cease. It didn't- I brought my daughter to Hemen the next morning. Dr. Ayalnesh, without putting my daughter, who is suffering from severe stomach pain on her examination table, concluded the culprit was urinary tract infection. The doctor then suggested my daughter has anxiety (played the part of a psychiatrists) because she won't let her touch her stomach- she also suggested that the urinary tract infection was a result of parental neglect (played a social worker here) and developed over time. For some reason, she was very nasty and judgmental- something I've never experienced with any physician before. I specifically asked if it could be appendicitis. Again, without putting my daughter on her examination table, she dismissed that suggestion firmly. Her ego (25 year experience) may have been bruised. That day, my daughter lost her appetite accompanied by constant vomiting-- although the stomach pain became somewhat manageable. She couldn't even keep the prescribed medication down. We went back and visited the good doctor-- she hates getting up. She hates that examination table. Dr. Ayalnesh once again tried to touch my daughter's belly (which she succeeded) but was met with a sharp scream. "Why are you exaggerating?" was what came out of the senior Pediatrician's mouth at this health establishment. I just wanted my child to get better- I didn't have time to react to; to get angry at the various nasty, judgmental comments she made throughout our experience there. Dehydration, lack of rest and possible kidney infection was the diagnosis that day. Once again, appendicitis was completely ignored and my child was given glucose and her medication though intravenous infusion. She was then sent home after being told to come back for a two day injection regiment to treat the urinary tract infection. On the second and last day of the injections, I requested to see the doctor again. Once she saw my daughter's name, Dr. Ayalnesh told the very rude woman upstairs in charge of queue, to put her at the bottom of the list because "I just saw her two days ago." Once we were in front of her again, I explained to The Senior Pediatrician that I don't see any improvement. Various nasty, rude and judgmental comments preceded before Dr. Ayalnesh sat my daughter right beside her (no examination table again!!!) and tried to touch her abdomen (unsuccessful.) I once again asked for further examination. She was very resistant to the idea but, thankfully, at last, my request was granted and an ultrasound was approved. Dr. Edom performed the ultrasound scan and discovered my daughter was suffering from appendicitis complication. Dr. Ayalnesh was shocked at the discovery and she sounded sincere in her concern and referred my child to one of the most amazing people that I've ever met in my life: Dr. Hanna Getchew of Bethzatha General Hospital. Dr. Hanna was incredibly professional, explained the procedure, put the entire family at ease and put a smile on my daughter's face in nearly a week. She was very empathetic and saw through my daughter's recovery with care. I don't recommend Dr. Ayalnesh- bring your children to Dr. Hanna.

This is probably the worst hospital experience my family and my self have encountered as not only we have lost our to be new family member, but also we have been harrased, mistreated, yelled at and at the end forced to pay for the ' funeral expenses' of the baby girl whose life was lost due to the fault of the owner of the hospital who has been following up my sister during her pregnancy. To put the story in a nutshell, my sister was 9months pregnant when the doctor kept on telling her to come after a week so that she can deliver with labor and that they will wait until she is in labor in natural course. At 9months and one week,on a Thursday , the doctor informed my sister, the amniotic fluid is less than normal and informed her to come back on Tuesday is she won't in labour by the weekend. So my sister went again to the doctor on Tuesday and informed the doctor she doesn't feel the movement of the baby. Sadly, the doctor, one of the 'renowned' specialist in the field, sent my sister back home even without checking her. No ultrasound test or sth similar.. Imagine sending a high risk mother back home and tellng her to come back again Friday to deliver the baby. She assured the concerned mother that everything is okay.. Sadly, on Thursday evening my sister felt sth and was rushed to the hospital and at their premises was informed by the evening doctor the baby isn't alive. Shocked by the news, we have asked that doctor to do what is best for the mother's life. The doctor said they will follow what the mother wants.. The choice was to remove the baby with surgery or to wait until she is in labor. My sister chose the first insisting that she won't go in to labour for a dead infant.. My brother asked the doctor to advise on what is the risk to mother if the baby is left inside until she naturally gives birth and not knowing how long has it been since the baby had passed away. The doctor asked my brother back, it's like when you drive a car, you may or may not have an accident.. It was such a disgrace to hear that from a doctor.. So we were told they would decide what to do when the specialist doctor to come to office next morning. The specialist doctor didn't have the courtesy to call the mother and assure or console her.. Next morning, after she was done with her routine round.. Imagine what it takes to become such heartless human being. When I asked the night doctor when the specialist would come and visit my sister given we are in an emergency, that nights doctor told me it is an emergency for me but not for them. So Dr Zufan finally got to see my sister after 14 hours of her receving the bad news. Imagine, she walked in to that hospital at about 8pm on Thursday and got to be seen by her doctor around 10am next day. My sister was not in labour until the afternoon even after being given the labour instigator injunction three times. So around 4pm I had approached the head of midwives as to what their next plans are.. She asked me what I meant by that.. I told her when they plan to conduct surgery since the injection was not helping.. The exact words that midwife were the following "the term surgery doesn't exist in our dictionary.. We never ever gona conduct surgery on a mother whose baby died inside the womb and give me the name of the doctor who gave you such false premise that surgery is an option. I will report him" imagine how I should react to this.. Oh and I forget to mention that all of family members were prohibited from visiting my sister while she was given those injections. They particularly assigned a security person on us while other families were allowed to visit theirs. around 6pm my dad and her husband were called to the room and were informed by the specialist that the baby came upside down and she can no longer carry on labour and they need to do an mergency surgery. The only thing that held us from taking the matter to the court was the fact that my sister will have to testify and letting her go to the court every time there is a hearing would make her recovery difficult. πŸ˜₯

