I have made several documentation assignments in Nieuw Dakota in the past. You can see some of them at this album.

Great place to see contemporary art. The art is thoughtful, innovative and touching. I was here during the opening event of the current exhibition, "Yes, I do", and it was amazing! Very beautiful to see couples in love, creating art together. The staff is also very welcoming and helpful.

Ik was onder de indruk van de kwaliteit van de laatste tentoonstelling. Deze plaats organiseert regelmatig tentoonstellingen. Kom langs als je in NDSM bent.

Nieuw Dakota is a new gallery in the very up and coming Amsterdam Noord. It is a large warehouse space for contemporary art. I visited last week, and they are currently showing an exhibition called 'New Saint Petersburg', showing work by several young artists from the Russian city. The exhibition has interesting paintings, tender photographic portraits, video installations and interactive pieces. Many of them are innately political pieces, challenging the perception of modern Russia in the throws of political change, and all are for sale. The space itself is very open and bright, situated right next to the N.S.D.M ferry port, a free ride from Central Station. The area is great to visit, and I had a wonderful time exploring all of the surrounding warehouse buildings and unique bars. This gallery is definitely worth a visit for its array of exhibitions and its fantastic location, and entry is free!

Regelmatig kunstexposities waar je gratis naar binnen kan lopen. heerlijk even weg van de stadse drukte en je word zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. Zeker een aanrader!

I visited the current exhibition "Yes, I do" which I loved. I find it beautiful how the relationship between the artists is reflected in the works. And how the exhibition gives you such an intimate look behind the artworks. I would highly recommend visiting the exhibition and taking the time to learn more about the artist couples.

I loved the exhibition Yes, I Do about the concept of love! Upon entering the exhibition we received a warm welcome by the hosts. The artworks were amazing and the exhibition space was not too crowded. Any questions we had we could ask to one of the hosts! Overall great experience, and a great activity when visiting Amsterdam Noord.
