The room was ok at first, like a normal hotel but then I started to realize how bad it was. There was a bug in my room and mold in the showers. The TV doesn't work well. I'll give 1 star for the beds as they were comfy but overall the room was gross. I could barely sleep because people would slam doors all night or I could hear people walking upstairs. Breakfast is not all great and not worth paying 15€.

The room is fine, but 1) they charge a 75 euro "security fee" up front that you have to pay when you check in (who knows when I'm going to see this money back). 2) the staff is super rude. They yelled at me when I knocked over and broke a plastic wall on the reception desk that was not even attached to the surface and charged me 50 euros for that

Coming into this hotel with high hopes, I am extremely disappointed to state that this hotel went below my lowest expectations. Paying their lofty fees, we expected decent hospitality and service; rather, we faced the worst staff/customer service and rudest employees. In fact, we had no control over our own air conditioning and had to go to the lobby at 2 AM to request the admin to change it, as they refused to come upstairs and help us with our issues. Towards the middle of our stay, the employees refused to give us an extra pillow for the fourth member of our family. They literally did not even give us a pillow cover. On top of that, the telephone provided in the room was broken, and so was the AC towards the end of our stay. We are so utterly disappointed with the service of Joy Hotel. Instead of peacefully enjoying our vacation to Amsterdam, we spent most of our time worrying about this horrible hotel that provided absolutely no service. Their breakfast was 60$ per day for four people- instead of providing various selections of breakfasts items, we noticed the same three foods daily, with increasing costs as well. This hotel was an extreme rip off and waste of our money. I highly recommend searching for different hotels if you would like to enjoy your stay in this wonderful city!

I stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very nice and explained everything in great detail. It’s very easy to reach the train station from here, as it is only a 3-minute walk from the hotel. The beds were pretty comfortable, the pillow was okay. There is a safe and a small refrigerator in one of the shelves. There’s also air-conditioning, which works really well. Had a good experience here! :)

Such a bad service and unfriendly staff, 19-21.05.2023 17:00 after 5hours driving from Frankfurt, was unwelcoming staff. Because we came with 2 adults and 7yo child. I booked the room only for 2adults, but our little son would pickup by my sister. We won’t take my son for party in Amsterdam anyway, but the hotel staff immediately were getting rude because a little visitor with us. And they wanted my son just waiting alone at the Lobby until I get dress for dinner and party until 19:00, who wanted this happen for checked in! Very Unfriendly

I put 2 stars for 2 things: great location for business area, nice reception people (didn't have any problems with that) and support of Ukraine - as for Ukrainian, a value it a lot. However, I think the hotel can improve on many levels: from sound isolation - you can really hear too much things, to cleaniness - cleaning people didn't really make my bed, pillow and matress smell pollen, toilet brush is dirty, bed linen is not smooth, carpets in halls are dirty, and more. The view is on construction site - I know it's not the hotel's fault, just a fact. Overall, I think the hotel has a potential, but need to put some attention to the details.

This is good hotel but they should clean the room properly if there is any dirt they should clean it. The bathroom lock was broken and bridge door handle was half removed, i told them but they did not fixed it. Hotel staff is good. And good transport , Metro stations is just 5 minute walking distance. They have iron at each floor and microwave at the entrance if you want to heat the food.

The location was good. Very close to the metro which is convenient. It has windows so it's good. However, there was a construction outside that time which was noisy. The shower floor gets flooded easily but using the bathroom towels as a barrier would work. This is probably the most unhygienic room that I have ever been. The telephone that was on the side of the bed was not cleaned at all. It was disgusting. There was no coffee in the room. Considering all this, the price per room per night was too expensive. It's not worth really. I don't think it is worth staying again in this hotel. I don't really recommend.

Stayed for a week in the end of April, everything was good. I didn’t have noisy neighbors but it seems soundproofing of rooms are not very high. Staff is nice and helpful. Location is great for moving around the city and Netherlands in general because of an intercity railway station which is very close to the hotel. A very good deal for this budget.

We stayed here for 2 nights for ADE. in my opinion, decent place to stay if you compare the prices with hotels in the center of a’dam. public transport close by for easy acces to the center. We came by car so the 15€ per night parking is quiet a bargain compared to the Q parks close by. We will stay here again next year for ADE.

One of the worst hotels you can deal with!!!! Everyone works there has he’s own roles it’s really stupid and they are scammers like for real they just want your money they don’t care how they are a money suckers they let me pay 22€ only for city tax, even that I love in the same city !!! Which I’ve never pay it anywhere else it is mostly 7€ in any hotel you go and if you live in the same city then the city tax is gone but here not!!! And they charge you money for each minute you’re late!!! And no water no coffee nothing in the room, very stupid and small and cold room with no worming heet. It was really incredible. We have paid way too much for that stupid experience!

No ventilation in the room I stayed, cleanliness, breakfast and location are good to consider this hotel. I found their admin service poor, they charged extra as taxes and deposit and delayed a lot to give the $75 euro back.