I had a bad experience in this hospital. I had a check up and was assigned to Dr Selam. The pregnant lady that was at the waiting room told me to change a doctor because Dr Selam was so rude. I didn't think that was true until I met her. First off her face was not inviting she was looking at me as she was angry the whole time and told me without even checking me I have some sort of disease. After that I was checked by another doctor and the result came and I had nothing. She was so unprofessional and untrustworthy. I would not recommend her to anyone specially to new moms to be.She adds more tension to birth giving and will make you feel scared. She is the worst doctor I have ever met.I heard Dr Zufan was an amazing doctor there and most women choose her.

I have been to hemen twice.the first time was before 4 years and the service from both doctors and nurses was excellent.that is why i insisted on going there for our second kid.i regreted my decision. What happened to your service and dedication.....i know many government clinics who have better service and professionalism....nurses are so bored with their job that they are constantly on tik tok....even in ICU....i am truly disappointed with your clinic.....they lack the basiss in everything from communication to work ethics....so dissapointed.

I observed unethical and unprofessional behavior from your supposed doctor or ultrasound technician. Firstly, it is strange that the ultrasound operator is referred to as a specialist doctor in the developed world. In reality, the doctor does not operate any machines such as ultrasounds, x-rays, or MRIs. These machines have their own technicians known as laboratory technicians who are professionals in their field. Furthermore, during my visit to your clinic, we had to wait for over two hours to see the technician. However, when he finally arrived, he immediately went into his room without even acknowledging the receptionist or addressing the people in the queue. While people was waiting for their turn a couple of patient went straight without talking to the quee patient in my opinion this is work of corruption. This was completely inappropriate and demonstrates the unprofessionalism of your employee. I did not expect such a highly qualified individual to behave in such a manner. This situation reminds me that the ministry of education requires all prospective graduates to pass an exam before they can graduate. I kindly request that you work towards improving the professionalism of your employees who practice in your hospital.

Worst MCH center in Addis. My friend had bad experience during her antenatal visits (long waiting time,4-5hrs)and even worst experience at the time of her delivery. No one was allowed to visit her while she was laboring not even her husband πŸ˜’. There was also a gap in sharing her progress, they didn't even tell us baby was born until we asked. Very rude and negligence staffs especially the ones working in labor and delivery room.

I can say it's the best hospital in town. Dr. Tassew is friendly and caring with excellent knowledge. Helped me deliver two of my children safely when I am a hypertensive patient. Dr. Mesfin is also the best Pedestrian in Addis, they did a great job as a team when they helped me deliver a preterm baby. The whole team is amazing. Thank you Hemen hospital for your professionalism.

Just want to express my honest experiance at Hemen Hospital . My Dr was Dr. Kiflom throughout my 41 weeks pregnancy journey he was amazingly polite, caring and professional . Whenever i have follow up the way he treated me was with compassion. He helped me to deliver my 4000g healthy baby girl through natural delivery even if in the middle of my labor i changed my mind to CS as i was in pain and couldn't think straight but thanks to my Dr. and others who worked at delivery room encouraged me to deliver through SVD. I'm thankful i didn't go through CS. He is also talented in anatomy screening. My daughter's Dr. Was Dr. Kidist she was also amazingly polite and caring she helped me in feeding my baby as i was not able to breastfeed. Dr.Zufan and her team cross checked my stitches the next day and consulted me on how to treat my wounds . Wow over all am thankful for every support i got from Hemen team. α‰°α‰£αˆ¨αŠ©α’
