Honestly I am disgusted. This hotel constantly smells like puke & cigarettes (mainly in the hallway). The bathroom in the hotel rooms are absolutely disgusting, the smell from the sink and the showers are absolutely outrageous. The level of customer service is a disgrace, the reception staff have no clue what they are doing. The beds are tiny and I nearly fell off a few times whilst sleeping. I DO NOT know how this hotel has been given 4* rating, I would rate it as -4. The cupboards in the hotel rooms are broken, there is just no comfort anywhere. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone as it is a complete waste of time. The pictures of the hotel on booking.com look fabulous but once you turn up you realise how deceiving pictures can be. Overall, really disappointed.

This place is pretty but very very busy. I arrived 2 hours before my check-in time. The front desk asked me to wait and they'd call me over. They never did, so I checked back at check in time and the room still wasn't ready but I could have a twin bed if I wanted. I said I'd wait the 40 minutes for the king bed. Then after waiting for the bed they told me there were no towels but I could have the key now and they'd bring the towels. I took the keys and the room itself was fine; I never did get any towels. The lobby is gorgeous, but the hotel itself is a little run down. For example, the knobs of some of the cupboards behind the front desk are missing. Can't beat the price though.

Pathetic hotel. Seems like they are interested only in Russian customers and offering them services. Rooms had broken hand faucets, shaving mirrors, tubs and so on. The first room we got was smelling of urine. Got it changed with a lot of difficulty. Second one also had a defective washbasin which got fixed later. The house keeping is lousy and does not clean the room daily until you request specifically. There are no lights in the rooms except the bedside lights and so I think the cleaners are not able to see the floor properly. The floor had no carpeting so you canโ€™t even walk a few steps bare foot due to dirty floor!! Overall not recommended at all as it is far from the city centre. The only good thing was that the plumber came on time whenever we reported any issue. The gym was also not well maintained and opened after 8 am.

Forget about early check-in and empathy from the day time reception staff. We had lot of unexpected guests in the form of small and mid size cockroaches giving us company in the room. You got to stomp them or ask for pesticidal spray.. however the cockroaches always ensured they made themselves easily visible, especially when you come tired in the evening. Service is average and housekeeping staff sometimes forget to keep towels or water bottles in your room which you can get after asking for it. May be you need to call couple of times. Breakfast is also average, though restaurant staff is really efficient. Kudos to them for a faster turnaround and managing large gathering. Location is good, many restaurants (especially if you are veg) and large departmental stores in the vicinity.

They made us wait for 45 mins just to provide the room which I had reserved well in advance. The rooms are decent not that great, you'll be able to find better rooms for same price range. There were few cockroaches and the room service is very slow. There are few pubs in ground floor which plays loud music all night. The complimentary breakfast was horrible and you won't find a place to sit and eat.

If I could give zero stars for this hell hole I absolutely would. Please avoid at your peril, it should have been condemned years ago and for it to be pretending to be a 4 star hotel is a joke. Dirty, smelly, insect ridden den, full of damp and staff who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else than there. Arrived and the first 2 rooms we were given were full of cockroaches, the 2nd rooms we were given were completely filthy with some dead insects lying around. The hall carpets looked like they hadn't seen a hoover in a decade and the whole place was disgusting. Checked out and didn't look back after initially booking a 9 night stay. Please avoid this place, it will ruin your holiday and potentially make you ill. I've never seen anywhere like it!

As a 4 star hotel, expectation was high. We booked for 2 nights in a family room. Checking in is ok, but when we went to the room. It is smelly, the bathroom is dirty and there are cockroaches. The flooring is grimy and the bed and pillow covers stinks. The door locks are broken as well informed the reception and they said to fix it but they didn't. Cabinet doors are creaking when you open. Verbbad experience.

Had a pleasant stay at grand excelsior. The management and the staff were polite and helped us ease our process although we had two separate bookings. They also upgraded our suite due to unavailability and the rooms were spacious and clean. Mr.Mofizur from the housekeeping team was very polite and I appreciate his commitment to work. On the downside, the waiting time at the reception is pretty long irrespective of what time you reach out to them. Also they didn't have information about the COVID rules for our return journey and we were misguided with wrong information.

