Excellent 5 course lunch, with an interesting wine pairing. The dishes were very good, which is expected in a restaurant of this standing, but still! Good equilibrium between flavours, great balance, lots of surprises. Structure, taste, texture, and well managed ingredients: all was very well done. To say, the only comment I had was about the hardness of the ice cream. The wine pairing was good, well suited to the dishes and with interesting, not-so-conventional propositions. Especially commendable that Daalder proposes a 'designated driver' option: half the volume, for half the cost. Great to try and discover one glass per dish without suffering from after effects. The restaurant looks great, modern, with an appealing decor and ambiance. Unobstrusive, electronic music plays, which might not be what is expected by those who'd favour the customary feutré ambiance of your casual, off-the-mill michelin. I'll visit again, next time I'm around. In the meantime, you should do as well.

Honestly, I don’t know how this place got Michelin star ? 1. The service is not good: the lady “selling” us champagne started telling us how good their champagne is , because she drinks the left over of it every Sunday night. 2. Then they forgot our first 3 fishes (out of 8) 3. It took forever between dishes, and the dishes were miniature ! All In all we were in the restaurant for 5 hours! I was with an amazing g group of ppl, so no problem for me - but don’t bring your first date here 😂 4. The atmosphere was interesting - but again, not for a Michelin star . Some of the dishes were very tasty and original, some were nothing special , but that’s more of a personal taste . All in all - I would not recommend anyone to pay 175 eur for a start.

I did't really have good experience in this restaurant. The food was nice but the service was very slow. The waitresses are friendly. So, I started eating at 18:50 and be advised to get 6 courses as the restaurant needs to be closed at 20:00 but at the end I paid more for 6 courses. I didn't realise it but when I checked at home, I was just shocked. Sorry It's not worth of money.

Overall a quite disappointing experience. For a Michelin star restaurant, you would expect better. Let’s start with atmospheres. We were sat outside next to a dirty glass divider right next to the entrance in a dark cornered off part of the outside space. I could barely get into my seat because my chair was touching the chair of the person behind me. The Daalder Streetfood section actually felt a lot more inviting with seats right next to the canal. The bathroom was also a mess. Pee all over the seat and the floor. We were served sparkling water that was probably made with a soda stream and went flat within minutes. As we didn’t want to order a champagne by the glass to start (minimum price 25 euro) we sat there without drinks for almost 45 minutes. We ordered the wine pairing with the food and they didn’t offer any other drinks by the glass. Weird because they also serve the Daalder streetfood at the same location where they sell all kinds of drinks. 3 different waiters came by to offer us the expensive glasses of champagne which we did not want. It took them well over 30 minutes to take our order. We got the Daalder experience. One of the amuse bouche (bao) tasted quite stale and they tried to give it to us twice by accident. When we pointed it out they took it off our table again. This same thing actually happened with the dessert as well. The waiters were nice and explained the food and wine well but they didn’t put a lot of care into placing the cutlery. Sometimes it seems like it was just thrown down in a hurry. I know this is a minor detail but it all adds to the experience. The food was good. Nice presentation. Good flavor mostly but overall not very filling. Def went out the restaurant still hungry. The beetroot ravioli and Stroopwaffles were the best! The wine was well paired although I didn’t particularly like the taste of the dessert wine. Also our glasses were never filled with the same amount. A disappointing experience for one of us. I wouldn’t recommend this place and def won’t go back there. Sinne or Mos are better options if you’re looking for a 1 star fine dining experience.

We had the Daalder Experience menu, which is delicious and plenty of flavors (7 courses over 3 hours). However it is very disappointing that the Experience menu is priced at 185€, same as the one at Spectrum, which has 2 Michelin stars. Same for wine pairing which is overpriced at 99€ per head for a 1-star restaurant; we picked a 120€ bottle which lasted the whole dinner (also, we didn't get the vintage that was on the wine list...). So I would say that while food was great and creative, value for money is not what I expected. Very relaxed service for a 1-star, nice touch from the staff with a surprise dessert for our anniversary. Note that we had dinner outside as it was warm, didn't experience the colorful inside room.

Outstanding dishes all presented so beautifully. Service was excellent and the team was very attentive! Highly recommended this Michelin starred restaurant. It's one of the best 1 star restaurants I have tried. The wine list is great and the sommelier was excellent as well.

README: 1. Don't look at the menu, just go 2. Book the 10 course lunch/dinner 3. Allow yourself to be surprised and overwhelmed with an incredible food&wine experience 4. Don't drive home Thanks everyone @Daalder!

