UH-MAY-ZING! Simply amazing! I’m always impressed with the food and ambiance at Greenwood’s. It’s always so busy, but it feels warm, cozy and inviting. The staff is incredible and friendly. Everything on the menu is amazing. My advice - make a reservation and ask for extra syrup if you get the pancakes!

A great place to have brunch. The food was delicious and the staff, despite being very busy, were very attentive, friendly and accommodating. There are also vegan and gluten-free options. When we got there it was very busy. Be prepared to put your name on a list and wait for 45 minutes or longer before being seated. Reservations are not accepted.

Amazing and best breakfast in Amsterdam! No need to go anywhere else - wow! Wonderful service and amazing Benedict's, the eggs Florentine was epic! Add a side of smoked salmon and boom! Best ever! One person in our party had the gluten free bread option which was also delicious! Amazing spot to sit inside or out!

Haven't been there for 5 years, but it's still one of the best places for brunch in Amsterdam. I guess we got a walk-in table only because there were some roadworks in front of it on that day. Usually, I would see a line of people standing outside. Also, on that they had some technical issues, so it was cash only. Lucky I had some cash on me, as you rarely ever need it in Amsterdam anymore. The french toast and the pancakes were just perfect, and the service is as friendly as always.

It was a hell of a wait to get a table - almost an hour in the cold wind but my quesadilla was immense. Food is served up beautifully and the flavours were a mix of Mexican and Middle Eastern. Service was chipper and fast. I wouldn’t wait that long again but if I were passing and there was a table I’d dive back in in a heart beat!

Amazing brunch options, more than enough variations with something suitable for different tastes. It is on the expensive side, but definitely worth your money. Plus the staff is really nice, the chef is very skilled. Fast service even though it is full all the time in the mornings and afternoon.

Breakfast cusine, indoor and outdoor seating. There was a wait to get into Greenwoods but was totally worth it. Don’t be surprised! There is a waiting list for those outside. The wait can be away from 30-1hr. It is 100% worth the wait. There are 10-12 seating tables Indoors. The spot is quite small so tings will be a bit tight inside. The food is well seasoned and well made for all eaters (conventional/ plant based). The portions are really big so the pricing for the food is spot on. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the neighbourhood. Great good and friendly staff but again there will most likely be a wait. We give this experience a 5 out of 5.

A gem of a place! We had such a great time and the food was absolutely delicious and of a great value for the money. I definitely recommend trying out their veggie English breakfast and the smoothie they offer, I know I had a blast with it! My friend had the usual English breakfast but I truly believe my choice was way better 😇Apart from looking fabulous, everything was fresh and mouthwatering, taking me back to my time in London. It took us almost an hour on the weekend to get a table so is always better to make an appointment beforehand.

Lovely quaint hipsterish cafe vibes, lovely authentic feel to it. Breakfast was delicious - only slight point was with the choice of two eggs, both have to be same type - scrambled, fried or poached. Had to reduce by one star, food was a tad bit cold...not exactly freezing but could have been improved.

Worth the wait! Be prepared to queue on weekends to get a table at this brunch restaurant. Nevertheless once you get a table service is fast and the food does not disappoint. Each bite is packed full of flavour and features pleasant texture combinations.

We came to have a cold dinner after a recommendation we read. We asked to sit outside since it was very crowded inside. Our table became vacant but they decided not to seat us and we waited another ten minutes standing unnecessarily. The food was very tasty and fresh and the service was fast.

We visited for breakfast based on a recommendation. The place is Very popular hence a bit of a wait for the table. It's quite a small place but service is quick and staff are friendly. Of course the food is great 👍 decent size portions and slightly more expensive than some of the other breakfast places. Would still highly recommend visiting

Very good, filling food and drinks. Portions were big for the price and served on time. Pancakes were very good alongside the selection of drinks served in unique dishes. The place is very busy and so we made sure to reserve a table in advance. The waiting staff are friendly too. Nice spot to try out.

Great place for brunch! The food was fantastic and the servers are extremely friendly. My husband's burger was amazing and my shakshuka had such great flavor. Loved the peach iced tea too! Highly recommend :)

Amazing place. Amazing food. Came as a recommendation from the Marriott concierge. This place makes everything in house. I loved it so much that I went back another time. Ordered thr Veg Breakfast and the pancake breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The home made soda bread was amazing. Great fried cheese! Love love love the outdoor seating. It was well worth the wait.

