At first I chose this hotel based off of the location, location, location; but the service and style of the rooms took the experience over the top. Very clean in every aspect and incredibly quiet considering its literally over the main train station in the centre of the city. You're no farther than 5min away from bike rentals, the light rail, or trolley to make your way around the city. A small but respectable breakfast can be had in the morning. Would highly recommend to anyone spending time or even passing through.

Lifts are being refurbished. Some major renovations going on. Rooms are simple and truly bare. Only plus is proximity to Central Station Rooms have no amenities at all, carpet looks toxic. Be sure to wear footwear. Clean towels and hot shower. Bed sags so on a double, sleep towards the edge but you might slide towards the central depression🥴 Pillows smell sour😶...it isn't me I swear! Exposed mattress!🥴 Soap and shampoo from their shower dispensers appear similar☺️ Don't sprain your back using the open wardrobe which requires a twist of your back. How the safe is positioned may ensure that you will forget to empty your valuables🥴 The hotel entrance is hidden behind a mound of bicycles. Prepare to be choked by smokers who hang out exactly at it's entrance.

The rooms are small. Like really small, but they are clean and have a nice big bed. Service was good too. Things to keep in mind: Currently the area in front of the hotel is under construction. This can make getting in a bit awkward, but nothing serious. TV is not great. Most of the channels are Dutch. You can leave your bags on the day you check out while you do your last sightseeing. Breakfast is good, and probably worth it.

DO NOT stay at Ibis Amsterdam Centre! Stay at your own risk! Someone tried to break into our room while we were asleep. We were staying at Ibis Amsterdam Centre, checking in on 17 November 2022 and checking out on 19 November 2022. On our last night (18 Nov 22), at around 11.30pm, we heard sounds of people trying to open our door. It happened again 10 minutes later. We called the reception using our own mobile phone as there was no phone in the room. There wasn’t any peephole on the door too, hence we had no idea at all as to what was happening. During the phone call, the receptionist assured us that the duty manager will check on us and people will patrol on our level. However half an hour later, we called the reception twice to follow up. But, they did not pick up the call and the incident was left hanging. The next day, when we check out at around 9am, we saw a suspicious guy with his luggage, tapping a card on every door and trying his luck to open each door. Till now, a few days later, there is still no response and follow up from the hotel. I DO NOT recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, as it is very unsafe and we weren’t provided any help from the hotel. Also, the lift does need the room card in order to access the levels, hence I do not understand why we spot people trying to break into the rooms and nothing was done by the hotel. Absolutely disappointing!

I booked a room with a view and wow it was worth it! Great view! This hotel’s location is also perfect if you want to be at the center of where many public transit lines meet. Perfect for day trips too since the train station is right there. Clean room, decent breakfast, and friendly staff. I’d stay here again!

Very professional and friendly receptionists, clean beautiful reception area. Conveniently located and very easy to find. Rooms are a little small and very hot, nice bathroom, pillows are too thick but other than that comfortable soft bedding. Overall great stay would visit again.

Rooms were clean but very hot. We stayed in September and it was quite cool outside. Rooms, despite not having the heating on yet, were sweltering, even with the AC on. Central location. Spartan rooms. However, rooms were not efficient. We couldn't even open the door fully to enter our room, making it hard to actually put our luggage in. And, there was an outlet in the middle of the wall - not near the desk or the bed, just literally in the middle of the wall. Small rooms are OK, but there has to be some thought into the actual allocation of outlets and furniture. Recommend walking a bit further but better value - at least to one of the other Ibis!

Very conveniently located right next to Amsterdam Central Station. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was lovely, clean tidy. As was the room. All be it a little lacking. No phone. No welcome pack. No tea or coffee making facilities. Not even any artwork on the walls. Which made it echo in the room. Not a huge amount of space to put our clothes or suitcase. Apart from that, the bathroom was nice and clean, and the shower was nice. Located a short walk to all the main tourist attractions, red light district, canal boat tours etc. For us, check out at 12pm meant we didn't have to rush in the morning. And a short walk back to the station. Would definitely stay again.

My room was reassigned to another guest who then attempted to enter my room past 12 am in the morning! The front desk was unable to resolve the issue without having me physically go down to reception in the middle of the night. All the information they would have needed to resolve the matter should have been in the system and the issue could have been resolved at check out. To make mattes worse, after going to re-check in and pay my bill, my room key had been cancelled, so I could not enter the room and had to return to reception to get a new key. Service recovery was to offer me a free drink and some sweets! Useless suggestions in the middle of the night past 12 am! For an international chain charging over 200 EUR a night, this is highly unacceptable. It's also very unsafe for a room door that is locked from inside to be accessible by another room key from the outside. Perhaps adding additional security latches to the room doors should be considered. I'm sure guest safety should be a basic requirement in all your hotels. Overall, I am not impressed with how the matter came to happen in the first place and the subsequent resolution wasn't satisfactory either. I would like a full reply to my complaint and some compenstation for the inconvenience.