What a wonderful discovery this was! Great service, not too fancy, outdoor seating and the food! With each dish you go on an amazing flavour trip. The subtleties, the explosions, the refinement, the plating: all top notch! Here you get high cuisine for a reasonable price. 10s across the board!

Had an amazing experience here, especially since it is very difficult for me to find a fine dining experience with the dietary restrictions I suffer because of ibs. The chefs were amazingly accommodating, adjusting the beautiful dishes to be both lactose and gluten free! The menu was refreshing and exciting, with flavours that were complex and packed a punch, but also with some dishes that deserved their spot with modest and simple flavours. The mocktails were fun and made me feel special as my partner and brother had a wine arrangement. They love most of the pairings, though there was some critical feedback about the citrussy white wine pairing with the fatty "perfect egg" dish not being the most optimal choice, but that was soon forgotten with the more interesting duets that came later. The only thing I might have found difficult was the loudness of the music. It was hard to keep a conversation going, and especially difficult to understand the servers’ explanation of the food or wines. It, at times, felt like we were dining in a nightclub which was only amplified by the closed curtains cutting us off from the outside view and the colourful lights hanging above our heads. But then again, it was also an experience unlike any other we've ever had before which made it truly unique. I would not have wanted to miss out on this opportunity, it was a joy to visit, a truly unique experience to eat here as well. The staff was fun and enthusiastic about the food. I was even able to order another dessert, which they then surprised me with a dessert they hadn't introduced on the menu yet. I can see how they earned a star with the concept of this restaurant, the marriage of flavours, impeccable service and the artsy vibe really make it well deserved.

Visited this restaurant with 1 Michelin star when I was in Amsterdam by a recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint as the food was very creative but amazing at the same time. The ambiance was good with friendly staff as well. When we complimented the food to our waitress, the chef himself came out and talked to us which showed the passion he has for his food. This restaurant definitely deserves more Michelin stars and I believe they will come soon.

Everything about this restaurant is special including Food, ambience and service. One of the best experiences of my life. It’s Michelin star restaurant where they have mastered the art of service. They are not always around you to make you uncomfortable, but always there when you need them. Chef is doing everything perfectly. Pigeon and oysters were my favourite. Do try this if you want to treat yourself nicely.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I mean MICHELIN Star do we expect anything less ?! The food service ambience all is excellent !! The flavors are truly an ART & the experience worth it !! There are two options for classic menu and then chefs favorites. We were with 1 vegan and the chef literally MADE AN EXCLUSIVE vegan menu to match the two Choices. The drinks were great as well! The service is friendly and sweet - you cannot wrong !

Amazing culinary experience. Each bite and course was rich of flavors. The waitresses were very kind. I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere, because I was expecting to be seated inside in the amazing designed hall. However the weather was too hot , and we were seated outside in the terrace. It was nice, but not what we expected.

Amazing tasting menu dining experience. Great staff, great explanations of food and wine, and adjustments as needed. Definitely go for the 8-course, you won't be full, and at least five of the dishes were a 10/10 and nothing below 8 or 9/10. Wine pairings were nice, you can ask for fewer wines or bring half as much etc to match your desire to drink. Try the slow sip cocktail, amazing.

Managed to find this hidden place near canals, quite an authentic bar once we entered, small and cozy laidback feels. Is very different from our usual fine dining, however we are impressed by how good on the cocktails mixing especially the “Amaretto Sour”. The Langoustine serving in 3 ways with multiple layers of flavoured explosiving within our palates and the A5 wagyu are outstanding too. We can feel the passion and creativity on his cooking, thank you @rest_daalder team and Chef Dennis for wonderful experience and looking after us. From Singapore to Amsterdam love dining and exploring good food around. Thank you, Melissa & Jeffry

It was epic. Service was amazing, pairings were perfect, the 7 courses were exactly what we needed for this humid summer heat wave (light and fresh). I'm already planning to come back.

delicious food & cocktails, a nice ambiance & friendly service. I do recommend it but one star falls off for me because it was quite slow service (which didn't seem intentional) & while the food was delicious it was so many ingredients in each course that it was sometimes a bit much

Let’s start with the good: The food at Daalder is absolutely amazing. The Daalder experience menu was top notch. The beetroot ravioli was one of the best things we ever tasted. The lamb and lobster were also exquisite, as were the wines and cocktails. Excellent! However, the staff is where things go downhill. The level of service simply does not match the high level of the food: sometimes staff was nowhere to be found for longer amounts of time. They did not come around to ask for drink orders and all in all they did not make us feel ‘special’. At some point our waiter made a flirty remark about my girlfriend’s appearance which we both found very inappropriate. In the end our bill totaled over 500 euro’s, without a doubt the most expensive 1 Michelin star restaurant we ever visited. For this amount of money you’d expect a flawless experience, which Daalder simply did not offer. Summarized: excellent food, but the level of service does not justify the price.

