Such a beautiful park full of wonder and nature! Great place for selfies and pictures and exercise. Lots of hills and elevation help this place feel memorable and set apart from other parks. We enjoyed the Lion area, the Museum as well as all the gems along the way. Must visit when in Addis Ababa.

Amazing park with sculpture gardens, art museum, massive church, throne room, detailed history of the red terror. Also has food/coffee available. You can easily spend an entire day here. Very popular for wedding photos.

The best tourism structure I have seen. Lots of detail and thought went into this. $20 US for foreigners is worth the price. There are several exhibits in here so you are getting bang for your buck. Easy to spend the day here. Maybe skip the national museum.

This is a great place to see animals and plants apart from museum scenes. For me, I loved the Zoo part. I got the opportunity to see black lion, cheetah, Zebras, and many beautiful birds. The museum part is also interesting to learn about Ethiopia. Prepare to spend more a couple of hours to enjoy your trip. Best of luck.

Unity Park is a captivating destination that beautifully showcases Ethiopia's rich history and culture. Nestled at the heart of Addis Ababa, it offers an interesting mix of well-manicured gardens, a zoo, and a walk down the historical path of Ethiopia. The park incorporates an admirable sense of honesty by not shying away from the darkest moments of the country's political history. While the cultural section is still a work in progress, I was amazed by its beauty and the efforts put into its development. The stunning gardens create a peaceful atmosphere, providing a perfect backdrop for the historic buildings and engaging exhibitions. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in Ethiopia's heritage and gain a deeper understanding of its past. From the mini aquarium in the zoo to the captivating displays, Unity Park offers a memorable and enlightening experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking tranquility amidst the city, this park is a must-visit. It's a true gem that showcases the diversity, resilience, and splendor of Ethiopia's history and culture.

The Unity Park of Ethiopia is one of the most modern and multi-faceted tourist attractions in the country. Unity Park of Ethiopia is one of the beautification projects of Addis Ababa. The Ethiopia Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed built the Unity Park project with five billion Ethiopian Birr and has open for visitors since October 2019. The unity park founded on 20 hectares of the National Grand Palace. Moreover, the unity park of Ethiopia gives an opportunity to learn from historical events, cultural values, and natural gifts

It was wonderful visiting Unity Park. It showcases various aspects of the country: history, culture, wildlife (lions, meerkats, giraffes, monkeys, zebras, ostriches, gazelles and many more), actual rooms used by previous rulers & their crowns and there are also a few restaurants and cafes to grab something to eat or drink during your visit. Entrance ticket prices are dependent on whether you are an Ethiopian or not. It's a little more expensive for foreigners but worth it. If you are in Addis Ababa and have a few hours to spare then I highly recommend visiting the park.

This park offers a delightful blend of history, nature, and animal encounters. Built on the former grounds where Ethiopian rulers of the past century resided and entertained, it showcases the country's fascinating heritage in a modern, engaging way. Beyond the historical exhibits, a well-maintained green space invites leisurely strolls. Inside, a zoo and aquarium present diverse species of animals and birds for families to discover. However, I have some reservations about the "Savanna" section. While the animals seem healthy, the enclosure for zebras and wildebeests felt cramped and didn't accurately reflect their natural habitat. This aspect slightly detracted from the overall experience. Despite this minor concern, I recommend this park as a charming destination for a family afternoon. It offers a variety of enjoyable activities and a pleasant escape from the city bustle.

It locates inside one of the palace in addis ababa arat kilo. It's amazing historical place. You need to buy a ticket before getting in. You can buy tickets either via sms text or website. They have two kinds tickets. The 200 birr which is you need wait in line and no guider inside. But all the places they have name tags and info so we will not have no problem to. But you can visit the menilik palace ans "Eunkuale bete" the 1000 birr ticket it's VIP ticket it includes not waiting at line, you will have a tour guider you can see all the historic places including the menilik palace and "Enkualale Bate". It's a must see palace.

