After
driving
from
the
south
of
France,
I
needed
a
stopover
before
arriving
at
Calais
the
next
day,
and
looking
of
tribal,
this
was
one
of
the
cheaper
hotels
with
parking.
Reasonable
price
of
EUR
60
for
the
night.
Arriving
at
the
destination,
there
was
little
to
no
signage
directing
where
the
hotel
was.
The
reception
area
was
fine,
staff
on
reception
cheerful
and
helpful.
The
lobby
and
stairs
up
to
the
second
floor
were
shabby
and
tired.
The
actual
room
I
stayed
in
(room
#47)
was
big
with
a
double
bed
and
a
large
sofa
converted
into
a
bed.
The
main
light
fitting
was
hanging
off
the
ceiling
by
its
wires,
one
of
the
three
bulbs
had
blown,
drawer
fronts
had
been
pulled
off
the
bedside
tables,
the
doors
on
the
free-standing
pine
wardrobe
were
ill-fitted
and
you
could
see
inside
the
wardrobe
without
opening
the
doors.
The
only
other
light
was
a
floor
standing
one
that
was
broken
but
at
least
the
light
worked
on
it.
The
bathroom
-
where
to
start
-
it
was
at
least
clean
-
however
very
tired
and
used
and
in
desperate
need
of
replacement.
The
toilet
was
stained
from
years
of
use,
toilet
seat
battered
and
bruised,
lighting
completely
inadequate,
sink
hanging
off
the
wall,
bath
stained
with
what
looked
like
a
cigarette
burn
on
the
bottom.
The
door
lock
was
unconvincing
so
I
ended
up
putting
a
chair
up
against
it
to
stop
it
being
opened
-
could
do
with
an
extra
chain
or
similar
I
think
for
security.
It
was
a
place
to
rest
my
head
for
a
few
hours
over
night,
but
nothing
more.
