Young crowd of good natured, well behaved, international travellers. Great staff, excellent rooms, and a clean, tidy, well appointed environment. Great common spaces and facilities. Thoroughly recommended.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and spent one full day in Granada. Although we had a very short trip, the hostel made it a really rich experience and gave us a more authentic understanding of Granada life and culture. I loved the city tour and the sangria hour, all for free! Considering all the activities and resources they provided, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the number of amenities, the price was amazingly affordable. It was my first time staying in a hostel, and although I was nervous at first, I could have easily spent the whole weekend in the hostel exploring its charm. Very friendly staff and delicious, reasonably priced breakfast too! If you are young, want to meet new people, or have a limited time in Granada, I couldn’t recommend this hostel more to visit the city.

Great hostel that had more of a hotel vibe at the entrance. They run activities every day and also have cheap volunteer made dinners. Very easy to meet people, I can highly recommend this hostel!

My stay in ECO hostel was fantastic this summer. The kitchen social area is made of recycled materials and has musical instruments and books. There is also a hammock area and a really cool balcony with a great view of Granada The staff are great too and even host walking tours.

In this hostel you can meet other travellers and create friendship because you have a nice common room area (sofa, tables, tv room, books and board games) The staff are super friendly too and helpful. They offer a night self-check in option if you arrive outside of reception hour. They also offer walking tours, family dinner for some money and free sangria (perfect for socialising) I found the hostel clean. Bedrooms look good but they are not that practical. The locker under the bed is too small for a big rucksack and it doesn’t allow you to put a lock on it. Beds are wobbly therefore you can feel every move of the person bellow. There aren’t any bed curtains so no privacy. However the mattress is comfy and there is a plug and a little light for every bed in the dorm. My room had a small balcony which was great to leave shoes and all to dry. The building is big but there is an elevator.

This hostel was so cozy and cute!!! There were so many secluded spots around the hostel to find a quiet spot but you could also always find someone to talk to in the kitchen - there was also a working space that was great! The kitchen was really nice and spacious (just no oven). They also had pretty cheap group dinners, cheap breakfast options, and free sangria every night!!! Very good vibes :)

I've travelled a bit, and this was by far the best hostel ive ever stayed at! Absokutely nothing to fault. Nice staff, clean rooms, lots of aocial events to connect but also heaps of space to chill if you want time alone. Just perfect.

Super fun, nice staff. If you're not totally physically able, make sure to ask for a bottom bunk ahead of time! Beds are very high up sometime.

While the hostel is clean and the personel is friendly, there is not much "eco" about it aside from some of the furniture beeing upcycled. While I was taking part in a hike organised by the hostel and guided by one of the nice volunteers, the Bocadillo/Sandwich was packed in aluminum foil. The hike itself was nice and so was the "paella experience" event but concerning both I felt they were a bit overpriced (17€ for the hike including tickets for the public transport and 10€ for the paella, including one cup of sangria and a few side dishes). What bothered me the most though was the lack of privacy in the bedroom. There are no curtains, walls whatsoever around the beds and I have experienced much better layouts in other hostels. Last but not least there is the strange rule in this hostel that one can't bring any alcoholic drinks from outside in order to buy the drinks from the hostel. While the prices are totaly reasonable with 1€/beer I've never experienced such rules in any hostel and I've been in like 15 different hostels so far in Spain.

Incredible stay at Eco Hostel in January 2023! The hostel is beautifully designed with inviting common areas, including a designated working area. The upstairs kitchen and dining room are also well-maintained and the site of community dinners... definitely do not miss these, sangria hour, or the daily walking tour up to an awesome overlook of Granada and Alhambra. I really liked the pod setup in my 6-bed dorm with ensuite bathroom that was kept very clean due to prompt service each day. My most minor of critiques is that the laundry service costs a bit more than most other hostels I've stayed in – but I got my clothes back quickly so it may just be worth it. I cannot recommend Eco Hostel enough!

Wonderful Experience. People do speak English too so no problem with the conversation. Food is okay as per price . Service was super.

Free sangria at night is nice to talk to people and get to know them. Good service too and good rooms.

The location was good, place was pretty clean! Staffs were nice, common areas also looked good. Just the lockers are too small to securely store things, and it was hard to keep quiet to use washroom and sink.

I was really looking forward to my stay at Eco hostel but had to cancel due to my partner's mother passing away. I was quite shocked and disappointed that in these circumstances the hostel could not be more accommodating by offering me alternative dates when I could stay.

Maybe my favorite hostel I’ve stayed at! Not a party hostel on location but always groups going out each night. Plenty of daily activities and an awesome staff. On the smaller side too, which was nice!

Best hostel! Great value, great location. Very social in a chill way. Comfortable rooms. Family dinner and free sangria.

I stayed a week in a female dorm and absolutely loved it! The hostel is one of the cleanest and prettiest I've ever been to and the beds are very comfy. It's very easy to meet people as a solo traveler cause there's a "family dinner" every evening but it's not a party hostel which I really liked. I can recommend the walking tour where you will see a beautiful sunset and the hike (which is harder than advertised). Amazing staff and volunteers!

