The decaf coffee that is the friendliest and has the most interesting flavors peeking through creamy milk in a nice flat white. It’s for a good reason that they’re supplying a lot of the bars in Amsterdam with their coffee. Some great vegan pastries as well, like the ginger apple cake. Passionate people that are always smiling.

Nice, little coffee place. Beans with a strong and unique flavor. I had the cappuccino with par milk which was really delicious. The backing goods and pastries are delicious as well.

I know Rum Baba is a coffee place but today I tried the matcha latte (coconut milk), it was delicious. If you are up for a treat there is a large choice of pastries. Staff is friendly and it is, no doubt, a stop by if you want to have a good coffee in Oost.

Most delicious espresso in East, and very nice staff. These people are brewing perfectionists. I once got a new espresso as they found they gave me a ristretto, and once got extra slices of cake end of day as else they would throw it. Only thing is that I had a time that a water glass or a fork was not clean.

On October 31st we took a table inside, and the staff didn't check our corona QR code, neither other guests were assessed. Great place, love visiting you, but would like seeing you paying slightly more attention to well being of your guests in that regard.

The coffee’s great. The service is efficient. You’ll probably have to line up but the wait isn’t terribly long. Their cinnamon rolls are probably one of the more popular things on their menu and sells out quickly. If you’re into the American kind and like having your cinnamon rolls a little dry and smothered in chocolate, caramel and what nots that masks the taste of cinnamon then this is for you.

We ordered a cappuccino with oat and matcha latte to go. Coffee was average, would be nice if I could taste some more of their coffee beans or specialty. The matcha latte was good but should’ve been in a smaller cup. Overall, I was quite disappointed in their coffee and think its too overrated. I would not go again.

I had decaf coffee and chocolate marble cake. Both are okay. It is a good place for coffee and sweet items.

I had latte which was properly hot and milk form was so nice. I think cappuccino should be good too.

My favorite place at the moment in Amsterdam to go for a delicious coffee. I highly recommend the filtered coffees of the day. I would love to see gluten free treats soon :)

The shop is quite nice. I've been there quite a few times though where there were huge queues and they were severely understaffed. I used to buy coffee here every month, and they have some of the best fermented coffee I've tried. Unfortunately though, they raised prices by a whopping 56% (apart from a few lower quality ones), making this one of the most expensive roasters in the Netherlands. I now buy my coffee from Fascino, I'll miss RumBaba!

I buy their beans to brew at home and I must say: Great specialty coffee! Always aromatic and rich in flavour. Every cup is full of layers of taste that will make you want to both savor and finish it too soon. But the reason I'm writing this review is because I'm blown away by their decaf. I've never tasted a better decaf cup and I've tried multiple roasters. Please keep doing what you're doing and roast some magical beans!

Great place with really good medium roast coffee. Even got a cup as a souvenir (don't tell!). Will definitely remember the place and come back!

Few sitting place but “uitstekend” coffee experience here. One of the must cafe’s in Amsterdam

  • 4/5 Josefina M. 9 months ago on Google
Very good coffee, I even took some roast home. Unfortunately the seating, vibe and food had a bit more to catch up to the coffee. Haven’t gone back since, as there is plenty of competition with better vibes (personal opinion) nearby. Would recommend as a to go cup of coffee or as a quick coffee stop to chat with someone, but that’s about it. Lemon poppy seed loaf was tasty.

My favorite coffee place in Amsterdam and so far the rest of the world too. It’s the perfect mix of unpretentious friendliness mixed with amazing coffee in a homey environment. If all coffee places managed this balancing act the way RumBaba does, the world would be a happier, more caffeinated place (but if you prefer decaf, that’s fine, they’re not arrogant like that). And don’t sleep on their baked goods and other non-coffee products, they’re all excellent too. I could go on, but I won’t, just go see for yourself - you deserve it and they deserve your business.

A fantastic small cafe with excellent food and sweets, and the coffee is always delicious! It's a great place to do some work or just hang out, inside on a rainy day or outside when it's sunny. Do drop in!

I have always been a big fan of Rumbaba! Great coffee, great service. But since they only have the shop I really miss the original place where you can sit down nicely. The new place is poorly furnished with no attention given to comfort & style. Such a shame for a place with great coffee and cakes.

Their coffees are great, but my only criticism is : no toilets for public use? While you serve rocket fuel coffee? All sit down establishments should have a customer toilet, I believe, but especially if you're serving catapult-through-the-digestive-system cups. Everything else is very Amsterdam vibe. Nice staff!

Great coffee and helpful staff. One of my favorite places to stop for a chocolatey espresso when I'm in Amsterdam. The decor/vibes there are really cool and unpretentious.

They have many different flavor of pound cakes , and three different beans to choose which is amazing , the one we had taste like strawberry smoothie almost the aroma is very strong!

The place is nice but the vibe of the barista in our case was just rude and was really uncomfortable with us taking pictures of the place. When asked if we can take pictures he told us with a bad attitude that when he go inside. For the coffee I was expecting much and it was just ok, nothing compared to other speciality coffee places in Amsterdam. My girlfriend had a matcha and it was tasteless just pure oatmilk. We where there to try many varieties of coffee and also buy coffee bags but the vibe of the barista just gave us the feeling of leaving. Unfortunately he wasn't nice to us but seemed to have a nice relationship with other customers. It's understandable if the guy doesn't want pictures but common you can be nicer.

I love their coffee beans that keep buying for years now. Tip, check their online store as it works marvellous. Although they are very friendly when you meet them face to face :-)

LOVED the coffee ❤ baked goods were good but slightly on the dry side. Great seating area but also packed and can be hard to find a seat. Friendly service and DELICIOUS coffee definitely makes this a great addition to the neighbourhood!

Great service and espresso from Pavel today! I’ve been coming to this place for years. Always delighted with the quality of flat white here. They have unique/signature taste that differs from other coffee spots in Amsterdam. Fair prices as well!

Very good quality coffe (perhaps even the best coffee in Amsterdam 😊 ), friendly baristas, drawing latte art, and last but not least, you get plant-based milk options

Cute place, warming environment. You can sit and work on your laptop. Tables not so solid tho.

  • 5/5 Colin 1 year ago on Google
The coffee is pretty incredible, but honestly think of this place more like a takeaway place than a sit in place. Pretty small, and the other location has no sitting space, at all. My wife says I have to also point out that it smells great :)

Great coffee. Tried on V60, Aeroprese, Clever Dripper and Chemex. Different grind settings and techniques gave great results on all. Highly recommend. I hope diffetent batches won't change the quality.