Food and service were both good. However, be prepared to WAIT! It's took over an hour to be seated in this tiny shop. We seated by the door, which kept opening at the hostess/server kept going outside. The food and service were very good but not sure it was worth the wait in the cold and then eating in the cold.

Small and cute restaurant. Service was quick and the food was good. Highly recommend the Scone, was huge! Lots of tables in a small space so hard to move around the restaurant and felt quite cramped.

Really great breakfast spot. Good size portions. The pancake and eggs looked the largest. But I ordered the Amsterdam eggs Benedict and the French toast. All very good

Greenwoods is a great spot for brunch in the city. You're tucked in together with cosy tables in a vibrant atmosphere. It has one of the better Full English Breakfasts I've had in Amsterdam - healthy sized portion as well. It's a popular spot so you may have a small wait to get in, though it's worth the wait.

  • 5/5 Levi W. 2 years ago on Google
Quiet charming place to eat. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was more than excellent. They provided warm blankets for us - nice touch. I would highly recommend finding this spot!

Amazing breakfast! There are so many options that look great, it was hard to choose. I had the English breakfast with bacon and sausages but there were also great options for vegetarians. The tea was fantastic! Definitely coming back.

Fantastic Breakfast/Brunch. Super tasty and fabulous Service. Lovely location along a canal. Cant recommend this more. A definite must visit when in Amsterdam.

The food was average especially considering the price. But what really made my stay bad is the waitress. She wasn’t really happy to serve costumers. Once I finished with my food she not even interested of asking if I want a coffee or else just said “hope you want to pay now”. Quite rude. In the meantime the neighbor table servers were cheerful nice and smiling. Maybe she just had a bad day but not helped my start with her behavior either.

I had a really good brunch there with my friends. Food was good, but the only thing is, they took wrong order few times. And as one of my friend is pregnant I ask several times to have the eggs well done, but still they served runny eggs to her 🥲 we had to send back again to have it baked properly.

  • 5/5 Evie G. 5 months ago on Google
The best cappuccino I had! The scones are freshly baked, melting in your mouth, and the stuff is very friendly, a wonderful place to start your day!!! Highly recommended 👌

I recommend to visit this place for breakfast! Delicious salmon toast and English breakfast. Nice staff, friendly atmosphere. The only negative thing is the size of the cafe, a very small space. You can barely squeeze between two tables.

It’s my fav spot to eat when am in Amsterdam.. lovely place & food .. super fresh food .. the workers super friendly!! Especially Roberta ♥️

Delicious food and such a friendly stuff. We had such a lovely table direct on the water. Perfect place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful city.

  • 5/5 Ken H. 5 months ago on Google
Definitely worth the hype. The place is very small and so the seating is very limited. If you are a group of 4 or more, the wait is gonna be very long. The atmosphere was nice but a bit too warm to my liking For the food, we ordered full english breakfast and new amsterdam breakfast. The eggs were nice, the bacon was crispy but abit too salty, and the hollandaise sauce was very good, i think one of the best ive ever eaten.

Loved visiting this place for brunch. Food is very tasty and the staff were lovely. Queues are long so be warned. We had an issue with our order and it was dealt with very professionally. Only qualms is I think it struggled with how busy the restaurant was; cramped and long service times. But can’t fault anything else.

Great place to have a brunch. It was crowded but the staff are fast and very efficient! 👍🏼 They’ve outdoor seating area with umbrellas in case of rain and they also provide blankets if you’re cold. The food is very good although I wish they’d more basic choices.

  • 4/5 Hossam N. 7 months ago on Google
I loved the service, vibes and views. The food was really good, however I don't recommend the English breakfast as the hash browns are very hardly fried. The French toast was yummmmmy.

  • 5/5 Robyn F. 2 years ago on Google
Great service, although a wait was required for a table but it was totally worth it! Tables inside and outside. Great selection for both meat eaters and veggies 😋

  • 4/5 Al L. 11 months ago on Google
This is great place for brunch and the food was delicious. Just wish there will be more space and more staff. When it’s busy it’s hard to get service but it’s worth the wait.