I Praise & Glorify my Lord and saviour for his mercy and grace upon to our nation. God always want someone to respond to his call and I am glad that one man has heard the voice of God and said here I am, hence, His grace overflowing upon to him. That is why this person is still preaching love, peace and forgiveness. I can't wait till I visit this amazing park. Fortunately my wife and my 13 months baby girl are now in Ethiopia and soon they will visit this park. This is a golden opportunity for my family. I am so excited to see all the photos and the videos of this amazing park. May God bless Ethiopia and Ethiopians

The park is absolutely beautiful giving a nice summary of Ethiopian history along with beautiful architecture and many historical buildings which played an important role in the past. Also many installations and presentations help understand the turbulent history of the country better. Further more there is a lions enclosure with black maned lions - which only exist in Ethiopia. However beware - cameras must be left at the entrance that's why I could not take pictures 😔. The entrance fee is about 20 USD for foreigners and can be payed cash or with credit card at the entrance. For Ethiopians fee is cheaper. Park closes at 5 so I recommend going there early to be able to see and enjoy everything.

I have to say Unity Park is an experience everyone can enjoy from throne hall, to the banquet hall, our indigenous plants garden, the zoo, the man-made cave tunnel, the aquarium, the aviary, the ethiopian regions pavilion. It is a walk through our history, culture, nature and traditions. My only dissapointment was the fact that the black lion infact all the big cats were 😴 asleep 😴🤨. But seriously I'm definitely coming back😊

Quite pleasant park, but gosh, the security is too much and unnecessary. Why is it forbidden a modem? For god sake, I can also do Hotspots from my phone! Same with power banks, please stop with this nonsense…. And the prices are quite steep if you are a foreigner. But as such, the park is very clean and organised. With coffee shops and shops around. It’s new so expect improvements next time you will visit You can see the palace of the former queen, and a lot of wild animals and birds! I recommend it.

This place made me feel proud of my heritage, being a Habesha and an Ethiopian. Awesome feature, you get a complimentary journey map and tour guides are available for hire. 2 concerns, the aquarium needs more fish and the pavilion of regions needs work. Some regions are well stacked while the rest are bare and empty. Don't waste your time trying to pay using your phone's credit balance, it won't work. Either pay directly at the gate, in cash or CBE BIRR. Or use the Telebirr method (It isn't functional as of January 2022). You aren't allowed to bring food and drinks and inside. Café's and restaurants are available inside. BUT it is extremely overpriced, so get your pockets ready or fill your stomach ahead! Ladies wear some flats👟

Experiencing Unity Park goes beyond words. Witness the rich history, captivating structures, and savor a meal at the accessible food court (don't miss Paradise Restaurant with its impressive menu). Foreigners pay 1100 birr (20 USD), while locals pay 300 birr (about 6 USD). Note that power banks and other gadgets are prohibited due to strict security protocols. Certain areas of the park are heavily guarded and not easily accessible.

An absolutely delightful, relaxing, and educational experience! As foreigner visitors, we paid $50 US Dollars, including a private guide. This amount, given the extent of the tour, private access and service is well worth it! Unity Park is a unique and one-of-a-kind place in the entire world. A visit to Ethiopia without going to the park would be unfortunate. I very highly recommend this place

It is one of the superb places to visit and enjoy your day. Nested within the National Grand Palace, this park is unlike anything I have experienced in the capital city of Ethiopia. It's historical buildings and artifacts, indigenous plants and traditional garden, the exotic animals at the zoo and the stunning palace are among the few to be amazed at and be left awe. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and shorts as there are plenty to explore. Professional cameras and videos 📸 are not allowed, but you will find cafes within the park for refreshment.

