Firstly the personnel were very friendly, helpful, and informed. We stayed six days. I adored the old quaint charm and our suite (large bedroom w 15’ ceilings, marble fireplace, desk and chair, lovely silk bed coverings and matching daybed with two upholstered chairs, nice full size kitchen w table and chairs and French double windows opening on the church square, a nice sized bathroom w window opening onto the garden.) The garden!!! Through double French doors, you walk out into a large walled garden with two really old fountains accessible only to #26. The large tree has been trimmed over the decades so that the upper branches are like a lofty leafy umbrella. There are plants and flowers and a little table and chairs too. What a bonus! We loved it. Our departure was very early (6:45) but someone at the desk phoned to say our driver was waiting. They go the extra mile. Not only, would we stay again, we’ll certainly tell our friends about it too. We booked directly through their website for a little discount off the very reasonable prices. Win, win.

Very kind and helpful staff in this older quaint hotel in the heart of Aix. The decor is traditional French but not unpleasant, even if your tastes are more modern. Centrally located, you're steps from the historic part of the village, where shops and restaurants abound. The bathroom unfortunately doesn't have a real shower-it's a shower wand and the breakfast is pretty basic. But for the money and location, this is a fantastic hotel!

Very helpful manager when I lost my credit card. The rooms were very comfortable on both nights I stayed.

Absolutely divine!!!!! 1000% recommend! Worth the slightly more expensive cost as opposed to other similar-looking accommodation options 😊 Great location, not even a 3 min walk from Cours Mirabeau. The most gorgeous, French boutique-style hotel with large, spacious rooms and immaculate bathroom. Gorgeous interior with spectacular attention to detail. Very easy stay, staff were all so lovely, helpful and accommodating.

A good decent hotel room, albeit with a wild and crazy leopard-print theme. We only stayed for a night, but they also apparently have extended-stay rooms that are excellent; we talked to another French guest who frequently stays for a week. Good location. Had a small enclosed courtyard that we used for storing our bikes (we were on a bike tour).

Wonderful location, just steps from Musee Granet, and close to the Cours Mirabeau and great shopping. Unfortunately, the elevator was out while I was there, but they did find a room for me one floor lower - still, carrying bags up stairs after a certain age... Rooms are a bit worn, but still comfortable and charming. Lovely art by the owner's father throughout. Biggest beef would be the breakfast they offer - poor quality for the price compared with other small French hotels. It's sad to get a bad grocery store baguette when in France and no excuse for it. And nothing beyond breads, coffee, and icky juice. No yogurt, etc. Improving petit dejeuner quality would make a big difference.

Beautiful French bedroom with kitchen in a square with a huge church opposite the art gallery. The courtyard was lovely and cool and private. The staff were lovely too. Quiet night's sleep after a fine night walk and dinner.

Its location is great! The room was decent size, the reception was wonderful! The bathroom has a bathtub with a shower on a hose but no bathtub wall or curtains.

Location is perfect, central but in the quiet area. The team was super friendly and welcoming. The property is clean and we were lucky to get a room with a small terrace. Very good value for a decent accommodation in Aix.

Nice small hotel with cozy rooms and lots of art all over. Short walk to city centre and many attractions. Rooms have a fair size, very clean, comfortable bed, A/C works well and it's pretty silent. Large bathroom with tub. Great service provided by staff. Will come again!

My father and I had a wonderful stay at Hôtel Cardinal! It is in the perfect location for getting out and about. It is a family-owned hotel and the staff is helpful, kind, and enjoyable.
