The Amarāvati Stupa, popularly known as the great stūpa at Amarāvathi, is a ruined Buddhist monument, probably built in phases between the third century BCE and about 250 CE, at Amaravathi village, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a beautiful place, peaceful and wonderful! Loved this place! The site is under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India. The campus includes the stūpa itself and the Archaeological Museum

Entry ticket: 25/- There is a big Stupam of Buddhist monks. Just that. Nothing more.🤷‍♂ You can take photos around here. 𝙉𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙮 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨:😍 Buddhist Museum, a wonderful visit at just Rs.5 Dhyana Buddha statue, a must visit. Just Rs.20 Amareswara Swamy temple. All at 'walking distance' only.

Nothing is there as it shown in the pictures and previous reviews. It was all demolished and kept in museum. Its better to go to museum directly rather than going to actual stupa.

Amaravthi ancient capital for many kingdoms. It was ruled by Mauryas, Satavahanas, Ikshvakus, Vishnukundina, Pallavas, Cholas, Kakatiyas etc. Amara Lingeswara Swamy Temple is very famous in this town. And also Buddhism Stupa became more popular in recent days. Stupa is like other normal stupas only if you have free time you may visit it.

Amaravathi stupam is a remarkable monument that showcases the rich heritage and culture of Buddhism in India. I had the opportunity to visit this stupam last year and I was amazed by its beauty and significance. The stupam is located on the banks of the Krishna river, in the village of Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh. It was built in the 2nd century BCE by the Satavahana kings, who patronized Buddhism and art. The stupam is circular in shape, with a diameter of 50 meters and a height of 27 meters. It has four gateways, each adorned with intricate carvings of Buddha and his life stories. The stupam also contains relics of Buddha, such as his teeth and bone fragments, which are enshrined in a small chamber at the center. The stupam is a symbol of peace, harmony and enlightenment, and it attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the world. I felt a sense of awe and reverence as I walked around the stupam, admiring its architecture and history. I also learned a lot about the teachings and values of Buddhism, which inspired me to live a more compassionate and mindful life. Amaravathi stupam was a memorable experience for me, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the ancient and spiritual aspects of India.