The rooms were good The hotel location is good U can find supermarket and a tuck shop in just few steps away. You can find most Indians there. The room service is bit slow but the best part of hotel is the breakfast. They will provide you veg and non veg plus fruit salads and juices.

To be honest, I expect wayy more better. The first day we came we had to wait 2 hours to go into our rooms and didn't want to give us the room we asked for. The room is disgusting, the whole hotel stinks, in the room everyday a light wouldn't work so we only had 1 lamp in a whole room, the sink got clogged for 3 days and room service is apooling. The breakfast was not the best and where we ate was really dark. I couldn't sleep until like 3 am because downstairs there was music blasting for a few hours. In general I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone

Worst experience ever! Never thought that a 4 star hotel in Dubai would give services and hospitality as 0 star. Right from our check-in day, Iโ€™ve had multiple issues at multiple places. First of all, when we arrived at the hotel at 8.30 in the morning, theyโ€™d kept us waiting until 1.30 in noon. Later we had to call for extra bed in our room multiple times before they actually come and put extra bed for us although we had 3 people pre-booked for a room. All the reception employees are very rude in treating the guest as we guest are living for free. Management need to train their concierge people to show some kindness. Also, breakfast menu is not at all good. Overall worst experience me and my family had while in Dubai.

The best hotel Iโ€™ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality room (there was clean bath room ), and high quality service. Overall, I had a great experience with the (captain Mr Hanif ) was incredibly helpful hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much.

I strongly discourage choosing this hotel. I had a two-day reservation from November 8 to November 10, 2023. Upon check-in, the room and bathroom were unpleasantly odorous, and the bathroom lacked proper cleanliness. Although we requested a different room, the manager stated the hotel was fully booked for the day and offered to clean the bathroom instead. We reluctantly agreed. During the night, we experienced discomfort, realizing there were 3 to 4 insects or bugs on the bed. After recording a video, we presented it to the reception. The night manager, more responsive than the day manager, promptly asked me to share the video with their email group and arranged for a new room. It was perplexing that a room suddenly became available. We decided to cancel the booking for the next day, and the manager promptly refunded the amount. Overall, our stay at this hotel was a highly unsatisfactory experience.

We read the reviews before booking and there were a lot of good reviews and some bad reviews. We figured it's in a good area and can't be as bad as some reviews noted. WRONG! The bathroom of the room was dirty, the shower head was broken and the hot water didn't work. After complaining to the front desk, the shower head and hot water was fixed. Our booking was supposed to have three beds, but the room only had 1 King size bed. Had to call front desk and get another bed delivered. We were on the 2nd floor and it's hard to sleep at night due to the loud disco music. Very loud and annoying. The worst part of all - the cockroaches! Big size, medium size, small size - the whole family! Don't listen to the good reviews, don't know what hotel they stayed in but it certainly wasn't this roach infested, loud & run down dump.

To be honest, I expect wayy more better. The first day we came we had to wait 2 hours to go into our rooms and their check in time is 3 pm which is so annoying. The breakfast was not the best and where we ate was really dark. Additionally, the cost for water they are charging is 10 times more than what we get in the supermarket and when I asked them I don't need the bottle the receptionist started arguments that it is already billed without even telling me the price and without taking my consent to print the bill. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone as their staff members are so rude especially the people on reception. Taking unecessary charges for literally an essential commodity 'water'.

Acceptable hotel at a reasonable price. Big rooms, good service. Very clean and good location for Dubai World Trade Center visitors. Not bad gym. Probably the bar could be better. Rooftop โ€˜discothequeโ€™ is pretty good.

