We went there for an nice lunch in their outside area next to an old church, but went inside afterwards to see all the astonishing decoration. What an ambiance! Decoration is beautiful and cozy at the same time. They have 3 floors of "Oh look at that" - moments! And the food and service are great as well. Our waitress was super friendly and patient, since we couldn't decide for some time. The food was real tasty, and they have also some Dutch classics in a modern way. I am sure it would be amazing for drinks in the evening as well. If we are ever in Amersfoort again, you will find us there.

Really good meat and veggie burger. The sweet potato fries are tasty but the sauce is spicy! Lots of good drink options in a fun atmosphere.

It is like a little amusement park inside with all the nice little stuff in it. Each level has different themes and vibes and it's nice to experience. It is kids friendly as there are small kids space where kids can play with toys.

Great all round for food, service and atmosphere. Carne place, many good steaks available including some other cuts like bavette. Fish available as well and there are a few vegetarian selections available. My skirt steak was cooked perfectly and the satay sauce with the chicken delicious. Kids were suitable impressed with their shared plate, an impressive 1 meter of food that made their eyes pop. Mind you, not quite as much as the desert plate. Top service we experienced in Amersfoort, professional and quick. Kids loved it as well, the little play area kept them busy and entertained especially with the continuous motion ball machine. Even the toilets are cool, love the fishtank! Strong recommendation from me.

This used to be our favorite spot, but lately the food has been served differently. Looks like cutting costs but same price. Pity, as I book my teams often for dinner and reluctant to keep booking if the service and food seem to be declining. Is there a new chef or owner the past three months? Always love the decor!

Nice place. It is clear that a lot of time and dedication has been put in the decoration. I recommend walking through the 3 flors. I recommend for eating the BBQ ribs and the local IPA, for desert the brownie with ice cream(the brownie was one of the bests in whole Netherlands). Note: the local IPA they have is not so bitter as you would expect from an IPA and has a great fruit taste(super recommended) The prices are on the expensive side, so I will go again but only for especially occasions (or until I get rich).

I’ve had lunch two times recently with a friend at Dikke Dirck. It can be very crowded and service can be slow but is very friendly. It’s a lovely, very fun and quirky space, and the food is good - a great menu full of comfort food. We had the eggs benedict and the tuna melt, both not fancy but very satisfying and tasty. A great choice in Amersfoort to meet up for lunch.

Great service, rarely ate so good, rarely seen such a great ambience. At first I was skeptic, when entering you see everywhere lights, moving small objects with lights and without lights, view into the kitchen, a front of a car, a sidebar full of globes, the ceiling covered in framed paintings, and much more of odd things, which I would need a translator for to find the right English word. It was full, but service was on our table right away. Skeptic feeling was immediately gone, and somehow the very odd environment became an absolutely relaxed place to be. Fascinating. If bored, you'd be able to look around for hours and still find new things around you that you haven't noticed before. Absolutely nothing matches but all together it somehow does. Kind of a mind blowing. And the food, on point, delicious, served on wooden plates, great cook. I rarely give 5 stars but this one would deserve 6. Anytime again.

Better places to be had in Amersfoort! Went there yesterday, and it was not up to par by a mile. Based on yesterdays performance, skip the place! Whats not to like you wonder? How about: - Zero hospitality for starters. Staff is more preoccupied by themselves than by servicing hungry and thirsty paying customers - speaking about paying, price food ratio is off the chart! They are trying to make up for 2 years of Covid and inflation all at once - Again on hospitality, maybe next time (which wont be happening) try and bring the side dishes within lets say 5 minutes of bringing the main courses. We just did not like our main course go without fries and veggies. - And, on bringing the coffee, next time (again which wont be happening) we would like it inside our cup, not half of it sloshed on the saucer. So, Dikke Dirck Amersfoort?.. Nah, try another place for sure!

Ribs 5/10, flat steak 10/10 plus good service and friendly staff

Pretty cool space, a little bit too much with the confusing decoration but also fun. Didn’t tried the food so cannot say about it. Had just a glass of wine that took long enough to arrive for just a glass with a not at all full bar. Suitable for people with mobility difficulties.

Ye olde building itself is very quaint, the interior design is eclectic but it lends itself to a cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff and acceptable service can be expected. The lunch menu though not an integral part of the experience is acceptable with reasonable prices and very genereus portions.

All in on the big menu. Very overwhelming and impressive, not plates but 3 times huge wooden boards, with entres, grilled meat and desserts. Worth it, but you need to be very hungry or deal with the climate impact and consience of leftovers :) It could have been perfect with 5 star all the way if the main board hadn't been luke and we had been waiting for 1 hour for that The fries even here in Holland were sloppy, asked for new ones got it right away. But wouldn't risk to wait 30 minutes more on new meat serving. Serving staff was kind and did good, but someone forgot to to call service on our main board with meat.

Dinner (reserved a table couple of days before) at a regularly busy Saturday night while a bachelor party gone rogue. Not quite the quickest service. However, the staff stayed very friendly and resolved the long waiting times with free drinks. Reasonably good food (bistro style), very decent cocktails and ambience.

The quirkiest place in town. A must for visitors. We only had coffee and cakes, so can't really say much about the quality.

Great place for some drinks and bites. Haven't tried dinner yet, but will definitely come back some time for that!