Today on the way to the hotel was a fake taxi cheat money, 21km painted 560 euros, the two receptionists were very patient to give me advice, I do not understand what the police said when also very patient to help me explain to the police, the room is also very clean and tidy, is recommended Oh

Dear hotel staff. How do you explain to me that my headphones are in your hotel? I rested at your hotel yesterday and when I checked out at your reception, I asked if they found my headphones? I recommend you ask the staff. because I will be contacting your management about the hotel theft. I lost Apple AirPods Pro headphones and a blue electronic cigarette with you. A big request for me to answer.

Small room but clean. Service isn't upto mark. They wouldn't clean room for hours even if you left with a request at your door. Location is good, close to metro

as with commercial properties/transactions and dealings..demand nad supply influence prices..if you are going for early check out and dont intend to stay more than 24 hours ..dont book in advance ..you can get same room at lower price directly at hotel..hotel is good for family and children staying purpose..they will charge you for half day if you check in before 3 pm as the day starts at 3pm in netherlands for these guys..

Guy in reception is the rudest employee i ve ever seen:) i totally ignored his behavior, but you should rotate him. Room was ok consedering AMS prices, just need better cleaning. There is literally nothing around, but Biljmer is 1 stop away with metro.

This must be one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had. The room is of very poor quality. Upon first entry, the room was very damp, with the air conditioning turned off. The mirror was broken and poorly mended, cabinet was missing a door and the safe was out of order. The TV is very small, and the wifi is slow. The toilet seat was loose, and the bed uncomfortable. Then, there is the all the noises: - The elevators are very noisy, which is quite disturbing during night time. - The alarms on the doors when they're not closed properly, and the following slamming of said doors. This is also disturbing during night time. - The walls and doors are not sound proof to any degree, so not having a door wouldn't make the noises worse. The staff seemed to not put much effort into smiling, and the welcoming upon arrival was rather cold. There is also this list of "rules" you're handed upon check-in, with threats of fines. With all this said, are there any pros? Well, it's a nice walking distance to Johan Cruijff ArenA and Ziggo Dome, as well as Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA. Putting all these together, I wouldn't come back even for half the price I paid.

RUINED my vacation !!!!! Night shift staff attitude is unprofessional and VERY rude. Room stinks, and staff gave me chlorine to clean it by myself instead of offering a new room or a refund to check out. Worst hotel in Europe, not only Amsterdam.

  • 3/5 Miika U. 9 months ago on Google
I was disappointed. The location is rotten. The service wasn't very friendly. The sound insulation of the windows and walls is poor. I could not sleep because of a bus driver talking on the street. And they do not have earplugs in the reception. The air conditioning also made squeeky noise, although it was very nice to have it and keeped the place cool.

Well, my university booked this hotel since it was close to the conference place i attended. Small hotel, i booked an individual room, but it had two beds; and surprisingly, the room was big, very clean, and the bathroom was spacy also with 🛁!! I really liked it! Didn't test the breakfast, so I have no idea on that ( in case you want to eat without reservations, you have to pay 15€) The metro is less than 10 min away and 20 min to the central station of Amsterdam. In total, 4 stars mostly because the room was really good!

  • 3/5 Dina E. 8 months ago on Google
Its is OK hotel, the rooms was fine and clean. There was only tea included, not coffee and the coffee is more popular more than the tea. We got a bit confused when they asked us to pay extra taxes at the hotel. And when we booked the hotel there was no any taxes information written there. When we come in and out! The reception stuff never say hi or anything. Normally the reception stuff alway say like good morning, good evening, hi or anything. They like dead. The breakfast was really expensive so we choose not to include the breakfast and pay our own breakfast. It was so close to the Metro which is good.

I booked it last minute as I didn't plan to stay in Amsterdam overnight. Reasonable price, nice and clean room, can't complain, only one detail, there is kettle in the room but no coffee that can be purchased at the reception. I requested late check in, there was no problem with that, the only thing to keep in mind is to have a bank card as they don't accept payment via Google pay or on advance.

Great location, 5 minute walking distance to the train. Staff was very kind and attentive. Rooms we a bit small but clean, modern and comfortable! Great stay!

5 minutes from the bjewilwyck metro station. Or I believe it is spelled that way. Walls are thin so you can hear the adjacent room very clearly. That's a plus for some people. Breakfast is very good. The staff are great. Not Hilton so keep that in mind.

Terrible experience with the room and the staff. Horrible 24 hour very strong sewer smell in the bathroom that the staff stated is in every room lol. Very crammed and tiny. Electricity very low power no coffee and the staff is rude. I won’t be back. Location was good next to metro but we were super uncomfortable the whole stay.

  • 2/5 Arjun A. 1 year ago on Google
This has to be one of my poorest experience at a hotel ever. Firstly, the Room Service just knock couple times and come right in with their key card with no hesitation and permission. Second, the toilet doesn't have a proper door, it's just a frosted glass with two holes in it. Thirdly, the toilet exhaust fan didn't work, which is unpleasant all around. Finally, the safe in the room didn't work. Only booked here as we were late booking the trip and this was one of the more affordable options. Other than that, the location was good, metro makes access to city quite quick and easy, with late night metros being available.

