Such a lovely place! The owner just lives and breathes passion for wine and is so friendly and upbeat. The decor is super cute and it feels homey and cozy inside. Great selection of wines and overall a wonderful experience. Definitely will be back!

Ive been to many wine bars but this is definitely one of the best if not the best. Paul's explanation and stories about the wine and of course his amazing selection of wines helped. Loved every glass!! Learned a lot today and highly recommend this to anyone looking to have a glass of wine. If youre ever in Singapore Paul let me know!!

We had a lovely evening with Paul, tasting and learning about some amazing wines. Paul is super knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a wine tasting with 5 different white ones and each one of them were so unique. This is the best wine bar in Amsterdam. You don't only get good wines but also get to know the stories behind them. It was a fun and enjoyable experience overall. We will definitely go there soon.

This wine bar has a lovely atmosphere. The owner is really friendly and has a story for every wine. The wine bar has definitely something for every taste. For a fun evening ask the owner for an aroma set and try to guess each smell. Truly fun activity!

Ask Paul to surprise and he will. Or just tell him what type of flavors you like and he will find a wine for you. Cozy little place, but bigger than it looks. Small but amazing wine selection. Food's not far behind. I loved the personal attention from the owner who'll make sure you have a great time.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Paulus on a recent 2 day stopover in Amsterdam. Its a wine bar so OF COURSE Paulus was knowledgeable and able to suggest a delicious orange wine for me. Yet what was even more of a treat was his genuine love and interest of those he was serving. I noticed it not just with me, but with every person he interacted with. As far as llcation, it's the perfect distance away from all the hustle and bustle of the touristy center. Right next to a bakery with the best baclava I've ever tasted, and across the street from a calm locals park, Wijnbar Paulus is the center of a wonderful adventure into the life of the local dutch life. I'm already looking forward to coming back and bringing some friends and family next time so they can experience Paulus as well.

Fantastic wine bar and the friendliest service from Paul. Loved their sourdough bread (served warm & fresh from the oven) and delicious tapas. Their wine was excellent - my friend and I ended up taking some bottles with us! Hope to be come back on the next visit to Amsterdam :)

We had an incredible evening even though storm Eunice was there! Paul had come all the way from Noord to serve his customers! Such dedication! We did the wine tasting and we enjoyed it thoroughly: 3 whites and 2 reds and with every one of them a great story about the country/specific region they came from. Paul doesn't bore you with very technical details: they are fun, light stories that makes you remember the wines. Our favorite was the one from Israel. Paul is really dedicated to make sure you get what you want so you can make up your own 'wine menu'. Besides that he served some lovely appetizers with the highlight being the Iberico ham! 😍 I have already recommended this tasting to family and friends! See you soon Paul!

We absolutely adore this place. You are guaranteed of a few things. One, the wines will be unique and delicious. Two, the food will be amazing, and in many cases hand selected from local artisans by the owner. Third, you will learn about the wine you are drinking. Paul, and his staff have amazing knowledge about wine in general, and will answer any questions you have about the wine they are currently offering. The space is lively, and cozy at the same time, with comfortable seating and a large window looking out on the street of Amsterdam. I highly recommend you make a reservation to ensure you get a seat.

Amazing host! He’s got a bubbly personality and lots of personal attention. Really appreciate his knowledge and passion for great wines :) Food was made with simple but high quality ingredients that paired really well with the wines we had. Definitely recommend this place!

His stories are fun, educational, and entertaining and he'll perfectly build a wine flight to your tastes. Trust in his recommendations and enjoy a journey through wines you'd never find on your own. Been here a couple of times and it’s a gem of a place in Amsterdam. It’s a small bar and Paul the owner is super nice and passionate about wine. He also maintains a book of wines not on the list and worth checking out if you like finer wines. Small food choice but nice and I love the atmosphere here. I go back every time I am in Amsterdam.
