Jiwa Jawa is my ultimate favorite Indonesian restaurant in Amersfoort. They sell comfort foods that make me feel like eating at my mom’s dining table in Indonesia. The food quality, taste, and authenticity are superb! The staffs are very kind and friendly. Simply highly recommended! I will not say more. Come and experience it yourself! 🫶🏼

Authentic and very delicious Indonesian cuisine! The best bakso (meatballs) and mie ayam we’ve ever had in the Netherlands! Because they have a small space, it is very recommend to make reservation.

I discovered this jewel a few months ago and have been back 6 times already. It’s by far the best place in town to have authentic Indonesian food. All their dishes are cooked with fresh ingredients every day which makes all the difference. The owners are also very friendly and accommodating. Although all their dishes are delicious, I highly recommend trying Ikan saus Gulai (menu), sate Kambing, Bami Goreng, Nasi Goreng Kampung.

I definitely recommend this place to everyone! I especially like the sate they serve. It tastes incredible! Very authentic to the original sate in Indonesia. We also tried the daging semoor and daging rendang menu, which also taste incredible. However, the boontjes/buncis is too spicy for my liking. To top it off, the shrimp crackers are amazing. Though a bit expensive, I think it's really worth it. Tastes like home! The staffs are also very friendly and warm. The place has a very nice ambience and feel to it.

Small shop for Indonesian food in Amersfoort taste really nice itfrsh cook for each of dish Apart from good service form, staff is amazing they even recommended the right portion, not just want to sell as much as possible Shop it quite small. Hence, if you have a small kid or senior, better order, take home Strongly recommended for anyone in Amersfoort or nearby who is looking for Indonesian food, you gonna love this restaurant 😋

Authentic Javanese food with superb sambal. We had nasi rames, including one vegan with jackfruit rendang. The owner and employee are friendly. As an Indonesian from central java, I am happy with that finally I find javanese culinary with original taste in NL. Highly recommended! Salam sukses, mas Syaiful dan mas Hendra.

Drive from Almere only to visit this homey Indonesian warung, I do love the story of the chef/owner mas Saiful Bahri in their website, and of course he is from East Java which is famous with strong taste cuisine compare to other Java province. I came for Bakso, Es Cendol, Sate Kambing and Nasi Udang Bakar Pedis. Spoiling my tounge since I could not visit Indoensia bcs of pandemic, I finally found the best Bakso, Sate Kambing to dine in. And enjoying special taste of Es Cendol, that remind me of my grandma, we had a good memories with Es cendol from the market at my hometown. And Jiwa Jawa really bring the authenticity of Indonesian food. Sate kambing: Ohh the juicy meat in medium well, blended in tasty sauce, with acar/pickles and slices of shallot, the lontong (rice block) was super good! The best home made lontong I ever had in NL Bakso Krikilan Banyuwangi: You need to ask him for this menu, as it's not on the list, and I think only available in the weekend. The bakso (meat ball) is tender and chewy, perfect size and super tasty served with pokchoy + noodle plus pangsit goreng. Dont forger to add the ketjap manis + chilli sauce + sambal bakso + lime to make it super perfect just like enjoying Bakso abang-abang 😁 Es Cendol/Dawet Ayu: He added fresh jackfruit in the cendol, but it was sold out when I was there. I still insisted him to serve cendol without Nangka (jackfruit) and wowww super good! He use special brown sugar syrup, it is sweet but doesnt give you nausea feeling. The mix between coconut milk, the cendol and brownsugar syrup just make it super good and ofcourse with nangka that will be ISTIMEWA 😘 Nasi Udang Bakar Pedis: My husband love the taste of the udang and the sauce, freshly made. Tasty oseng boontjes, with egg and jasmine rice. The sambal was also superb! (Sorry no pic for this 😄, too late to capture!) Krupuk Udang: I took one pack krupuk, ans I was surprised that he served us with peanut sauce dip! This is really East Java style! We enjoy krupuk and dip it in pindakaas/sate sauce! Defenitely I will come back! Hopefully he will have more special menu from East Java to add on the list! Especially from his hometown Banyuwangi! Please bring Rujak Soto, Nasi Empong, Kesrut and many more 😘😘 Dont forget to play the rampak Osing Gamelan, that will bring us the memory of Ijen Crater! Thank you Chef Saiful! Success for you and team!

