DO NOT STAY HERE!!! If I can give zero star I would. Checked in got to the room immediately noticed a horrible stench in the room and hallway. I could deal with the bad smell but the room was so small that we couldn’t open our luggage. Went down to see if I can cancel my reservation but the manager said no with a very bad attitude. She said what do you expect from a 3 star hotel. She gave us a different room which still stunk and we had to walk through a very steep disgusting stairway to get to our room. Got in bed to get some rest and we noticed our blankets and sheets had stains with a bunch of hair everywhere. We complained so they said they’ll send new sheet and blankets but after 5 hours they sent nothing so we had to call them again. Shower also sucked, the shower doors have slits so when you shower the bathroom floors get soaked. All the employees had bad attitude. This place needs to be demolished.

The location was great. There was a water leak issue in my room, but the staff was attentive and helpful. Breakfast isn't free but a large buffet selection. The bikes available for hire are the best bikes in the city! Luggage storage was also super easy.

This hotel has not deserved a three star rating. The rooms are tiny, run down and desperately in need of renovation. Holes in the walls, dirt in the corners, bathroom, carpet, tiny flies everywhere... Worst of all: it's dirty! Having seen the pictures (obviously taken many years ago) and paying about 500,-€ for a weekend, we expected at least "normal" sized rooms and beds - and of course clean rooms! Though getting no refund, we skipped the second night and returned home early - no way we would have stayed another night.

Quite a decent hotel. In EU , the rooms are usually small and I kinda knew what to expect. The elevator wasn’t working and that was a bummer... that’s the reason I did not give 5 stars. The staff is very professional. Needed help to charge my portable charger since I had forgotten mine back home. They kindly offered to help. I forgot my Apple Watch in my room. When I contacted front staff to check with housekeeping, they promptly responded that they found it and that I can collect it. Sweet!

Firstly, where is the 0 star button?? this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When I arrived it looked nice. The woman who served me when I checked in was not welcoming at all. The hallways stink of sewage, and our bathroom did too. The room was filthy, dusty and not cleaned. I stayed for 3 nights, 4 days and not one day did the cleaners change/clean my bedding, empty my bins or clean any rubbish that was left about. They barley made the bed they just tucked our dirty sheets in and left the ‘pillows’ on the floor. The pillows where horrible to sleep on the beds need proper mattresses. Awful! I would never stay here again.

We were really happy with our 3 night stay. The hotel was great value for the location and quality. We were there during some hot summer days so we were thankful for the AC (although it was pretty weak). The room had a safe and a hair dryer (plus all the normal things). We loved this location and found it so easy and quick to get around all of the city. We had no issues with noise nor smells. Our bathroom did smell a bit of smoke, but there was nothing that impacted our stay. I would recommend this as a great budget hotel!

Hotel is in a fantastic location close to museums but also a short walk from entertainment areas, restaurants and bars. Multilingual staff very friendly and helpful. Our hotel room was a bit noisy from adjacent room and the one above. Renovations done to the room was not finished properly like plaster/drywall and carpet area. Finally, a good buffet breakfast was served with high quality items; missing however was a fruit salad which seems to be the norm in all the other hotels we stayed.

A really good hotel with an excellent location just outside of the city centre of canals and the walk in is not too bad. Even at your doorstep you have bars, restaurants, even a casino! The staff and the service is pretty good. They are attentive and someone is always able to help. They were able to help with booking a taxi early in the morning with a flat fee to the airport of 39 euros. There is a nice bar/seating area which is spacious but when it is busy when breakfast or dinner it can be packed. There are computers in the lobby if needed but not sure if you have to pay to use. Breakfast was okay, could use more of a variety. The rooms however was small. The place for two people was just not enough. The bathroom was also very tiny. The tap when over the sink so it made it hard to use. A weird design choice. The shower door was not fully sealed so water so actually pour past the door. Overall it is a good hotel, good location, good service but it is just the room that let it down. But while you are on holiday it is nice enough to chill, nothing more.

I was first given a room that wasn’t ready, a messy bed and really dirty walls. So I went downstairs and requested a different room. I was moved to a different room on the same floor and a few hours later I noticed a terrible smell coming out of the shower drain. Frustrated and tired from all my traveling, I went downstairs again and asked for another room. This time I got a decent room which I used for the duration of my stay. I wish I considered the reviews for this hotel more before I made a reservation. Yes, the location is great. However, pretty much everything else about this hotel is bad news. I do have to mention that the hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating of my requests. Which is the only reason I’m giving this review one extra star. The hotel management REALLY needs to consider adding a few upgrades to this hotel. They could start by at least cleaning the walls in the rooms.

Smallest room I have ever stayed in. Beds were singles mattresses on top to big and dangerous and you slipped off. Cot only just got in room under window between seat and wardrobe so couldn't uses them. Horrid draft coming through window so had to move around so my boy wasn't freezing cold. Hallway on our floor smelt rotten. Cleaners did a very poor job in room. When we were in the bar were rude to my wife. We ordered some food with a drink and when they didn't have what my wife ordered told her they were a bar. We were the only people drinking there drinks all others were drinking stuff they had brought in themselves. Breakfast was over priced for what u received. Check in staff were good.

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This web site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it. We had a three day stay . Very close to the Rijksmuseum which was very cool. The room was super clean. After a very warm welcome in the hotel we where to visit the canal boat and Vondelpark. Breakfest was enormous and served on to the table and unforgettable

Front desk staff was pleasant. Rooms were OK but the beds was so bad that there wew holes in the mattress. Could even feel the spring on our back while sleeping. No compensation was given for the two sleepless night. Overall would say bad service. Wrote to the manager Jennifer but according to her her staff did their best but we slept on mattress with holes for two night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I have photos of the mattress.

Great short trip! The hotel is very stylish and cozy. Rooms are not very big, but enough to sleep and relax; plus they are equipped with everything you need. Comfy beds, free tea or coffee in thr room, nice small bathroom, canal view. Everything is spotless and the staff always friendly and helpful. Location is the best part, just between Rivjk Museum, Vondel Park and Casino; around the corner from Leidsplein and Van Gogh Museum; central station is a 30 minutes walk. We rented bikes in the hotel and it was not much more expensive than surrounding bike shop offers, but much more convenient with the parking and comfortable, of course. Check in and check out was very easy and staff were always attentive.

This was my first time in Europe. Even though they were under renovation, they made sure that my stay was comfortable and Enjoyable. They are very friendly and I highly recommend this hotel especially once the renovation is complete. The room I stayed in was brand new with LED lights above the bed, brand new TVs. Made it feel very luxurious.

Good Hotel in the museum area, very near the Rijks Museum( just 60 meters away), Van Gogh Museum and The Holland Casino. Also very near many restuarants. A good place to stay, the only reason this hotel doesn't get the highest rank is beacuse thier breakfast doesnt have variaty, I was here for one week and they had the same breakfast every day. Also thier room cleaning could be better. The reception staff are very kind and service minded. There is a big construcction going on besides the hotel, and they started everyday the week I was there at 7 am, so if you are looking for a longer sleep in the morning. Maybe you should choose another Hotel. And last but not least This Hotel is NOT named Apollo anymore! The Name of this hotel changed name last year to Leonardo Boutique museum Hotel very important to have in mind.

Great location, terrible experience overall. Room was cramped, with dirty and damaged walls, run down furniture and carpeting, the bed was a joke, with a mattress so bad and cheap it slipped from the bed during the night. No coat hangers (!) available. Asked for some more liquid soap in the bathroom, didn't get any for two days. Guys, you can definitely do better. The location is great, though.
