Great family based hotel with wonderful service. We arrived at about half nine at night, with no prior booking, and there were two people including an English speaker ready to help. Good food, reasonably priced, very close to the monastery with great views from the room

Nice hotel and friendly staff. It’s close to the old monastery which is very convenient because it allows you to be there early in the morning so you can make it there earlier then the tourist busses. The automatic lights in the hallway didn’t always work very reliably so watch your steps on the staircase when it’s dark

We had a lovely stay! The hotel is family owned and is super cozy. There is a nice fireplace to warm up after a rainy day. The breakfast and dinner where amazing! Our dinner came right out of the garden and was slow cooked on the stove. Mohammed is an excellent host and he speaks very good English!

Really great proximity to Sumela and Vazelon monasteries. Neriman helped us massively by loaning us some fuel so we could get to a station to fill up and avoid trouble. Our room was clean, modern and had a great view of the mountain across the river. The food is the kind that you can tell has been passed down the family and perfected... delicious!

Iskalita hotel was the perfect location for us to see Sumela Monastery. The scenery is beautiful and the staff was very kind and friendly. Neriman and Mohammed put a lot of effort into making sure the guests’ stay is a pleasant one. Would highly recommend.

I want to thank Muhammet, the host of Iskalita, for the hospitality. He is also the hotel cook, made great breakfasts, dinners and especially the delicious Sütlaç (which reminded me of the Albanian Kos Shtëpije). When I needed tools to fix my film camera, Muhammet drove with me to the nearest town, and found exactly what I was looking for. I also liked the hotel, especially the view, the smooth sound of the mountain river beneath, and the guard dog. Will definitely stay there again.

The room was very clean and comfortable with three large windows looking at beautiful views. The WiFi is good if you need it. The breakfast is excellent and the woman (I forgot her name) is very nice and accommodating. I arrived really late at 2am to check in and the owner was really kind with letting me in, as some other small hotels have caused trouble when I have arrived so late. The location is pretty special as well as it is so close to the monastery. A beautifully relaxing stay.

This is a beautiful hotel in an even better location! The rooms are spacious and well kept. I was in Turkey for a month and the bed was one of the most comfortable we slept in. At the foot of the hotel is a bridge over a river which you can hear clearly if you open the windows. The value is just absolutely fantastic being so close to the Sumela Monestary. Fantastic hospitality as well! Our hosts were very friendly and patient with the language barrier.

Not expensive small hotel. But so close to monastery. Its very easy to go by car (10 min) . very nice view, after crowed City this place is small paradise. So quite and so fresh air. We were sleeping like babies. I wish we had a chance to stay one more night to have time just relax on the balcony. Hotel is clean, staff are friendly ad helpful. Price is perfect for location and service. Thank you!