Grand Disappointment: A Nightmarish Stay at Grand Excelsior Hotel My family and I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Grand Excelsior Hotel, and I feel compelled to share our nightmarish encounter. To say that our rooms were unclean would be an understatement. They were downright filthy and infested with both cockroaches and bedbugs. It was a distressing and unsanitary environment that left us questioning the hygiene standards of this purported 4-star establishment. The room service was equally subpar. Not only did it fail to meet basic standards, but the staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive to our concerns. It's disheartening when a hotel cannot ensure a minimum level of cleanliness and comfort. Adding insult to injury, the absence of a water refilling station in a supposedly 4-star hotel is absurd. This is a basic amenity that even budget accommodations provide. The lack of such a fundamental service calls into question the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction and well-being. But the absurdities didn't end there. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that room service charges extra for providing basic plates and cutlery. In what universe does a hotel, especially one claiming four stars, nickel and dime its guests for such essentials? It's a blatant and unacceptable money-grabbing tactic that only served to deepen our dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the front desk proved to be utterly useless for anything beyond a superficial greeting. Our attempts to address the myriad issues we encountered were met with indifference and unresponsiveness. It became abundantly clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority for the staff at the Grand Excelsior Hotel. In conclusion, our stay at the Grand Excelsior Hotel was a regrettable decision that marred what should have been a pleasant experience. The unclean rooms, lackluster room service, absence of basic amenities, and unhelpful front desk have left an indelible mark of disappointment. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice and explore more reputable options. This establishment falls far short of the standards one would expect from a purported 4-star hotel. โญ๏ธ

The housekeeping services are pathetic..The reception people never listen to u & make you starve for water which they are supposed to give at your Room. All items have to be demanded like towel, toiletries, Iron & they are given after 3-4 reminders. Staff is Rude towards guests - I donโ€™t know they behave in same way to all or only to outsiders. Its better to go for 3 star Hotel rather than so called 4 star.

Not at all a good hotel, if you are looking for a Dubai experience. Itโ€™s like a 2 star hotel which provides a basic stay and average food. We went as a family with a toddler. They gave us a un clean room with cobwebs and no sunlight, after requesting and much resistance from their side they changed our room. But not to a good one. They basically have rooms from below average to very good ones. I am not sure why they gave us such a bad room if it was discrimination as some hotels do when you are with kids or if it was racism. I saw better rooms with carpets and good furniture. Our room was really basic - no carpet and age old stinky furniture. Also do not fall for the โ€˜bathtubโ€™ trap, those are in every room but so bad that you wonโ€™t even step in it.

We went for a relaxing vacation. We were welcomed whole-kindheartedly. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were shifted to another room due to "electricity & water" issues on out floor which was tedious. Room service was very slow and we had to go to the reception often to change our room keys as they didn't work well. Menu for the breakfast was also repeated in every 3 days.

my disappointment with the recent experience I had during my stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, the customer service provided by your staff fell significantly below my expectations. At the restaurants, there was a lack of attentiveness and courtesy. Also, well bellboy was a little rude and creepy when I asked him for change he was like you can have your money. I believe that constructive feedback is crucial for improvement, and I hope you take this as an opportunity to address the issues within your team. A positive and welcoming atmosphere is key to the success of any hospitality establishment, and regrettably, this was lacking during my recent stay.

I had 3 rooms for 7 Nights. The rooms are quite big and good to accomodate the large bags and movement within rooms. The staff is also soft spoken. But there are several problems: - The hotel is strictly 3 star and not 4 star - Rooms No. 401 had issues with AC Cooling and water choked in the bathroom but never got repaired during our stay even after multiple complaints. - Out of the 3 sides, one one sides have a view of the city whereas rest 2 sides you would find building straight into your head. - There is some damp smell in room 401 and it never went. - The bathroom doors need serious repair work as they are difficult to close. - Early check IN is a headache and they strictly follow 3PM guidelines even though rooms are available. Although got 1 room an hour prior due to child. - You will find a cockroach in the bathroom even after they clean. - Changing Towels is a curse for them as they would do only after multiple reminders - Breakfast is decent but heavily crowded, so getting a clean table is a war

Horrible!!! Dirty, stinky, old. Avoid this hotel. I arrived in the hotel late night, the electrical socket for water boiler did not work.I had to call them and they had to replace the boiler too. The charge phone and tablet it was a nightmare. The furniture is all in bad conditions. In the bathroom I found every day insects. Laundry I had to call many time to get it back after 2 days. The breakfast was always missing cups for coffee or tea. And it was in a very small room and hygiene was lacking. The worst thing: when y leave the hotel the Manager insists very rudely that you wrote immediately a 5 star review on the hotel and on booking. He wants to be sure that you rate the hotel at top! Now I understand why so much nice opinions! Honestly a nightmare

I went to the rooftop after checking in. It had all the facilities to cheer me up after a long journey. I choose to soak up in Dubai's sunshine on the comfortable sun loungers. As I was very hungry, I ordered some fresh salads, snacks, and beverages from the Pool Lounge. The taste was excellent. I would love to come back again.

