I walked into Starbucks with a basic mission: get a hot Mocha, feel mildly comforted, move on with my life. I wasn’t aiming for a life-changing experience. I didn’t need gourmet. I just wanted a decent, warm cup of coffee with a little chocolate in it. Something safe. Familiar. Reliable. But what I ended up with was a confusing, lukewarm mess that somehow managed to insult both chocolate and coffee at the same time. From the first sip, I knew something was off. The drink was hot, but not in a way that made sense. It was uneven—like it had been reheated in parts, and other sections of the cup were just waiting to ambush me with surprise burns or cold spots. The chocolate syrup was overkill, and not even in a fun, indulgent way. It was thick, syrupy, and aggressively artificial—like someone tried to replicate hot cocoa from memory after a head injury. You could taste the effort. And the failure. As for the espresso, I genuinely couldn’t tell if it was in there. If it was, it didn’t show up. No boldness. No balance. No bitterness to cut through the sweetness. Just a vague coffee shadow floating somewhere in the background, like a tired intern on their first day trying not to get noticed. I kept sipping, waiting for it to “kick in,” the way a good mocha usually blends both flavors and wakes you up gently. But no. This thing dragged me down instead—each sip heavier than the last, like it wanted to pull me into a sugar-fueled sadness spiral. The whipped cream on top? That was the highlight, and that’s saying something. It disappeared in seconds, of course, melting into the drink and leaving behind a greasy film that made the texture even worse. There was no balance, no richness, no sense of quality control. It felt like someone at the espresso machine said, “Whatever, it’s a mocha, nobody cares,” and just hit a few random buttons until liquid came out. I tried to keep drinking it, hoping it would get better once it cooled. Spoiler: it didn’t. The chocolate flavor settled at the bottom into a gritty sludge, and by the time I got to the last few sips, I was questioning every decision that led me to this moment. Why didn’t I just make coffee at home? Why did I trust a chain that puts more energy into naming seasonal drinks than making them taste right? Why did I spend $5.90 on something that made me feel emotionally colder than the iced drinks in the fridge? To add insult to injury, I sat by the window trying to salvage some “coffee shop ambience,” but even that didn’t help. The music was too loud, the guy next to me was aggressively typing like he was trying to break his keyboard, and my cup looked like it had seen some things. I swear it stared back at me. Would I order it again? Only if I’m conducting a psychological experiment on myself. Maybe to see how far I can push my tolerance for disappointment. On the bright side, I didn’t finish it, which saved me 300 empty calories and probably a sugar crash. So yeah—five stars in the sense that it’s a warning beacon. Negative one star for actual taste. And if you’re ever tempted to order a mocha here, just grab a chocolate bar and chew some coffee beans. Same effect, less emotional damage.
Busser kicked us out because we had to-go cups. Said we can’t sit. We need to pour it into ceramics cups. And then repour it into to-go cups when we go. Due to environmental law. Some level of common sense needs to be applied here.
Awful customer service. We ordered drinks in take out cups as we don't like using cups other people have used. We was told we couldn't sit there with our children and was asked to leave! Even though we spend over 20 euros! Terrible customer service skills.
Indian worker aggressively argued with us for 10 minutes about the conditions of the menu. it was clearly written that All Desserts under 4,75 euros are included in the menu. She said we could only have a donut or cookie. the store should train the stuff manners and speaking, and also make sure they know how to read, or they learn the terms and conditions of the current offers in case they are illiterate
Very tasty coffee and nice attitude of working team. The seating is very organized and equipped with charging outlets. Very highly recommended.
Not recommend because of service. Paris airport CDG I was told if I want takeout , I can't sit in Starbucks sitting area, if I order to have coffee in sit-in area, coffee will be served in ceramic cup. I never heard anything such a stupid, unprofessional think ever !! Coffee was good, less acidic then USA coffee. I visited on December 17, 2024 about 11 am Paris time.
Nothing like the annoyed cold faces of the Paris starbucks to welcome you to france. Also since they hate their job they give you the wrong order. Thank you for the bad food
Rude workers, talking rudely about customers right in front of them. Unprofessional, sat on phones. As the man worker chose not to listen , talking over us he consequently got our order wrong , when corrected he made noises/gestures as if it was our problem. If you don’t want to work in a job where you have to deal with customers, probably a good idea to not work in a Starbucks. Drinks were awful and sloppy, nothing like how they’re meant to taste. Practically had the drink thrown at us, would give 0 stars if we could.
I was going to place an order, but three of my employees kept chatting and pretending they didn't see me. A female employee misinterpreted our order, causing confusion in our calculations. She didn't apologize for a single word, and made an unpleasant look and gesture as if it was my fault. She ended up throwing her change on the floor and whisking away. I felt terrible. Starbucks, please, do some staff training. It's the worst feeling ever before I return home.
staff missed my order for close to 10min. i told them nicely to check and this staff got annoyed?! second rude encounter with black staff from my second starbucks order, but obviously they don’t care bc they are parisienne lol
Terrible customer service. I fell asleep during a long layover after ordering coffee and dessert, and was aggressively woken and told to “go” without any explanation. When I said I only spoke English, the staff member kept shouting and grabbed my things even though I was already moving. Meanwhile, he let a French customer stay with a smile. Disrespectful, discriminatory, and unprofessional - especially for an international airport. Won’t return until staff are trained to treat all customers with basic kindness.
The staff (the black man) was rude. I understand cultural differences, but this went beyond that. It was simply disrespectful and unprofessional. I only wanted a drink to help with my hunger, yet the service was unnecessarily unpleasant, especially in such an international airport. NEVER again. I’ve also seen many other reviews mentioning the same issue. Starbucks should seriously retrain its employees.
Seriously. French servers should really learn basic customer service. What a shame to work in an airport with international customers and have shitty attitude. Foreigners just don't get this French attitude. No smile, no greetings. Unwelcoming tone and manner of speaking. Refuses to give few cubes of ice. I mean, who the heck trains these people??? He should really find another job. My 2 year old has better manners and courtesy than these people. Do better!
I would give this place zero stars if I could. I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience was terrible. The server forgot my cookie, and I had to ask for it. He also didn’t provide a fork or knife for my meal, so I had to request those as well. Additionally, there was a stain on my cup. Overall, the experience was very unpleasant, and I believe they should consider changing their employees. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Also he was quite nonchalant and was as nice as a prison door, like the French would say.
The staff are rude! I ordered macchiato and 2 pastries for my daughter to go because we are running late for our flight. My daughter sat on the chair bec she was so hungry while i waa waiting for the macchiato which took them 10 mins to make (it wasnt busy). Then one yelled at me saying "you are to go right?? YOU CANNOT SIT DOWN IF YOU ARE USING PAPER CUP!" I didnt undwrstand initially, but then I realized they wanted us to leave right away and stop my daughter from eating. I said "what??" and then the guy said "you cannot sit there!" i answered "I was waiting for my drink that's why we're here!" My daughter got scared and traumatized with the way they talked to us, packed her stuff and asked to leave. I CANT BELIEVE STARBUCKS LET PEOPLE LIKE THIS WORK INTHEIR COMPANY!
