We went there to smoke and chill, turns out this was the perfect place for us! The music is really nice, the people are relaxed and friendly. If you get something to drink you can chill here in a great atmosphere and smoke a bit, enjoy your time. The bartender was also very sweet, I think her name was Ana! We spend two evenings here and liked it a lot - definitely coming back when in Amsterdam again. :)

Three floors of great fun - the decor is very punk, with every surface adorned with stickers and graffiti. You need to buy your weed elsewhere, but can drink and smoke in the bar - as long as there is no tobacco in your joint. The music and atmosphere get better as the night goes on. Go too early and all you’ll hear is euro-trash pop and remixes. Still a great dive though.

It's quite a large place, it's got a bar at the front and two large smoking rooms towards the back that look out on to the canal. Alternatively, the bench in the front window is perfect for people watching. This is not a coffeeshop, so they do not sell cannabis here, but you are welcome to smoke it. Grab a seat and a waiter will take your drinks order. The beer is not the best quality, I've had several flat pints from here over the years, try a Corona or spirits instead.

When in Amsterdam a trip to Hill Street Blues is a must, if only for the interesting photo opportunities of the graffiti and sticker covered walls and ceilings! In fact there is not much of this place that isn't covered with something, including famous people's signatures, quotes and memories, if you can find them! You could seriously spend a year here checking out the decor! Other than the look of the place, (although I was only here on a quiet day) you can feel the chilled out coolness in the air here! Would have stayed to check this place out in the evening if I had the time, I will when I go back to this gorgeous city, the staff and service here was outstandingly friendly!

This place is truly epic. My favourite haunt in Amsterdam. The decor is stickerbombed graffiti everywhere and the vibe is very chilled and relaxing. I’ve been to Cafe Hill Streets Blues on several occasions now and have to say they do the best hot chocolate around and are reasonably priced compared to some places. The doors in the smoking room open outside onto the canal giving an amazing view. Music especially in the evening is pure blissful electronic trance and modern instrumental.

Highly recommend. Drinks aren't super cheap but reasonable. Great atmosphere and vibe. Feel free to smoke up.

I’m from Greece and anytime I visit Netherlands, I always go to this amazing bar in Amsterdam. One of the chilliest bars, I’ve ever been in my life! The atmosphere is so cool, the music always flows with the vibe. You can have some drinks from the cool stuff and light up some joints! (They don’t sell weed and tobacco is prohibited) Everything is amazing except the prices, are bit high I guess! To the Administration: If you ever decide to close permanently, please inform me. I wanna take a little piece of this great place!

I liked the place itself and felt like if I was a local I'd hang out there (that's what gets the positive towards the 1 star) but there weren't any menus around and for what we ordered the price was horrendous. It cost €17.50 for one shandy/radler and a hot chocolate with Baileys added. Nuts. Nice hot chocolate but we were definitely ripped off. The bar guy was also super grumpy and when I went to find a table before my boyfriend ordered he told me to wait until I had a drink.

Probably the coolest place I visited in Amsterdam. Decor is great, it's quite big, and there are plenty of confy seats. We were lucky enough to get a sofa by the window, so we had views of the canal. Staff was really friendly, we ordered once in the bar, but they also come around to check if you want to order anything. They don't sell here so pick up before you go. The windows open up into the canal - which is great for some fresh air.