I stayed at this hotel during my trip to Dubai. I was simply in awe of their services, especially the lip-smacking cuisines they had on offer. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided were indeed mouthwatering, and I kept craving after every meal. I will give a big shoutout to everyone to book their stay when in Dubai.

This hotel deserves 1 star. The room was average (I found 1 cockroach under the mug and 1 dead cockroach under the notepad.) but the bathroom was very bad.The bathtub was very dirty. After complaining, they gave me a new room (which was slightly better, but still the bathtub and bathroom corners weren't cleaned well). The next day, I had to wait for food for half an hour because they forgot to update the room. After clarifying, they left me in. And the front desk staff was rude.Especially one girl whose name starts with "T...... R.." I don't know what work the hotel gives her; she is always busy. If I ask her anything, she'll say ask with others or come up with other reasons. Then why is she standing there? They act like they are letting us stay for free. The breakfast area in the morning is really crowded. When we spend so much money, we deserve good service. Among all the hotels I've stayed at so far, this was the worst one. I really wished I could have opted for another hotel for that much money.

We stayed in the vice roy suite. There are a few pros and many cons. Pros, first: 1. Spacious room 2. Most service staff are nice and approachable 3. Many well-maintained facilities - pool, spa, hotels, sauna, gym, etc. Cons: 1. Room filled with tiny cockroaches. Multiple complaints didn't solve it. 2. Absolutely no ventilation in the room. 3. Bathroom flush and hand shower wasn't properly functional. 4. Slow service - we used to ask for a towel and only hope that it arrived. Sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't, and other times, it would arrive after hours. 5. Terribly loud music playing through the night with booming bass, up until 3 am. Just couldn't sleep. 6. The breakfast place was a mess and poorly coordinated. Although the spread was good, it was filled to the brim with people at all times and messy. 7. Doesn't have the look or feel of a 4 star hotel.

0 star hotel on check in we told them we have Dhow cruise to go so they were like u need to wait what can i do in that case. Although there where 3 people on desk and only 1 was working. We waited for like 40 min.(i think her name is Natasha very rude girl) Very very rude and unprofessional people The room where very smelly even the washroom and the towels On repeating asking for change they were like they are not smelly we do not have room After a long talk on desk we got rooms that too very far away 2 family staying away on trip so fun right That room was also smelly No basic amenites Front desk where like we are best but they were very rude Breakfast was also not served properly Like nothing was worth it

It was our first wedding anniversary, so we threw a grand dinner party. I decided to host the party at the poolside. To my admonishment, it accommodated all our guests. I wanted a customized menu for my guests, and the chefs were more than happy to cater to my request. The service was awesome, and the food too. They arranged for a special outdoor catering for our gala event.

A typical mid market Dubai property. Well appointed rooms, though quite compact. Front desk staff smart and helpful. Good location. Nothing to report on the views from the room. Not tried the restaurant or gym.

It was my first visit to the city of gold. I booked a deluxe room at the Grand Excelsior Hotel, Bur Dubai. The room was luxurious, with ample natural light and windows overlooking the city. The dรฉcor of the room almost instantly captured my eyes and mind. The housekeeping staffs were also friendly and answered our calls immediately.

My experience at this hotel was incredibly disappointing. Despite booking for two nights, I couldn't bear to stay even one. Coming from afar, I had hoped for a relaxing vacation, but instead, my stay was marred by numerous disappointments. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment, especially for families. The surroundings at night were unsettling, with inappropriate imagery and numbers scattered about. The room itself was not up to par, with cleanliness concerns and unpleasant odors permeating the space. Overall, it was a regrettable experience that I would advise others to avoid.