The downstairs lobby area with a coffee bar and work space is ideal for meetings, relaxing and does away with the often stuffy formal energy in most hotels. The decor is young and contemporary with key amenities at your disposal. The rooms are small especially the bathroom and lacks space for suitcases unfortunately. A small change of removing an irrelevant wooden divider by the hanging space would sort this out plus some hooks on the wall. Aside that, location superb, incredibly helpful staff and a good energy get my total thumbs up!

Location was perfect and very easy to get to from/to airport from central station. Very close to old town. Rooms were cleaned daily and staff were friendly. Bar was good. Had a lovely view of the A’dam Tower and river. Worth the extra money!

Good hotel in a central location with a great view. However, the rooms are what you would expect from standard hotel rooms, nothing special. I always appreciate having an electric kettle for making coffee or tea in the room.

I stayed at the hotel with a group during the summer of 2015 and again in 2023. The room is good. The service is pleasant. The location is excellent, as it is close to Amsterdam central station. You can do many things on foot. There are markets, shops, cafes and especially canal tours nearby, in front of the station. I really recommend this hotel and we will have a group at this hotel again next summer 2024.

Great hotel in the perfect spot for every direction of Amsterdam! Our room view was smashing of the Adam Tower across the river, watching the boats go by. Beds were super comfortable, access to YouTube on TV whilst we were getting ready. Hotel itself was modern and atmospheric with lots of buzz going on, and the price was great, especially for Christmas time. Would stay here again, access to the trams, trains, station, you name it.

Room was clean and a good size. Had a double bed and set of bunks. The room had a station view which meant we looked out the window directly in to any train on that line, but no issue with noise and when the trains were not directly outside the view was good. Staff friendly and efficient. Bar was nice. Price was high but understandable due to location.

  • 2/5 Louise M. 1 year ago on Google
Room was nice and clean. Looked directly out onto the trains but well insulated so noise was minimal. The restaurant was out of action which was annoying as we had a young child with us so would have preferred the option of eating there in the evening, but this was not made clear at the time of booking. The male receptionist when we arrived at the hotel was incredibly rude and sarcastic. All in all - expensive room for not great service

A great hotel very close to the Central Train station. In fact one of the towers straddles the rail lines. Staff were friendly and courteous in English. Rooms are basic but comfortable in good shape and clean. A larger TV than I'm used to seeing in European hotels, which is nice. Easily took my Fire Stick so I could watch Netflix and Prime with ease. Even a beer machine in the hallway for convenience.

Perfect location for those traveling by train, as it's literally half a block from the central train station. Highly-walkable central location & the staff are friendly and helpful. Small rooms are the norm for this type of property, as is the lack of in-room coffee... but my room was also cold (for which a barely functioning space heater was then provided) and a cup of coffee at the restaurant/bar cost 7 euro! So, great location with friendly service, but less than ideal otherwise.

Was concerned that this was going to be more hostel than hotel. However, that was certainly not the case. The whole experience was excellent, from check-in to check-out. Spotless, warm, cosy, and friendly. Great location. Would definitely stay again.

  • 5/5 Tacara B. 11 months ago on Google
Perfect location, clean rooms, courteous staff. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar during our stay. My only complaint would be no mini fridge in the rooms & no air conditioning. We were able to open the windows, which helped.

  • 3/5 Jerry R. 5 months ago on Google
Hotel is in great convenient location. Next to Centraal Station is very ideal for trains, buses, trams and ferries. Construction around hotel and station not so. Very nice lobby with bar and breakfast area. Room even in cooler weather mid 50f/12 13c was stuffy. Kept windows closed due to bugs flying around. Should install fans in room. Many complaints seen on size but found room quite adequate for short stay. Far as complaints on train noise, found on 8th floor above tracks, could barely notice them with windows closed. I had only 2 small complaints. 1 is bathroom in room. Obviously ventilation and mold issues. Shower door did not close fully and no exhaust fans. 2 is when going down to breakfast close to end, felt rushed and unwelcome as they use area for employee functions. Overall would say for quality was a little pricey but not bad. Good location for a short 3-4 days, but not middle of summer.

We are staying in a premium room which has great views overlooking the river. The rooms are reasonably well equipped with the basics and decor is modern. The location is perfectly central and very close to grand central station.

