When we arrived there was a warm friendly welcome, as soon as you walk into the boat you are transported back in time. The boat is magnificent and kept in beautiful condition. Everything was clean and well cared for. Many thanks to Richard who is such a great host and knows the history of this beautiful vessel and was kind enough to answer all my questions. The breakfast was great and had the option of freshly cooked eggs and bacon which were cooked perfectly. The location was an easy free ferry ride to and from central station. The view from any window of the boat was stunning and we will definitely return to this wonderful place! Thank you for an unforgettable stay here. I think it's worth keeping in mind you're staying on a paddle boat from 1911! So yes the boat moves a little and the rooms are a little small but have everything you need for a great stay including AC. Brilliant experience, would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay on "Kapitein Anna" on a recent trip to Amsterdam. (I did not rate the food because we did not eat but it sure smelled great!- the proprietor had been the Chef at a very highly regarded hotel in AMS previously). He was wonderful and chatted with us about the history and restoration of the vessel - it is beautiful! As anyone who has been on a boat would know, the accommodations are expectedly "tight". There is ample room on a ledge to put a few days worth of clothes changes and plenty of space under the berths (twin size beds) to stow luggage. The cabins (and entire vessel) were immaculate, the shower had hot water instantly! An incredible value, in a culturally important and fun area of Amsterdam that is a 10 minute (free) ferry ride from Central Station!

Its the best for a smaller group to have some night there. The staff is very nice. Rooms are small, but this is a boat :) Breakfast is not the best but good. Coffee is free on the boat! ☕ Not far from the ferry, so you can reach the city center in 20 minutes.

Great place, very nice and helpful staff and clean and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast with fresh eggs made to order by a friendly chef. overall setting is really nice, the boat is well maintained and the location is great. Some nice food options at walking distance, but because of the free ferry to the city center your options are numerous.

A romantic place next to city center. A free ferry can take you to the train station every 15min. It is 2min far away from the hotel. A public parking is also 5min from the hotel. You have a beautiful view on the river, especially with sun rising when you have breakfast. The boat and the room are very cosy. Antony is the perfect host and he's very nice and always happy to make your stay wonderful, from your arrival, at the breakfast and till the night. The restaurant also proposed nice and tasty menu with fine service. Some people may claim about noisy rooms, but remind this an authentic paddle boat of more than 1 century... Just book in a company hotel liner if you ask for your home confort.

We spent a long weekend on the Kapitein Anna and we loved it. The boat is in immaculate shape, and has a great "Death on the Nile" early 20th century athmosphere. A bit sad that dinner was not available, but this only shortcoming was outweighed by incredibly friendly and serviceminded staff (Anthony). We had a great time!

I would highly recommend this boat hotel if you get a chance to stay on here don’t miss out! The staff are very friendly and helpful the boat is very well looked after literally a few mins on the Free Ferry from central station! It’s like ur in the centre of Amsterdam but without all the loud noise. There are 2 smoking areas on top of boat or near entrance! The breakfast is also 10/10 I can’t wait to come back here but they normally sold out of rooms way in advance

Let me start of by saying if you are a particularly light sleeper then perhaps this isn’t the best place for you to say. Some bumps & noises from pumps and the dock but they didn’t bother us and I had an amazing sleep during my stay. The staff are super friendly and the hotel itself which is an old boat is such a fun experience. We didn’t book with breakfast included but paid extra on arrival as it looked (and was simply delicious) You can also ask the staff to cook up some hot food to go with the amazing breakfast. Excluding breakfast there wasn’t food on the boat but you have free tea / coffee, alcohol and there is a little supermarket about 4 min walk away. Also less than a coupe of mins away is the free ferry service which will take you across the doc to the main city. The F4 takes you right across to central station. I will hopefully get back for a visit to Amsterdam again soon and if I do I’ll be rebooking here! My only downside is that the rooms don’t have much storage, which is understandable as there isn’t much you can do change that on a boat but perhaps a slide-able drawer under the bed would be handy.

Didn't realise this is a houseboat hotel so it's really relaxing easy to get to Amsterdam central from ferry late night you need to get a cab but it's great really

I highly recommend this location. The staff was kind, accommodating, professional and informative! I absolutely loved the room. The tv had casting functionality so I could watch my own shows. I adored the dining area. It had some of the most beautiful views of Amsterdam! Last but certainly not least it was a very short walk to catch the ferry to Centraal Station!

Easily the most charming hotel experience I have ever had - not to mention EXCELLENT customer service and hospitality. Richard and Anthony were exceptional hosts and provided the most attentive care to their guests I have ever seen. The Anna herself is gorgeous with a great history. Cannot recommend enough. 6 stars.

10-stars! Incredible hospitality, incredible staff, incredible experience. Charming boat with tons of character, views and a perfect location in Amsterdam. We loved our stay here, the complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate was a great addition. A+++++++

Loving it! Very friendly and helping staff (thanks, Richard!), great atmosphere, the ship is simply suuper cool. Suggestion: in the evening, go to the upper deck, and have a drink (Gin Tonic or whatever strikes your fancy.. ).

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