Unity Park The park will be closed on Mondays Historic Unity Park is established in 2019. The park is located at the Grand Palace in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a compound that has been a seat of state for more than a century The total land coverage of the grand palace is 40 acres and it contains myriads of historical buildings and plants that date back to the time of emperor Menelik II, the founder of the Grand Palace. Buildings Banquet Hall The Banquet Hall or commonly called ‘Gibir adarash’, was built during the reign of Emperor Menelik II. When it was constructed, it had a capacity to entertain almost 8000 guests at a time. Emperor Menelik used to organize feasts three times a week, not to mention the plentiful carousals during festive days. In 1963 following the establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), Emperor Haile Selassie had organized a feast for the founding fathers of OAU in this same Hall. In 2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, had arranged a 5-million-birr dinner as part of raising money for the project ‘Beautification of Addis Ababa’. Building The “Throne Hall” or “Throne House” The “Throne Hall” or “Throne House” as it is also known is where Ethiopia’s monarchs would meet with the provincial lords of aristocratic backgrounds and royal lineage to discuss local issues and make important decisions on subjects such as land tax. On special occasions, the space was also used to welcome nobles and foreign dignitaries. Queen Elizabeth II of British, Charles De Gul of France and Joseph Broz Tito of Yugoslavia were only few of the distinguished world leaders to be received in this Hall during the reign of Emperor Haile Selassie.During the Dergue regime the Throne House served as a meeting hall for the Dergue Central Committee in which numerous matters were deliberated, including the famous rural land expropriation proclamation and the decision to kill high officials of Emperor Haile Selassie. The Throne Hall is highly decorated with precious stuccos covering the walls and ceiling. It takes its name from the large, golden throne displayed in the center. There are plinths featuring the Star of David, the symbol of the Solomonic Dynasty, at the base of the columns supporting the canopy holding the crown. At the top, statues of angels extend their arms, expressing praise.Currently, the “Throne Hall” houses the main exhibition of Unity Park museum. The exhibition celebrates the history and culture of Ethiopia, a nation shaped by its ethnic and religious identities and its politics. It traces Ethiopia’s evolution through legends, cultural beliefs, various governments, and historical events- some of which took place here in Menelik palace. Building Menelik II’s Palace Complex Menelik Palace Complex refers to the octagonal structure and other collection of historical buildings that were built at the time of Emperor Menelik II. This Complex consists of private prayer room of Emperor Menelik II and the Emperor’s watching tower, Emperor Menelik II’s office, Menelik IIʼs bedroom and Reception Room, Etege Taytu Betul’s Bedroom, the Minister of War’s Waiting Room, The Princes’ Bedroom, Council of Ministers and a small banquet hall. The first telephone for the entire country was also installed to this building. Culture Ethiopian Regional States Pavilion Ethiopian Regional States Pavilion is an attraction that display cultural, historical, natural and other assets of the regional states of Ethiopia at a glimpse. The cultural, historical, natural resources and investment opportunities of all regions are presented in a short video, pictorial displays and different sculptures. Culture Traditional Garden This area is devoted to demonstrate different indigenous plants and traditional building styles of the rural Ethiopia to visitors. In this garden, mainly, different indigenous plants that can be utilized as medication, ornament, spice, food and beverage production, and furniture production are planted. Total turist trap. Everything is still under the construction so do not expect to see things what are actually promoted. Ticket price for the tourists is 3 times more thank locals and that's only the regular ticket which only allows you to walk around the park. If you want to see the palace from inside you need to get a VIP ticket for which you will be charged 1500birr!!! It is also not allowed to bring water and DSLR cameras inside the park , which is total nonsense. The park is newly built and the only historical object you can see is the palace, and thats the only object actually worth to see there. If you have limited time in Addis, I would not recommend going to the Unity park.

great.

. Brought my residence ID. Refused entry. The management doesn’t know the first thing about running a park. Even though I’m an Ethiopian resident, they denied my entry into the park because I couldn’t pay in USD. I live in Ethiopia and therefore do not have access to USD. I had to leave the park.

If you come to Ethiopia, never leave without visiting this overwhelmingly astonishing place. It is a showcase of little Ethiopia, all in one place. You need a full day to appreciate everything in the park. Very surprising to see foreigners complaining about the entrance price. I have paid 30$ to see chicken and goat in Europe.

It's a magnificent place of recreation. It needs at least 3 hours for visitation with quite an outstanding establishments and an animal zoo. Each premises have a high historical significance. These imperial regime palace premises indicate the long history of Ethiopia's government history connecting with the ancient history.

The Abiy administration has done an amazing job on renovating and remodeling this historical place and turning it to a park where people can go to and visit and have a great time. Knowing who we are and what we have is important. The park is a great reminder of who we used to be and who we can become. No words to describe the park.

I had my three hours day tour in this African magnificent design and state of art portrayal of the history of Ethiopia and it's influence over Africa's growth. The park has lot to amaze you from history, birds, wild animals, caves, aquarium, food and far more the residence of the president and the Prime Minister. Just give it a try when you're in there and you won't regret it.

Interesting mix of well manicured gardens right at the heart of Addis plus a zoo plus a walk down the history of Ethiopia. I appreciated the candour of describing the darkest moments of Ethiopia's political history. The cultural section is still work in progress.
