I had dinner at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. The welcome was correct, without personality. We were placed on the ground floor: for a restaurant boasting of its view, we were disappointed. Especially since another table in a better location (close to a bay window) was available (everything is relative). After request, we were able to change tables. The wait to get the menu was quite long. They preferred to give us the wine list before the menu, which is quite strange... Overall the service was awkward. One of the servers had very in-depth explanations of the dishes, quite technical, but we got lost. As for the food, in summary I would say: fatty and sweet. Despite a menu consisting mainly of fish, poultry and vegetables, I found it quite unbalanced. All the dishes were more sweet than salty, the sauces spoiled the taste of the fish (the perch in particular). Even the dark chocolate for dessert tasted more like super sweet milk chocolate. This may have been a voluntary choice by the chef, but I completely missed it that evening. The butter was a sort of tasteless whipped cream. I would have preferred to find the fat of all the dishes in real good butter. Missed. I ate everything, digestion was heavy and I even thought I was sick. I have had the chance to eat in many Michelin-starred establishments around the world, this one was undoubtedly the least good value for money. Bad day I hope.

Very nice flavors of the sea with chic ambience. There are both indoors and outdoors seating which is very nice since the place has a beautiful view of North Amsterdam. The service was good and timely, each dish didn’t take too long to arrive and flavors are great and innovative but somehow still doesn’t make my top three in Amsterdam but within top 10 for sure.

Wow. Just wow. Let's just start by admitting my mistake. I ordered here a couple months ago (due to covid-19 they have a special take-out menu). We ordered a 5 course meal for two persons. We had our special date night a were expecting a certain menu listed on the MOS site. We ordered it on Monday to take-out for Saturday. When we arrived home the menu turned out to be different from what was said on the website. I was super disappointed, because I was so excited for the menu that was listed. As I was about to cry (yes, that is how much I care about food, embarrassing), I decided to call them and ask them about the change in menu. Speaking to one of the chefs or staff from MOS, he apologized for the change in menu, but apparently they change the menu every 2 weeks on Monday and I just ordered it before the change. I did not like this at all. To compensate me for this, they offered to give me a free bottle of wine on my next order (stubborn as I was I did not like this solution, but there wasn't much else to do, but accept). We started to make all the meals and my mind was blown. Normally, when you are biased and already have your mind made up, it is hard to change it, but when there is some sort of chemical symbiosis in your mouth going on, it is hard to rebel against it. This was probably the BEST food I've ever had. Every meal was exceptional. The combinations were so good. I thought I did not like blood sausage (as I mostly eat vegetarian), but even this was amazing. With every meal I was surprised as to how the are so well combined and paired. Well to end this story, we ordered again 5 weeks later. My boyfriend picked up the order and got the free bottle of wine, which was really good with the fish. They did not go cheap and gave us a proper good wine. And again, mind is blown. Food is amazing. So generous with everything. You don't have to worry that you will ever run out of the sauce (which is often the case in fancy restaurants), because they provide you with plenty. I would like to end this review with just saying : GO HERE, IT IS AMAZING! And maybe a cheeky slogan; this amazing food, will get you in the mood hehe

Incredible food but very slow service the portions were super small. Don’t come hungry! I left mid meal took way too long and portions way too small. They also rude when you ask for cocktails .. wine only at this place.

Great restaurant, I waited a year to finally go so the hype was huge! We went for lunch and were seated by the window, which was lovely. We chose the 6 course menu with some wine. We got the 7 course menu, my husband took vegetarian and I took the regular. The wine pairing was very good as well. The timing of the meal was perfect and incredibly accommodating. As parents sometimes chef tasting menus take too long, particularly when you have a booked babysitter. The timing of this experience was perfect and the staff was very attentive. Our favorite dishes were the carrot dish from the vegetarian menu, amuse bouche, caviar/monkfish pairing and granny apple sesame dessert. But every dish was amazing. Definitely returning to try their lunch service.

I could really tell how much thought has gone into every single dish, and was pleasantly surprised repeatedly how everything worked so harmoniously in a refreshing way. They played it so well with contrasting textures & flavors and making it work in such a magical way. The staff members were easy to talk to and inviting. They were also very passionate about their dishes and went extra miles to thoroughly explain them and even share where the key ingredients are from. The view was also pretty because we got to sit right in front of water and watch boats and swans go by. I've been to a number of higher end restaurants around Amsterdam, and this was my favorite in terms of food. MOS is also at a very reasonable price range when compared to some others. Overall very pleasant experience and I look forward to coming back here!

Beautiful location right opposite the Ei and close to Amsterdam Central station. Parking will be a bit of a challenge. We had dinner here on the top level (the restaurant has two levels). It offers a great view across the Ij river and the atmosphere is relaxed and private. Food was nice, we had the 6-course menu. Especially the wine pairing was great; the sommelier has a very enthusiastic way of presenting the wines. The food was very nice, but not really outstanding compared to other 1-star Michelin restaurants. The cooking is definitely up to par with the 1 star Michelin level. Other 1-star restaurants that I have visited really aimed for the second star and you spot the difference between those. Price wise it is a bit expensive if you just compare it with other one star restaurant. But the great location adds to the price at well! Nice to have visited and definitely recommend it because of the combination of food, nice and skillful sommelier and location.

I was impressed by the drink choices they made for their dishes, it was so balanced. The wines they chose tasted amazing without food as well. Some dishes (like sea bass with tuna and celeriac stock) are to die for. Some things that I did not like that much: 2 out of 5 dishes were not that good in my opinion (but that could just be my personal preference). They lacked balance or were inclining towards one ingredient that killed the taste of the rest. One of their waiters (or it was a maitre d') was not willing to help at all and even looked quite intimidating (however, the rest of the waiters were extremely helpful and pleasant).
