😐 Bring your own mat or you have to pay 3 euro to rent one of their old ones. I hadn’t been here for a bit but it used to be full service (they even gave you a towel before.) But rest assured the teacher informed me it was for my benefit because now I have “options.” Like the option to pay for a mat... Bring your own mat or you have to pay 3 euro to rent one of their old ones. I hadn’t been here for a bit but it used to be full service (they even gave you a towel before.) But rest assured the teacher informed me it was for my benefit because now I have “options.” Like the option to pay for a mat or not take the class? I think they could have made an exception given that they’re a yoga studio and most studios provide mats free of charge. Anyway the class was challenging, a bit repetitive and not many Pilates elements for a Pilates class. Only a minute or two left for stretch at the end.

I booked a yoga trial class 2 days in advance. Upon arrival at 7 am the door was closed. It rained and it was cold. No one answered the door. Another gentlemen arrived and was also surprised the door was closed— he did mention that he didn’t come for the yoga class but had an appointment. Perhaps this is a very exclusive studio, but it was clearly stated open from 7am on Google. I was obliged to return home. I also paid for the trial class, which I didn’t end up trying. Neither was I contacted afterwards or refunded the payment. In all pretty terrible experience !

Used to be happy about this studio, but lately I noticed the quality going down and I am not satisfied at all with the flexibility offered to extend the expiration day of my subscription ( I had a knee surgery, I was not asking to postpone for silly reasons). Furthermore, I think the place is unfriendly. Teachers are not interested in exchanging 2 words with their students ( of course I do not mean IN the studio, but you know.. when you get out of the room iit is nice to have also a human contact ) , the changing room is a hell. 30 women trying to get dressed at the same time, the lockers are broken, no enough room to dress. definetely looking for a new studio

I see there are a few reviews of the receptionist being rude. Unfortunately that was my experience at the 20:30 yin class. It was my trial class and Anna was very rude at the reception because I didn’t know how their app works and I only purchased a credit instead of signing up for the class. (Which then took me less than 1min to sign up) No explanation of the studio or anything. The studio is not bad.

Sadly the management of this school have shattered what was once a blissful yoga center/community temple for practice. Unfortunately despite having some of the best teachers in town, they've turned this studio into a commercial pilates fitness center and it has lost almost all integrity of what yoga is. If you are someone who already practices yoga or values it's core principles, go elsewhere. Movements is really disappointing nowadays. Most of the regulars have already left due to changes over the last 2 years. It started out with the massive reduction of 90 minute classes founded on the traditional hatha sequence and things went progressively down hill from there: Students in the classrooms are talking before during and after the classes which is disrespectful and irritating, many of the classtimes have been cut in exchange for pilates, and sequence changes made by management - not for the better; multiple times. Daily classes here used to be the highlight of everyday with many familiar faces of dedicated yogis doing their daily practice in peace and contentment. It's a money driven center now. Also stopped my membership. many other schools nearby here in the city offering great classes. Try those 🙌🪷

I went to Hot Yoga here which I liked it a lot but do not forget to bring your towel and water bottle! You will sweat a lot!

Hit or miss with this studio. Some teachers are excellent, but others are very poorly trained, do not understand basic vinyasa poses, and rush so quickly through the class it could lead to injury (I have been doing hot vinyasa for 20+ years). The studio needs to invest more in standardizing the training for its teachers in proper vinyasa flow, so that customers know that every class they sign up for will be a good one.

Movements yoga not only has a fantastic facility with lockers, showers (even an outdoor one!), a few snacks, and nice studio BUT the staff has also been really nice to me by fulfilling a few personal requests I had. Overall a 5-star experience and I just bought a month pass there today after experiencing their service (:

The Sunday Pilates Burn class with Maddy is fantastic! Maddy totally changed the way I think about my spine and my core. Patrick does a great Pilates Burn class too.

Movements yoga is awesome, front deck staff are great. Definitely came to the right place! Anna was an amazing teacher, full of life and love, and dedication to the practice. High recommend this spot and teacher!

