If you’re visiting the city this has to be on your list. The history behind the tower is fascinating to say the least and the view form the top is super nice! Let it be noted it does take a lot of physical effort to climb and the stairway up is very narrow. So if you’re claustrophobic or not very stable on your feet this is not for you. Book online so you have a slot! If you don’t speak Dutch a English handout is given and you’re encouraged to ask as many questions as you’d like.

Very neat, the tour was in Dutch but the tour guide was fantastic and was happy to give English translations on important facts. I don’t remember her name but I visited on 26/04/22, so shout out to her! Learned a lot about Amersfoort’s history. Awesome views, we were able to see portions of Utrecht and Amsterdam!

With the Dutch guide you will be taken with stops up to the top of the tower, with explanations about the history and bells throughout. Very knowledgeable guide and great views make it worth a visit.

This tower is well worth the climb! There are 365 steps in total and the tour guides do an awesome job of explaining everything with passion. (If you only speak English, it's not a problem as the guide also speaks English) The view from the top is also spectacular and you can even see the Dom tower in Utrecht. And, the tower is sitting on top of the (debatable) center of Holland!

Impressi e tower with a pretty houses nearby which added up to a great walk. Currently closed but worth a visit when it reopens. It chimed every few minutes when we were there, that was also pleasant

A long walk up but very interesting history and fantastic views from the top! A long way down as well 😁

Great experience! The guide leads you up the 365 steps, with a great view over authentic Amersfoort and its surroundings. You can see Amsterdam, Utrecht, Almere and other cities from the 98-meter-high church. The church's history, historical and current use is explained during the two stops along the way up. I won't give away all the information in this short review. I can say that I highly recommend this tour.

This is one of the most captivating tourist spots in the city of Amersfoort (in my view, it is the main attraction). The local guide is well-prepared, sharing loads of details and patiently answering all the tourists' questions. For those in good physical shape, and without health concerns (like heart/respiratory issues, or claustrophobia), climbing to the top of the tower is a breeze, especially with breaks on the intermediate floors. The price is quite reasonable — I'd even say that it's really cheap. The only downside is that some parts of the tower are not open to the public (i.e., the dungeon)

Great place, nice story about, and an important spot / landmark. Tour guide told the needed information. English could be slightly better, but it told the story.

Get a beautiful view of Amersfoort with a small tour and explanation about the history of the tower. A bit on the expensive side but worth it.

The tour guide was really nice. The 1 hour at 12:30 is well timed so that by the time you get to the top, you hear the 1PM bells and another one at 1:15PM to start taking the stairs down. I don't speak Dutch (yet) so I did understand most of the tour guide's words but it's still an amazing experience.

I've climbed this tower around 10 times in total, and the view is stunning as always. For only 6.50 euros you can take a guided tour that is well worth your time and explains something about the history of the city and how the tower came to be as well! The best part is if it's a clear day, you can even see Amsterdam from the tower, all the way from Amersfoort!

What can i say. I absolutely love this tower. Huge! The main door is such a beautiful piece of art. Inside is free to look. Going all the way upstairs with tour costs about 5 euros. Get a ticket at the VVV next to the tower

A must seen sight of Amersfoort. Impressive architecture and historical value. It is worth to book a climb to the top of the tower. On a clear day the cities of utrecht and Amsterdam can be seen. The guide is friendly, he shows the visitors how the bell mechanism works and explains to them the history of the city. But only a dutch speaker can understand the guided because unfortunately they no not offer a guided tour in english.

Our guide provided us with a great tour of the tower. Very informative, funny and a great view. He was kind enough to do the tour in English for us.
