😠 Used to be a customer for at least 8 years. I know the times when the food was served in a proper way (also with decent quality and portion sizes were ok as well.) However our last 2 experiences can be classified as bad to terrible. Service quality is terrible, waited for 30 minutes for the waitres...     Used to be a customer for at least 8 years. I know the times when the food was served in a proper way (also with decent quality and portion sizes were ok as well.) However our last 2 experiences can be classified as bad to terrible. Service quality is terrible, waited for 30 minutes for the waitress and another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Food was bad, we have ordered club sandwich (used to be very nice in the past). Now the sandwich is actually deep fried chicken nuggets in between 2 slices of bread for EUR 12. Our order has arrived however, we had to ask for services and waited at least another 10 minutes to receive them on the table. Fried chicken nuggets were cold along with very cold slices of eggs. In general it was the worst experience i have seen for a very long time Avoid ordering hot food if possible. What a shame that once that was a nice place turned into this. We will never eat there again.

    It is a good place with good service and good food. We loved the view from the restaurant. Our favourite was the knoflook gamba and the spicy chicken. Kids were given a paper which has some puzzles and pictures to colour.

    Good food, terrible service. Each bier took at least 15min to arrive to our table, food about 1 hour and apertizers came 30min after main dishes.

    I visited de Beren in the past (pre covid) and I never had a bad experience. Unfortunately now that has changed. We waited more than an hour to receive our starters! Hour and a half, almost two hours to receive our main dishes! The prices for starters are ridiculous. 9 euros for six slices of corn, outrages. 6 euros for two small buns of bread. Burger was blend, the only thing I liked were the sweet potato fries. I would not recommend this restaurant. It was my son's first time there, and he says he'll never return. Step up your game Beren!

    It's a comfortable and beautiful place, the Tornedor was amazing, the meat at spot on, well seasoned and the staff were kind, fast and helpful. I'm sure they'll see me a lot more time!

    "Is alles naar wens?” It appears to be a standard practice for this restaurant to ask customers, 'Is alles naar wens?' However, it seems that they do not genuinely pay attention to the responses provided. Typically, they approach the table at the beginning of the meal to inquire if everything is satisfactory. Initially, one might feel inclined to answer positively in order to proceed with their meal, especially when the food takes a considerable amount of time to arrive, causing hunger to build up. However, upon settling the bill, they pose the same question again. In this instance, I decided to share my thoughts on their American pancake, which I found slightly disappointing as it seemed to be a store-bought, pre-packaged item. The waitress responded by claiming ignorance about the preparation process and distancing herself from the issue. I attempted to explain further, but she appeared completely disinterested and interrupted me. I would suggest that the management reconsiders the necessity of requiring their waitstaff to ask customers this question if they are not willing to listen to or address the responses provided. No apologies were offered, nor were any explanations provided as to why their pancakes are not freshly made. On the other note, the restaurant is spacious and seems clean. It is good for some drinks that do not require any special preparation.

    Been client for years. Unfortunately I cannot give a better review. We went on 28/06/2021. We sat on table 204. The shop was barely having more than 15 tables with people. Arrived at 17:30. We ordered and we waited. Drinks came early, starter also. but food came only at 19:00!!!! at 18:30 they informed us it was been prepared and was busy.. (half full). I would expect to tell us we forgot it, we will prepare it. Food was also average when before it was really nice. All the tables arrived after us where already eating their main course. I would not suggest anymore de beren.

    We asked for a window seat and despite the place bring quite full there was one 4 person table that had just become available. They quickly cleaned it for us and we could sit there even though we were just 2 adults. The food was really good too, very tasty coffee, great view over the Weerwater!

    Nice location and restaurants but the quality of the food is in my opinion very lacking. There does not seem to be any type of sophistication on the flavours whatsoever. Prices are not too high which makes the price for quality ratio how it should be though.