I was sent home for being a few minutes late, as the instructor “would be pissed” if they let me in. I can understand that, although it would be fair to also mention/warn about this upon reserving. I gave it one star because the staff I interacted with were also rude and unprofessional. Overall it gave me the vibes of a way too commercial studio. Definitely NOT “the studio where they know you by your name and you immediately feel at home”, as they state in the description.

I am disappointed to discover that they buy fake Google reviews. As a customer, I rely on honest feedback from other customers to make informed decisions. It's disappointing to see a business resort to buying fake reviews in order to appear more reputable. I hope that Movements Yoga Studio will reconsider their approach and focus on providing excellent service and genuine customer experiences. Until then, I cannot recommend this business to others.

Hot C sequence is espectacular, ying yoga & pilates burn practices are great and the heat in the studio is super! However, there are some areas of improvement: - It would be good to finish the practice with mindful, peaceful and soulful messages; finishing with messages of cleaning and behaving in the changing rooms are not the best way to finish a yoga practice…. - Mat cleaning should be done outside the practice room. With all the mat cleaning, it is not possible to have a proper, re-energizing, relaxing and recovering shavasana - Lockers in the changing rooms do not work properly - A little bit more of compassion and friendliness from the staff would help to improve the experience of anyone practicing in the studio and create a stronger community… missing a little bit the sense of community… Hope they listen to the feedback… because, apart from that, it is a beautiful studio and it has a superb vibe :-) Namaste!

Very nice, clean yoga school. The heat gives your workout an extra dimension, just like the well-trained teachers. Keep it up Movements! 🙂🙃🙂

5/5!! No matter how I go in, I leave feeling 20 times better. Every teacher, and therefore class, is so unique. THE place to go and sweat in Amsterdam.

Went to a Hot C class with Victor and had an excellent experience. The studio is clean and welcoming, and the class was the perfect level of challenging.

Really tried to like this studio but it's not for me. More often than not, the sequences felt like HIT training combined with yoga postures. A few things to consider when you go there: + Good mats are provided free of charge + Clean, modern changing room with nice amenities like hair ties if you forgot yours + The rooms are actually hot so you will sweat + Some of the Yin classes were lovely - Instructors generally do not demonstrate the postures/movements - Instructors talk you through the sequences at a pretty high speed plus often "strict" PE teacher voices - Busy classes so there is very little distance between the mats - I experienced/observed only minimal correction - Air can get very stuffy towards the end of class - Savasana becomes an individual/optional thing and almost impossible as people will start cleaning mats/leaving the room - Layout of changing rooms makes it very difficult to navigate To me, if you are looking for a hot HIT/yoga combo this might be the perfect place. If you are new to yoga, correct (not rushed) postures are important to you, or you are looking for a more holistic approach, go check out some of the other lovely studios in the area.

Love this studio and go as often as time schedule allows…I usually join morning hot Pilates classes which are a fantastic start into the day…Natalia’s classes are super well structured and great to follow. Looking forward to tomorrow morning class ….

Natalia is a very thoughtful and understanding teacher. Every class is well-structured but there is always room for individual requests. She always incorporates knowledge from the history of yoga, pilates and acupressure which makes her classes very informative. I really recommend to try out her classes.

Such a lovely studio! The place gives a really comfortable, hygienic, trendy but also, most importantly, total zen feeling. The staff is so kind and the whole vibe is just great! I've been to a lot of places but this one will stick; I'm a huge fan!

Hi everyone, My complaints are only about lockers and bicycle parking space of this branch. Movement City is a brand new branch so they will have them soon i think. By the way i can advise that there should be a makeup and hairdryer table like Movements Vondelpark. Teachers are awesome! They are helpful and lovely. Especially Marieke! Her pilates class is really succesfull and improves your motivation and strenght of your body in the same time. She loves to conversation and really good about welcoming. Bianka and Victor, Tommy (I know them from VondelPark), Nadine, Nuno are pretty great teachers as well. Movements yoga is really kind to it's members. They had hard situations due to covid but they didn't let their members down anytime. In a nutshell Movements Yoga is best place choice for saying that: Namaste.

Had a very good experience! This was my first time Hot Yoga, you were guided very well through the class and ended with a meditation exercise. The rain against the window made it complete. After the lesson I was completely zen. I'll definitely go again.