  • 5/5 Zachary N. 2 years ago on Google
Really friendly staff, worth the wait if there is one. The Eggs Royale was good but maybe slightly lacking in salt (which you can fix yourself with the salt on the table.) Would highly recommend this as a place to go.

Amazing food. One of the best meals we had in Amsterdam and probably best brunch I've had. This is the kind of breakfast I wish for in NZ. There were excellent vegetarian options. We had to wait about 20 min for a table inside but that just shows how popular and delicious this place is.

  • 5/5 Akin U. 10 months ago on Google
This is the best breakfast cafe in town. Whenever we come to Amsterdam, always prefer to eat in here. We recommend it to everyone. many kinds and delicious plates. but don't forget to make a reservation or you will wait in line for a long time.

Greenwoods is one of those symbolic places in Amsterdam. In all honesty it used to be better. Now portions are small and totally overpriced, you feel more like another tourist trap. Staff is super nice and helpfull still.

This little spot seems very popular. We found it in Google maps and decided that we wanted to eat here for lunch when we arrived to Amsterdam from Belgium for a day trip. There was a 20/25 minute wait on a Tuesday afternoon as it was very busy and the restaurant is small. The food was great…especially the homemade soda bread which they gave a very generous proportion of. (Drinks were pricey….4€ for a small apple juice but food prices were reasonable Would recommend.

We tried going 2 days in a row for brunch but it was always super busy with a long line waiting. The 3rd day we got up early and was there shortly after they opened, got a table right away but after we arrived the restaurant quickly filled up. All the buzz and people waiting def shows how good this place is. The food was amazing! So delicious! The staff were also very friendly! I highly recommend checking this place out it is well worth the wait!

  • 5/5 Louise S. 2 years ago on Google
Outstanding! Everything about this place was excellent, from the atmosphere to the attentive wait staff and most definitely the food! Enormous English breakfast! Great selection of dishes, including vegetarian. Beautiful presentation (see photo). Fairly small quarters inside, but there's also outdoor seating. Bought one of their lovely funky cappuccino mugs. Will definitely make a point to visit next time we're in this lovely city! Very fun!

I went here out of recommendation, and I'm sure the food is great but the vegan dish was such a disaster. The scrambled tofu had no taste, a little disappointed. But to make up for it, the salted caramel hot chocolate with oat milk was delicious! The restaurant is placed in a lovely area of Amsterdam, would recommend it for a good coffee!

This is THE BEST brunch place in Amsterdam, there is no doubt in that! It is TOTALLY worth the waiting time. I avoided to go here for a long time as I really thought it is more for tourists... I lived in the wrong for so long 🥲🥲 They serve the best banana bread I ever tasted and their homemade juice is to die for. The staff is so lovely as well ❣️

  • 5/5 Aleena J. 1 year ago on Google
Great food with an amazing presentation! I really enjoyed my meal and it was very filling. The service is also great! The staff was so nice and food came quickly. There’s an option to also sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the canal! They even have cute blankets if you do sit outside:)))

  • 5/5 Chloe 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely delicious, lovely staff and great value for money. We sat outside as we were a party of 3 and both blankets and heaters were provided to keep us cosy. Highly recommended!!! We all thoroughly enjoyed. Here's a pic to get your taste buds going...

The best feature: no smoking signs (at least outside seating)!! I loved it!! You can enjoy the fresh air, especially in the morning. Visited here for breakfast in May 2022. The food was absolutely amazing. Order two types of eggs Benedict. The weather was kind of cold, but enjoyed a warm drink. Also, this place is first come first serve. I don’t really like this, as this is a good place, you may need to wait a long time to get seated. So, a reservation system or at list pen&paper list can help a lot.

  • 5/5 Jade G. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent spot for brunch. The line typically moves quickly but the space is small so there’s always a wait. Friendly waitresses and quick service especially for Amsterdam. The chicken sandwich is particularly good.

  • 5/5 Kenneth L. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely amazing brunch! Friendly service, affordable prices and right next to the canal. Be wary however that there are currently really loud building works next door (a lot of drilling) but hopefully will be done in a few months. The outdoors is also a non-smoking seating area.

I came here in 2016 and wanted to come back again. I had the poached eggs on hashbrown and it was good. My vegan friend had the vegan burger and didn't like it. However, this place is definitely worth a visit for brunch !