The reception is a bit off. Seeing someone with a phone headset in their ears instead of talking to me doesn't really show me a positive attitude towards guests. The room was clean and the shower was nice, although the temperature kept changing. It's ok, not special, just ok.

  • 5/5 Floria P. 3 years ago on Google
The stay at joy hotel was only for 1 night however, their room was very large with tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was large with shampoo and conditioner. And the internet connection was quite good, enough to attach netflix to the TV. Very easy to get to and from Amsterdam using the Metro. Only a 3 minute walk from the station.

I don't like the hotel the receptionist is not friendly very complicated and I can't even let my friend stay for so long just a few minutes..

There is a construction outside and they work overnight with very loud noise! The hotel didn’t even bother to tell us before we make the booking ! Complains are being ignored! „ not our problem „ they say! I Travel 200 days in a year , this kind of service and bad attitude is rare to witness. Never again

A very nice hotel, friendly staff. The hotel is good in reach of the trams that get you in the city. A 10min walk. Calm neighborhood so you don’t have noise at night. Nice rooms, quite big, good shower and a very good bed. Slept really well.

Well located hotel close to a metro stop. Nice view but bad smell coming from the pipes even on the upper floors.

  • 1/5 Alexis K. 1 year ago on Google
Walls are like cardboard here so don’t expect an sleep while staying here. Additionally they charged my 20€ extra after I already paid for it and assured from hotel staff that there would not be any additional cost. Room service was also not done.

  • 5/5 Element 1 year ago on Google
Rooms were spacious and with AC, good WiFi Connection, Breakfast with good variety, Well-sized parking lot (Which is for free by the way). Kind and polite receptions who also allowed me to keep my car in the Parking lot after checkout. The Metro Station is only few walking minutes away and the Metro brings you directly to Downtown and to the Main Station (Amsterdam centraal) Highly recommended and will stay there when i come back again

The receptionist were lovely at best. Except one who looked at her mobile when I approached the desk. There was a gentleman on the desk that was always approachable and attentive. The only concern I have is the beds were like military beds…. also horrifyingly the cleaners had not cleaned under the beds? On the wooden floor? The beds were that fragile that they moved when one turned over. . they were like cabin beds. First night there a cleaner came in our room unannounced at 18:50 did not knock; I was just out of the shower. On first arrival it was inviting. Sort the beds out? And cleaners need retraining. Thank you to the warm kind and inviting gentleman at reception. Breakfast was delicious and continental coffee was splendid.

They have cancelled my booking and offered the booking for same room for +100.00 EUR more expensive.when I contacted them via app, they said it's not their mistake but their systems.they didn't offer to honour the old price or give any discount. The room floor weren't clean, when barefoot could feel the dirt. It has a good location, close to metro to get to centre and it has the car park. Overall it's overpriced hotel, for £368.00 room was too small. I have stayed in same size room in France with cleaner room at 4times less cost for 2people. Only tea was available in the room, coffe was from one of those machines in reception.

Nice clean rooms, quiet area. The staff was very friendly and quick to help. The hotel was in the near vicinity of a metro station so travel to and from the city was very easy.

  • 5/5 Eduardo M. 1 year ago on Google
Room big enough, clean. The hotel is a few meters from the metro so you can get to the city center within 25min. Maybe the only bad remark is that the staff might not always be as nice as we would like but nothing that bad, they’re quite helpful at the same time.

  • 4/5 ic l. 1 year ago on Google
Not travelling in the tourism season, so the price is a nice deal. If you don't plan to go back to the hotel for some rest or put down some souvenirs during the day, then it's a good choice. It's super close to a station and ~30-40 mins from the city center. The room is not very spacious and the sound proof isn't very good though. Staffs are friendly but the cleaning can be improved.

  • 5/5 Ali K. 3 years ago on Google
Before I arrive I call and ask for Mellum! I always receive the best hospitality and service from him. In general this hotel is worth more than 5 stars!

  • 3/5 Luna E. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is about a 5-minute walk away from the metro station Bullewijk which is perfect for commuting to the city center or Ziggo Dome. We stayed over because we were attending a concert. The rooms are fine, not special in any way. But most importantly ours was clean. There's a small kettle, a tv, and a mini fridge. The sanitary was all fine. However, the hotel is quite noisy at midnight. The first night I heard my neighbors having 'fun' very loudly. The second night I heard tourists screaming in the hallway and their rooms. This is the only downside. If you're only staying in the hotel to sleep at night, you'll be fine.

I really like this hotel, the reception staff are very friendly, the cleaning staff do their job perfectly... and the kitchen staff is super organized and the food is good and fresh every day, I love having breakfast especially when she is the cook, a little older with red hair, I think her name is Larisa... she always has a smile on her face and is very polite, she exudes only joy and positive energy! what can I say, it's a hotel with a great team, and this hotel deserves its money!