A great place to start our trip in Amsterdam. Everything was perfect at this michelin star restaurant- from the friendly service to the amazing dishes in the tasting menu we had. The photos speak for themselves. The only thing to improve is about the wine. We ordered a bottle of wine but they almost never came to refill our glasses unless we asked for it.

My boyfriend (27) booked the Daalder Experience for him and I (22) as an anniversary gift and it was amazing! We both appreciate culinary and gastronomic arts and it is our first Michelin star restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and vibrant. The 9-courses menu was outstanding, maybe it is because the fact that 4 (from what I can remember, could be more) out of the 9 courses contains either fish/octopus/caviar and seafood is my favorite. Nonetheless, there was only one dish that was not too impressive for me, the rest was harmonious and paired perfectly. What was the most memorable aspect though, was the level of service personalization. I'm very bad with names but the server remembers both of our names the entire time and had very nice small conversations with him! As a young couple, we felt very welcomed and accommodated. The drinks they suggested were also great and paired nicely with the courses we had. We didn't have the wine arrangement because we are easily tired after two glasses of wines and don't want to spoil the moment, so they advised some special beers and cocktails which were amazing! Definitely recommended for those who are looking for a vibrant Michelin star experience that is not super typical fine dining atmosphere. Great for young people or young spirited people I'd say.

Five stars, for good flavours and execution. Vegetarian menu could be a little more exciting. Showed a lot of creativity, and potential - but IMO, the food is a little over-done — too many components that didn’t necessarily go well together and a lot of foams. A worthwhile stop, and quite reasonably priced for Amsterdam.

Had the 7-course meal and every single dish was out-of-this-world delicious! Portions were just right, ingredients were tasty, subtle, and fresh. Chef Dennis even served us and had a nice chat. Service was excellent. If I could give a 6-star, I would.

Daalder was fantastic. We had the 7-course tasting menu and it was delightful from start to finish (especially the slow-cooked egg). The service was prompt, and every interaction we had with the staff was great. Our waitress even took time from her day to appease us and take our photo outside. Can’t recommend Daalder enough.

Its worst service in my life: 1. Food is really nice, but even with this experience, they are able to spoil evening; 2. Most arrogant somelier in the Amsterdam: do not give wines to taste; act as realy bad beheavior person; 3. Serve gluten-containing foods even if you are aware of the allergy ahead of time; 4. Waiting time between dispatches can take 40 minutes. 5. Dirty place; 6. If you already have plans to visit this place, just look at how they bring chance back... I dont have any adea how thay got 1 star Michelin, but its far far away from it!

The place is out of the ordinary 2 * restaurant, ambiente is great and personnel very friendly. The meal was pricey but worth every cent. Flavours combined in ways we thought not possible, it was a real feast. The only minuses we had was that the wine was served way too early before courses, as such, the white wine was heated up when plates arrived. And the second desert (the soufflé) was way too sugary for our taste. Otherwise, the diner was perfect.

My birthday celebration at Daalder turned out to be a disappointing experience, and I feel it's crucial to share it to warn other diners. Throughout my life, I've visited Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, but this particular lunch in the city I live unfortunately stood out as my worst experience. We opted for the Denni's Favourites menu, with mine adjusted due to my shellfish allergy. Out of the various dishes, only three managed to capture my attention (Furthermore, the bao pao needed better cooking; it tasted like dough). Unfortunately, the execution at Daaldar did not meet our expectations. The customer service, handled by the waitress on Friday 26th, was the decisive factor that prompted me to share this review. From the beginning, she showed a lack of professionalism by completely ignoring me. Even when requesting our jackets, she only addressed my boyfriend, resulting in me having to hand over my jacket to her because she didn't even turn to acknowledge me. At a later moment, when I briefly stood up, the waitress took the opportunity to approach exclusively my boyfriend's chair, even leaning in, to engage in a conversation with him. When I returned to the table, she interrupted the conversation and walked away. I consulted my partner, who rarely complains, and he confirmed the oddness of the behavior, describing it as "very strange and uncomfortable," and he stated that the waitress seemed to be flirting with him. This level of service is unacceptable in any context, and especially so in a Michelin-starred restaurant. My intention in sharing this experience is to provide an honest and useful perspective for those considering visiting Daaldar. In Amsterdam, there are better options at a similar price point, where each dish is an experience, and the staff follows established protocols. Do not waste your money, your time and your energy in this restaurant and if you have already done so, send your complaint directly to the Michelin website.