First time visiting this place and found the menu tasty. The sate was freshly roasted and has a slight touch of burnt taste that when combined with the sauce reminds me of Indonesian street sate. I also ordered a set of rendang which is tender, has a good kick of spices and herbs and not too sweet. If there is any suggestion I could make, that would be to consider using softer bread for bread sate menu. Softer texture of bread goes well with the sate though it's mostly due to the personal taste. Will definitely visit again.

They have Indonesian streetfood or other not so basic Indonesian food such as Bakso, Batagor, Cendol etc. Ask them! The food is good and authentic. Jiwa Jawa is een aanwinst voor (Indonesian living in) Amersfoort!

A hidden gem. The quality of coffee that we ordered (cappuccino and latte macchiato) was superb. The coffee is originated from Jampit, Java, Indonesia, and perfectly accompanied with crunchy Pangsit Goreng (fried dumplings). We also had Bakso Blambangan (Indonesian meatball soup) and Nasi Goreng Kampung (Javanese style fried rice). So delicious and authentic! As the restaurant is tiny, I suggest to reserve a table before going there. We will definitely come back. Thank you Mas Saiful & team!

If you look for really authentic Indonesisch food, I would highly recommended Jiwa Jawa. You should try the Baso (Indonesisch Meatballs) with pangsit goreng, es Tjendol, Sate Ayam and Gado- gado. The place is not to big but it's cozy and clean and you can come with group of 10 people to eat inside. The owner and staf are really friendly and you will accompanied with tradisional Indonesisch songs. The lication is in a center of Amersfoort plein, spo it's quite strategic. So if you visit Amersfoor Centrum, you must try to eat in Jiwa Jawa.

I was looking for something vegetarian and found this place right next to the Hof. I had Lunch box Sayuran and Jackfruit Rendang. The jackfruit was great and the egg in lunch box was delicious.

Delicious Indonesian food by friendly hosts. It’s a small restaurant/takeaway shop with seating for 9 inside. The food is quite authentic. I haven’t had batagor in 15yrs or so and it hit the spot. The lontong sate kambing was like this place I used to visit when I was a child in Indonesia. We also ordered bakso and with the home made sambal, we had a bit of a Ratatouille (Anton Ego) moment. We look forward to return again and try out the other menu items. If you want to sit down, I recommend arriving early. Cash/card accepted.

Found that restaurant by accident and convinced my team mates to go there for dinner. It's really small and the four of us occupied 2 of the three tables. We ordered vegetarian, vegan and normal meals and all were just amazingly delicious, just like I knew it from Java. One remark: No alcohol, but indonesisan coffee.

If you’re looking for authentic Indonesian dishes, this is the go-to place! Been here twice and I really love their Mie Ayam Banyuwangi, a cure to my homesickness. Their Bakso is also delicious, especially the pangsit—love them so much! I would be back for their menu—especially the Nasi Goreng Kampung. Their sambal is spicy enough for me. The service was superb and I sometimes got freebies from the owner (Mas Saiful—who is very friendly and you can talk about a lot of interesting things—if he’s not busy). The staffs were all friendly and nice!

Been living in NL for 3 years and eat out at Indonesian restaurant almost every week, but Jiwa Jawa has the best foods so far! I ordered bakso and it was amazingly tasty! Like a great bakso chain where you need to queue for hours in Indonesia. My family and friends ordered sate and ayam bumbu rujak, they testified the taste were also great. The owner is also very kind that he gave me free cendol! Very recommended and surely will be back to Amersfoort just for the foods here 😋

I had the pleasure of dining at the Indonesian restaurant in Amersfoort, and it was an incredible experience. The food here is not just delicious; it's a culinary journey to Indonesia. Saiful, the owner, is truly passionate about cooking, and it shines through in every dish. The flavors were authentic and reminded me of my family in Indonesia. What's more, Saiful's warm and friendly personality adds to the overall charm of the place. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Indonesian cuisine in Amersfoort, this restaurant is a must-visit!