This is genuinely now my favorite hostel, it was so nice I met so many great people, the rooms are nice, the amenities are amazing, great location and beautiful building. They do a free sunset walking tour every evening with a great tour guide :). Sangria and family dinner every night too. The staff is so so lovely. I felt right at home. Highly recommend getting the breakfast. Truly had the most amazing stay and was so sad when I had to leave. Will definitely be coming back :)

My wife and I stayed here and were very impressed. We booked a private room and the bed was very comfortable. We like the free sangria in the evenings and the family dinner. It is in a good central location and is close to everything. The breakfast in the morning is very good at a reasonable cost.

THE BEST HOSTEL I’VE STAYED IN!!! The personal and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. The free WalkingTour is so fun and you see an incredible sunset. They have “family dinner” everyday and it’s soooo good, specially the Tacos! Is great cause you get to meet so many people. The rooms are so clean and nice. I totally recommend it. 10/10. Coming back for sure!!!!

I haven't been in such a friendly hostel for a long time. Cleanliness, politeness and certain standards are what everyone expects. But Eco Hostel flashed me with the family atmosphere, free walk through the city, a sangria with the staff and the cosmopolitan guests in the lovingly furnished salón. What's more, dinner is cooked together on request and breakfast is very reasonably priced, with everything from vegan to New-York-Breakfast. This accommodation is a must-see on a trip to Granada😉

The NICEST service!! My friend and I were shown incredible care by Paula and Matthew. We had an issue with our room, and they went above and beyond to help us. Highly recommend this place!

  • 5/5 Simon R. 6 months ago on Google
Very nice and clean rooms. The volunteers/workers are really friendly. The rooms to the street are a bit noisy. I would recommend the hostel for a good stay in Granada!

A good hostel. I stayed in the 4 ladies dormitory and was not disappointed. The room is very bright thanks to the big window (there is even one in the bathroom). The bed is comfy. The place is mostly quiet so it helps sleeping at night. The room has enough space. Not too far from the city center. However I think they can add another mirror in the room, as the only one we have was just inside the bathroom.

Fantastic Hostel with a great staff and an awesome atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly, the beds were super comfortable, and all of the facilities were really clean, well appropriated, and the whole hostel felt safe. So so many free perks of staying here (Sangria, anyone?) they also offer breakfast and dinner for a charge (cheap, and tons of food, so totally worth it!) and lots of other activities for groups! It’s also very centrally located in Granada, and within reasonable walking distance of the monuments and nightlife, as well as the university. Also very close to the main bus routes if you’re looking to go farther afield! Amazing experience and I’m so glad I chose to stay here!

They canceled my reservation at right the day. They said it was because my credit card I had sent didn't work. But they didn't try to discuss with me and just canceled it without telling me anything. I got to know the news through checking the reservation app, not from them, while I was on the bus going to the Granada. I did never expect it because I had received a lot of information about rules to use this hostel even a day before. I totally lost where to sleep at that night. It was so scaring and making me feel black-out because it was popular season(Easter week) and I knew there weren't many hostels available. Fortunately, I found another hostel... but it was horrible experience. I won't visit this hostel again.

The best hostel I have ever been to !! The staff were so helpful ! They have drinks in the evening which brings everyone together so you get to meet lots of lovely people!! The rooms were very clean and had air conditioning. The reception was very helpful in booking activities for us. A 10/10 hostel that I would defiantly come back to! Thank you eco hostel, you made our stay amazing !

Hi, First of all I must say that in general the Eco Hostel makes a good impression. Everything was very clean and professional. What was not so great was that only a small part of the guests wore a mask. On request, of course, the understanding of the displeasure came from the employees (which, by the way, I was very sorry) but also with the indirect statement that you just could not enforce. When we came back late in the evening, a friendly tour guide stood in the entrance area without a mask and all the participants as well. So you can say it was directly disregarded. The worse is that the population strictly adheres to the measures although mask compulsion in public is no longer required only indoors. So most of the guests wore their masks outside and then took them off again inside the building. Intelligent I must say. I'm really sorry to see how almost all of them are keeping to it only the hostel guests are not. At the end of the evening there was a party in the big common room, of course without a mask. After all, one is in the building and the virus remains at the door. We had booked ourselves extra a room to deal maturely with the situation but this visibly shocked us. We have been to many hostels/pensions and this was the only one so far that didn't really care, it's all about human lives. I have lost a turned and find it simply inhumane and abhorrent to deal with such ignorance. Disappointing all along the line. So I advise anyone with some morals and emotional intelligence to avoid this hostel. I will be claiming my money back through Hostelworld and sending my photos/reactions to the Spanish Ministry of Health and Central Government. Shame on you in the name of the poor population that was in lockdown for months and in the name of all who suffer. Ps. The one star is for the employees who always wore a mask and probably simply because of the greed of their owner can not enforce this. Cheers

Lovely hostel to stay at, nice kitchen and common area. The volunteers do a great job! Nice events as the walking tour, homemade dinners or free sangria. Would stay again when in Granada!

