No Mexican chef. This is no where near authentic Mexican food. A 40€ pitcher of "margaritas" that was nothing but crushed ice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The manager would not even come to discuss the price of the "margaritas". A real scam.

For a place which is located exactly in the city centre (close to the Dam Square) their prices are still reasonable and the service is fast. I was grabbing there lunch/dinner a few times already. The food is pretty good. I've tried tacos and loaded nachos, as well as Margarita drinks 😋

Service was not very kind. De main dish gets served while you are eating first course. We were seated upstairs, were it was not so cosy. The food was average, enchilladas were shallow warm. Not 4 stars to my opinion. Cocktails were good.

Very tasty food and friendly staff. I really loved the tacos and quesadillas. I will probably get there again before ending my trip to Amsterdam.

Think these guys get a bad rap cos they’re in the tourist centre. The foods good and drinks aren’t too bad, price is affordable and service friendly and quick. We were the last customers too. They also have a cat that lives there - plus points!

Found this place near the city center. Had big hopes for it, but unfortunately, it fell a bit short from our expectations. Some of the items were really tasty, but others were bland and forgettable. I would eat here again, but knowing what to expect, it should be a better experience.

Was a really friendly atmosphere. And good service. It’s only a small kitchen so if a lot of orders go in at once it may take a bit longer to get your food. Food was really tasty and they offers some local Mexican drinks. Would definitely visit here next time we are back in Amsterdam.

It's one of the places you would go if you want your food with mild spice to it. Although, I cannot say the guacamole was made with love. All in all, friendly atmosphere and food could be slightly cheaper considering the quality.

Good Mexican food, also for vegetarians, fair prices and strong mojito. If Mexican is full, go few meters further, there is one more in the same street.

We had a really great time, service was really good. The food was great as well. Kind of touristy but still very good. Good price considering the quantity! We had de enchiladas, loved it!

Wonderful place for dinner! We had chicken enchilada and chicken tortillas. The portions are quite big. And the atmosphere is nice. Would recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this place in Amsterdam! The service was top-notch, and the food, oh my, it was fantastic. Yes, it might have a bit of a touristy vibe, but honestly, that didn't take away from the overall experience. What impressed us even more was the price – incredibly reasonable, especially considering the generous portions you get. We opted for the enchiladas, and they were simply divine! So, if you're in Amsterdam and in the mood for delicious food, great service, and a place that's kind of touristy but still manages to deliver, this is the spot to check out. We left with happy hearts and satisfied taste buds!

Good place for Tex-mex food. We had Fajita’s for 2 person and the spareribs. Taste was good but could be more rips for a main dish.

I was fooled by the Mexican decorations and the music. Good music and decorations. Only problem was the food. It didn't even taste like Mexican food. I got the burrito and it didn't even taste like a burrito. The salsa picante was good but the actual food was not. Fries vs rice? Everything was served with fries instead of rice which was a little confusing but alright

This is an amazing Tex-Mex restaurant near the center of Amsterdam! My Spanish wife and I went here and we were given the best service I've ever had in a restaurant! We had the burrito and taco lunch combos with nachos to share, and they were fantastic! Steven, the team lead took time to make sure our meal was great and conversed with us as it was a slow day. We told Steven about how we are on our honeymoon, and he surprised us with a shot of tequila and lime each after our respective margaritas, completely on the house. He's an amazing person and an even better host, if you are looking for a place with great service and food, look no further than The Mexican. I don't usually make reviews, but Steven and the amazing food made for a great experience. Thank you once again Steven!

Hole in the Wall - and my oh my was I surprised! I had the homemade nachos and they were fresh and amazing. My friends had the chicken tacos. I can say they were the best nachos with guac I have ever had in Amsterdam! Friends loved the tacos as well. Great staff, good at recommendations based on customer's preferences.

The place is cozy and the staff is super nice, the food was delicious. Portions were kinda small but tasty, and price is affordable. I’m glad that I went to the toilet after I ate because if I went before I wouldn’t stay to eat… Floor was slippery from the dirt and looks like it was never cleaned… Also very bad smell.. If the toilet is like this I don’t want to imagine how the kitchen is… Mixed feelings, hope it helps !

The service was subpar. We ordered the mixed grill, the meat was dry and didn't taste fresh at all, the fries were stale and the "salad" tasted like a refrigerator (I would hardly call a bunch of refrigerated lettuce together with some canned corn on top and a slice of cucumber a salad). Even the coke tasted like syrup (because it was). It was so bad that we left after a couple of bites. Definitely overpriced for the quality.

Very friendly staff, and the food is delicious. They have all kinds of Mexican foods. I'd recommend the burrito or the steak. Very good restaurant. Down below is a picture attached of the burrito dish served here.

Friendly staff, but on paying requested a gratuity which leaves you very on the spot. Steaks were a good price but then chips and sauce cost more on top. At almost €50 for two steaks, chips, peppercorn sauce and two non alcoholic drinks it was rather steep

Loved the food. First time I ate Mexican in a restaurant (I think). I liked the ambiance, the food and the personnel. It was a bit cold inside but that’s subjective. Loved it!

A lovely little restaurant situated quite centrally. Quick and friendly service. I have no complaints about the food. Their portions are quite substantial. Meal for two with drinks comes to about €45. Which isn't exactly cheap, but given it's location, it wasn't a surprise. I would recommend this place.

The food at the Mexican was great, be careful if you're not at all into spicy food as mexican dishes often are. You could probably ask without jalapenos. The staff (1 serving, 1 cooking) were kind and great at their respective jobs. Service was quick and and the atmosphere felt like you were being served authentic mexican food.

It was my first time experience to try Mexican food, the shop was small, but lovely, but to be correct the food wasn't something i liked at all, maybe because we're used to another kind of food, although we had ordered two different things but the taste was almost the same in both orders mine and my friend's!! very very spicy with a special kind of spice that i couldn't know what was but something like curry but a bit different and more spicy to hot 🔥 anyway was not bad and the personal was very nice, kind and cheerful so i give 3 stars