    After waiting for 40 minutes we got our steaks without forks and knives. Steaks were so awful that even being very hungry after work, we returned it. It was without any flavor. Impossible to eat for 35 euro per each. And after it we were waiting for our bill for another 20 minutes. The evening was ruined and finished with conversation with manager. Manager was very nice, apologized and removed steaks from the bill. That was the only good thing in this restaurant. Highly not recommend.

    Carpaccio meat was not cold, however added garnish made the plate really nice (not sure about mayonnaise though). The grilled salmon was nice, but very salty. Service was very slow. Good selection of food. Navigating digital page for English menu was very complicated as several QR codes made it misleading and even difficult for house waiter to find.

    Avocado sandwich was without any butter or bread spread, there was no tomato either, eggs were fried but were served cold. Too many ladies working in the restaurant but service is poor. Restaurant only has advantage of by the lake location, only good for beverages.

    Food is mediocre, or less. Most people can cook better at home. Waitress are sweet and friendly but, the food is served very slow. Waited more than 1 hour for the main dish. Location and the atmosphere is good.

    Although it's a typical family restaurant, due to covid they have lost a lot... Hygiene This was really bad. Dishes where served with old food stuck to the outside... Portions Appearantly this to has turned into a way to save on expenses. Drinks now cost 3 euro (or more) for a small bottle of coke/ soda, but also the dishes have been downscaled. The portion of salad is rather small, as is the meat. The visual of the plate is boring and not really attractive. View The restaurant has a very nice view.over the water. Especially during sunset, the view is really awesome. But...you can also sit outside and watch this from one of the public couches outside 😀

    Really good quality of the salad, the soup and the burger plate. Fresh and warm bread was served. Nice view on the sea. Comfortable atmosphere and kind service. For sure coming again

    Today was my second time eating in this place and it was truly AWFUL. So sad. I ordered BBQ spareribs with fries. I couldn’t believe how much fat those ribs had, very little meat on it and barely any bbq sauce on it. They were not fresh. First time I ate there (back in March this year) the ribs where amazing but quality today was terrible. So sad. Definitely not going back.

    In the past I had some bad experiences with this place; multiple times where I had to wait 2 to 3 hour for the food to be served after having our order taken, with a movie to catch afterwards. Which was all part of a combined food and movie deal. But nonetheless, I've kept coming here. I love the food and the waiting times for the food haven't been as bad as of recent times. They serve quality food and the employees are nice. They truly are my go-to spare rib place.

    The food was delicious, but the service was what stood out for me. I had accidentally knocked over my drink and, without a second of hesitation, we had a waiter at our table sorting it out for us. We didn't even get the chance to call someone over. The staff were very helpful and absolutely lovely. The restaurant was also decorated completely in Christmas theme which looked stunning.

    Nice, beauty deco and very funky menu. Have a long list of lattes mixes. I loved it. The sandwich were crazy big and delicious.

    Tried veg bitterballen for first time. Surprisingly good! Had to wait for service a bit but overall nice and friendly staff.

    It took quite a long time to get served. Food was ok, but we got surprise items on our bill that we never ordered. We assume it's a honest mistake (they did not close the tab for the table after the previous customers), but we only noticed after paying. We visited the place multiple times pre-pandemic and I can only say things got worse in terms of service, food quality and prices.

    In love with the food here. The quality is good. I would recommend this restaurant. Tip: Try truffle mayo with sweet patao chips.

    You never sure that they're listening you while you are order something. I ordered calamari but it didn't come and they didn't inform me that it doesn't exist.

    Nice large place to sit outside. Food was Ok, but service is not so good. It took over 45 minutes for a tuna melt and a chicken wrap to be served. We also ordered water with lemon and got half a slice of lemon. When asking for extra slices, we were just ignored. Seems like the personnel is quite new (which is understandable after the long Covid shutdown). But I think they need some more training and the kitchen needs to be improved for speed. Might come here again, and if it is improved will most likely increase the star rating.