I absolutely loved this hostel. The room and bathroom (stayed in a 4 female dorm) were very clean and spacious. There is a workspace on the bottom level; it was nice to sit and relax down there and there is another room you can socialize in on the 4th floor. The staff was so friendly and always there if needed! Breakfast was delicious too. We paid for breakfast-- not sure if there is a plan where it is included but it was inexpensive so it was fine. Also, in a perfect location. Walking distance to everywhere you need to go. There are buses to the Alhambra but we walked so if you plan your day enough it is fine. Thank you eco hostel for such a great stay!

Staff are friendly. They arrange walking tours. You've got everything you need. Except earbuds. And my phone's charger kept falling off the socket. But they gave me an adaptor at the reception. So pretty happy

This has honestly been the cutest hostel I’ve ever been to! Everybody is super nice, the location is perfect, it’s very clean and the prices are totally fine for what you get! I ended up extending my stay here cause i love it so much. And it’s just so aesthetically pleasing 😍

I stayed here for two weeks and I wish I stayed more. The hostel has a very welcoming vibe that makes it feel like home. The rooms were very comfy and overall very clean. The staff was the nicest, they were very friendly to talk to. The hostel vibe and common areas catered for so many interactions, the huge kitchen with sofas and a TV room had everyone huddle at night over homemade hot wine. The volunteers also organized great events every day. The hostel has a coworking space with great wifi for those who are working remotely on the move. It could get a bit too busy over breakfast but soon after it's quiet again. They pay great attention to really being Eco, you can see it from the decorations to the DIY things around. Couldn't find anything to complain about :) everything was wonderful.

  • 5/5 Paul R. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing hostel, which has people working in the place who actually organize a lot of going outs and we ended up partying wildly in Grenada ! The hostel is super neat too and the common spaces are also really design and useful to make friends. You’ll definitely have a good time and meet people 🔥

I don't understand why this hostel has been rated so highly. Pros: - Nice location and good facilities Cons: - Very little effort from the staff when we checked in. No map reading was given, despite it being promised on hostel world and thee hostels website. They also didn't even tell us what events the hostel did. - You couldn't bring your own alchol into the hostel to drink. I understand why some hostels have this rule, but if you do have this rule at least have some variety in what you can offer instead if just one type of beer (no sangria or mojitos were available despite it saying on the board they were available to drink). - There was very little effort from the distaff to engage with the guests. After family dinner was cooked, all the staff sat together and didn't attempt to talk to or engage with the guests. I don't expect my criticism to be taken seriously as I have seen that the hostel has replied to almost all of the negative reviews in a defensive and dismissive manner. We did have a great time in Granada but none of that was due to the hostel. If you are wanting a hostel that engages with its guests and wants to make their experiences unique, stay somewhere else 🙂

Best hostel I've ever been to. Great location, good beds, good shower, clean bathrooms, staff are very friendly, food in the café is great, co-working area is nice, solid internet, lockers available. They organise proper activities like a big paella dinner for everyone or walks of Granada and hikes around the area. If you get the chance to the dinner in a cave, do it. Absolutely fantastic hostel.

  • 2/5 Sophie 2 years ago on Google
The eco thing is all a brand. They talk about limiting water use, plastic pollution etc yet serve animal products almost every day as part of their ‘family dinners’ and everyday at their cafe. There’s no excuse to take part in the single biggest cause of climate change. The activities are all pretty overpriced - €17 for the Sierra Nevada hike included my vegan packed lunch of a lettuce & tomato sandwich with a carrot for dessert?! Another point is they don’t allow hand washes in the bathrooms but charge €10 for laundry. You’re not allowed your own alcohol on the premises - you have to buy from them of course. They really do try and make money off absolutely everything so I’d be wary of this. Other than all of that, it’s a pretty decent hostel with a nice space.

  • 5/5 Eden L. 1 year ago on Google
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!! Service and helpfulness like in a 5 star hotel, comfy beds, clean, fun, great atmosphere, and great location! They organise fun things to do every night so it’s easy to meet people too. Noise doesn’t really travel throughout the place so it’s easy to just chill. The only thing I recommend improving is putting curtains on the bed for more privacy. Either way, I highly recommend !!!

  • 5/5 Rosalie van der H. 1 year ago on Google
One of the nicest hostels I’ve been. Also great for meeting other people and doing activities together. Already missing the sangria and family dinners every night. Thumbs up for the volunteers.

  • 5/5 Ryan C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice living space, great common areas, lots of hostel events. They make good breakfast too! Lockers are a bit small, can't fit a whole bag, but you can fit some valuable things. Overall really great, I would recommend it to anybody.

  • 5/5 Audrey 1 year ago on Google
Good staff, good travelers, good sangria but also calm rooms and staff very flexible (with arrivals time and luggages) this hostel diserves his reputation in Granada
