Simple accommodation, you should be aware that the rooms are very small (consist of a closet, sink, bunk bed, coat hooks, stool and window). So it's just something for sleeping. This is definitely not for older people, as the stairs down to the rooms are very steep and the steps are very small. Cleanliness is okay, every room has a toilet and a shower. But you should be aware that the walls are very noisy. πŸ˜‰ Breakfast was very good, the lounge is relatively large and nicely decorated. The housekeeper is really very friendly and very helpful. The location is really great, you can walk to the center or the main train station in 10 minutes. Otherwise really something different, has something. 😊

Excellent location. Rooms are small and basic. What I expected for a boat! But great atmosphere, very welcoming staff and views of the harbour in the morning are unmatched from a hotel. We were given the back of the boat. Small private deck area where you are allowed to smoke. Would highly recommend staying here.

I stayed here about a year ago, and picked it for its location and general state of being a funky adventure. I wasn't disappointed then. I see that this year, it's still in business at the same location on the Oosterdock, near the NEMO museum. Breakfast was good, but this is a hostel, and very tight for space in the cabins. One person has to sit on the bed, for the other to pass by. Price was about as low as anything this close to downtown. It's a 15 min walk to the central train station.

Located a very short walk from central amsterdam and it's train station. Rates are among the best in that area of the city, and it's a very unique experience sleeping in the boat. Each private cabin comes with a bathroom and can house 2 or 3 people (it's quite tiny though). The owner is very welcoming.

The boat experience is nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful. But the rooms, beds, sheets and towels are not so clean, the toilets are awkward and there are bedbugs. We had to leave because of that and we got no refund. Be careful if you're considering staying there.

As many previous reviews emphasize: The room is small, at most 2x2sqm. The innkeeper is nice at the beginning, but becomes a little rougher as the stay progresses. The rooms are clean and the trash cans in the room and bathroom are emptied every day. It should also be noted that you cannot throw toilet paper into the bowl, but rather dispose of it in the trash can. The biggest problem with the room is the tiny window/hatch - it gets very hot in there during the day in summer, so you can only really stay in it in the evenings. The hatch doesn't really provide fresh air either, humidity collects on the ceiling and mold lurks behind the ceiling molding - in the room and in the bathroom. All in all, a fun experience where you shouldn't expect a luxury cabin. The Botel Zebra still offers a sufficient alternative to the hostel.

Near to the center! Rooms are tiny but breakfast is good and owners are really nice and kind.

The owners are very friendly and speak good English. The breakfast was completely sufficient and also varied - of course not to be compared with tourist hotels. The room is very small (2x1.5m); but what is TO BE EXPECTED on a boat. However, the room layout makes up for it. If you don't jump out of bed in the morning full of energy, you won't bump yourself. There was also a toilet and shower in the next room. The beds were freshly made and the room was also cleaned. Due to the construction (I repeat: it's a boat!) there were corners here and there that didn't shine due to difficulty or inaccessibility. The location is central and the surroundings are beautiful. There is nothing more to expect!

Room very small. Given the fact that we couldn't find a hotel in Amsterdam with a comparable price, it was sufficient. Unfortunately very noisy. It was enough to sleep. Location is good! It's not every day you sleep in a botel!

I've never experienced such a rip-off! The room cannot be called the storage room. The area outside the so-called beds is almost 1m2. You can't even sit on the bottom bed because it's only 50cm high. As soon as you let water run somewhere, a bad smell comes up from all the pipes. The beds were never made and the room was not cleaned. The cup in the washbasin was so dirty that it should be banned. The breakfast is of the "cheapest product from the discounter" variety and the service is very grumpy as soon as there is something to clean. And for something like that, four of us pay €600 for two nights and everything in advance?? Absolutely not recommended!!!!! You could list so many things that are deficient, but you don't feel like it anymore.

Tiny rooms, bad smells, old and dirty linen, dark rooms, almost no ventilation, noisy, I booked 3 nights and did not stay one night. I spent about 2 hours in the room which was enough. Wanted prepayment,If you are on a tight budget, I guess would be ok, but rooms were nauseating. 1 plug in the room with horrible cheap decor. They said they were fully booked, I guess some people will sleep anywhere. Avoid unless you are broke.

Excellent service and lunch, without a doubt if I return to Amsterdam I would stay again.

Very small cabin. If it's a warm day, it's also warm inside (no A/C). The staff is very nice.

The Zebra Botel was an experience to say the least. The rooms are extremely tight and there was one outlet in our room. The showers did have hot water, just little water pressure. The owners were extremely nice and energetic. We had almost zero WiFi in our room (for those who rely on WiFi while traveling). The location is great and about a 15 minute walk to the Red Light District. The price you pay is the quality you receive.

Bedbugs!!! Definitely not recommended. All out clothes got contaminated. Needed a pestkeeper back home, not worth it even though for the low price.

πŸ‘ I am giving a four star as they ran out of waffles. Otherwise it would have been a 5! This place has a dark, wooden, maximalist interior which suits the cafe perfectly. Surround by barrels and a barrage of beer choices, I came for the brunch as it was recommend on Google. Service was friendly and a...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Amazing stay. My friend and I went for a fishing trip. The host Karen was lovely and arranged bikes for us at a very good price, its only a short cycle to the bus/train station. As we are both guys we grabbed unhealthy food on the go but there was lots of nice food left in the cupboard and fridge, r...