  • 5/5 Martina M. 11 months ago on Google
Great positioning! Near to the train and metro station but also very close to the city center. Our room was little, but clean and comfortable. Fast check-in and check-out. A great plus is breakfast until noon!! No need to wake up early in the morning!

Overall this was a great hotel. Very well located and easy walk to many restaurants and other places. Central station for bus, train, tram is also next door. Americans love air-conditioning so that would be the only issue is that we didn't have this in the room. Outside wasn't too hot this time of year so we left the window open.

  • 5/5 Ann Marie K. 11 months ago on Google
Location was perfect. Close to train station. Just where we needed to be. Rooms are small but we only used it for sleeping. Breakfast was good. Variety of meats, cheeses, rolls, yogurt and hot items.

  • 5/5 Cheryl P. 5 months ago on Google
Perfect location. Room although a bit small was fine for the 2 of us. It was clean and considering the location of this hotel very quiet. Towels were changed daily and bathroom was also cleaned daily. Staff were friendly and informative when asked where things were. All in all great hotel.

  • 4/5 Daniel M. 5 months ago on Google
Was expensive but worth the cost due to location. Staff were helpful with sorting out an accessible room. Overall good quality of said room. Cleaners were excellent and your janitor helped fix an issue with my wheelchair. Only issues were that the breakfast was a little disappointing as it wasn't as good as my previous stay. The selection was not as varied but was sufficient. Secondly, the thermometer in our room wasn't functioning correctly. We attempted to lower the temperature but it always returned to the standard heat. Luckily we could open the window during the day. Overall, a great stay, and I'm very thankful for the assistance I received. Will be back.

Loved to be close to station and main walking streets in Amsterdam. Easy from Cruise ship stop and convenient to everything. Liked the opportunity for on site breakfast and after a long day drinks and snack in restaurant area. Helpful staff and clean facilities. Clean rooms and although small were sufficient for our stay.

  • 4/5 Harry N. 5 months ago on Google
Staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is ideal. The rooms are a bit small, fine if you’re on your own but a bit tricky if there’s more than one in a room. The breakfast is very expensive, so it’s probably worth getting breakfast elsewhere.

  • 2/5 Luis Miguel LMOG (. 5 months ago on Google
Although we choose a wider room, at a little higher price, it was a tiny one, without any commodities; only paper cups in the little bathroom. No cupboard in the room ( no space for), only a “thing” with three little shelves. Good location and polite and very kind staff. This is the first time I had to pay in advance in a hotel.

  • 2/5 Anurag M. 2 years ago on Google
Rooms were with no basic amenities. Room and toilet are very small. Not happy for value for the money I paid. I have stayed multiple times in better place in Amsterdam center.

  • 3/5 laughing4u2day 2 years ago on Google
Not quite what I was expecting for the price. The room was super tiny. I traveled with a friend and when we walked into the room, it was one bed. I asked for a room with 2 beds. To my surprise the new room had two beds, but placed together. The room was too small to separate them.

  • 5/5 Alex P. 2 years ago on Google
It's an Ibis experience- spartan and tiny rooms, but friendly staff and nice public amenities. You absolutely cannot beat the location. Admittedly, I was staying on the side of the building away from the trains, but I didn't hear a thing.

  • 3/5 Ariffin A. 2 years ago on Google
Just a ok hotel with basic amenities. It’s literally beside the central train station which is really great.

really pleased with the stay there! staff is very friendly and welcoming. rooms are bit small but this didn’t not bother me. the hotel was overall very clean and cozy. the food isn’t very good and is with very little choice. as a vegan it was hard to find something to eat (at breakfast)

  • 2/5 Anthony D. 2 years ago on Google
The service was not the best. The food isn't good; the rooms don't have coffee makers. You could say that the location is excellent. I won't advise booking here if you want a good family experience, if you are just sleeping, then it may be "good enough." Don't expect much.

  • 4/5 T 2 years ago on Google
The location is perfect, near the centraal station this is why people come here. Good for 1 night at Amsterdam. View is not great with the parking of many many many bikes in front of the hotel. Room was clean, we sleep well. Bathroom is very small but it is ok for few nights at Amsterdam.

  • 3/5 Justin A. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel is great for what it is - located close to the train station. The rooms are fine, bathroom was clean. You get two sandpaper-esque towels and a pillow that hasn’t been comfortable since the late 80’s. But it isn’t expensive and it is conveniently located. Would stay here again if I had to.

  • 5/5 Joan C. 2 years ago on Google
Great spot, right beside main train station. Also teams outside Rooms are small but fine for a couple of days. Only dealt with reception staff, they were very helpful

  • 3/5 Vika N. 2 years ago on Google
+Very good location, easy access from airport/train station, comfy bed, warm room, hot shower. - Mostly friendly staff except Ms. India at the reception who lied about not having availability for the early checkin and the check in time being at 3 p.m. I could still check in at 13:30 with her friendly colleague Inem. The shower was not draining well.

  • 3/5 Alan R. 1 year ago on Google
Good budget hotel as you would expect from the brand. Helpful front of house staff. Clean bright rooms. However the air conditioning in our room did not work and the nights were very hot in the room and this was late October. Also added breakfast when we arrived but it is basic and very pricey for what it is.

  • 4/5 Natalie C. 1 year ago on Google
Great location next to the train station if you need to get to the airport early, but still want to have access to the city. Rooms are small, but clean and had a good view of the station and water. Windows are sufficiently insulated that noise from trains coming and going were not disruptive for sleep.

  • 4/5 Munro S. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent hotel option, fantastic location close to Centraal and all of Amsterdam. Lobby is funky industrial chic, rooms are tiny but well-designed and stylish with everything you'd need. It was surprisingly quiet for such a busy area, though noise from other rooms easily comes through. Super helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the hotel and service by the IBIS team. Special Kudos to Veronica, best customer services provided by her. Helped every day with our Taxi and she made sure that we are good and comfortable and if needed anything we know where to go!!!! Overall experience was wonderful. Thanks again Veronica. Will definitely visit IBIS again.

Even for a budget hotel this quality is beyond poor. The room was dirty. Stained mattress under a mattress topper and extremely cramped. Could not change the temperature in the room so we either had to open the window and freeze and be kept awake by the insanely loud trains and announcements all night, or boil. The breakfast was almost non existent, the bread was stale and old even at 8 AM. There was 3 hot options and each of them were incredibly poor in quality. Beans that were horrible, both overcooked and undercooked sausages, eggs ... disgusting and rubbery. The juices that were left out were warm. And to pay for breakfast extra is horrible. Some of the staff seemed friendly. Others were curt and gave you the cold shoulder with unfriendly responses. Avoid. We will not be coming again.

Location is the best thing about this hotel. Right beside or attached to central station. Breakfast is decent for a 3-star hotel. Rooms are super small though. Even their cozy rooms don't have space to move around.

  • 3/5 P 1 year ago on Google
Ok for a night if you need to be close to the station. Rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and the hotel is literally a 1 min walk from the station. Hotel lobby is very nice and they also serve breakfast in a buffet style in the morning. I would not recommend for a longer holiday as the rooms are right above the station (see photo of the view out of my room) and you can hear the trains and even the announcements while in the room. So, not a great night sleep by any means.

  • 5/5 Christine S. 1 year ago on Google
The room was small but functional. Our room was close to the train tracks but in the evening with the windows closed you didn't even hear them. We were online at the airport heading home and my step-daughter left her childhood "puppy dog" in the room. We immediately called the hotel and they assured us he would return home safe ... a week later and they are reunited! They took her puppy on an adventure before he returned home. That was the most thoughtful kindness thing they could do. Thank you so much!

Stayed at this property during Aug’22 for 3 days on a personal trip. Rooms - Had booked room on a higher floor, as I read some reviews about the property being on the railways station and lower floors are bothered by the passing by trains. For us, no such disturbances, given we were on higher floor. The rooms were decent sized and comfortable. Staff- Polite and helpful. Breakfast- Good. Location- very convenient and easy to locate. Being an Accor member, even checked out late for no additional cost 🤟🏻. Overall, a very good stay and would recommend.

  • 4/5 Marta R. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are very small with a tiny bathroom. Breakfast are ok. Good location, right in the heart of the city, a minute walk from Central Station. I would recommend for a holiday no longer than two nights (as this hotel is located near train station, you can hear the announcements and trains). Furthermore, there is no space for clothes and not enough space to move around.

  • 4/5 Karen K. 1 year ago on Google
Nice hotel, friendly staff and good rooms for the value. The hotel is right next to the central station, making it very convenient assuming you want to hang around the center and/or travel in/out of the station. Some people complain about the rooms but I mean, it is a 3 star hotel, therefore some expectations need to be adjusted. Also read complains about train noise given that some rooms are above the rails. I personally didn't hear any noises. They have flexible check in (until 3am) and small snack bar for purchase.

Excellent location, next to Amsterdam Central Station. Easy and convenient access to the airport. The hop-on hop-off city sightseeing bus operates across the canal in front of the hotel. The area is beautiful at night with lights and crowds of people walking around. Shopping area very close by.
