My friends and I went in seeing the big selection of ready made food. Prices looked acceptable, they don’t accept credit card, only visa and debit. Everything was fine but the cook was rude to my friend as she didn’t know what to order since everything was in Dutch and there were no descriptions. My friend said “I’d like a sandwich but I don’t know what they are”. And the cook said in a rude tone “i don’t know what you want” and did a hand gesture and went on. Then after my friend just decided to eat a random item on the menu, she tries to tell the cook what she wants but gets a weird stare as if she was offended with being interrupted. The food tasted okay, a bit lacking in sauce and there’s no clear prices on the stuff in front of you. The 2 star is mostly from our experience. Really bad manners from the woman cook.

They've been here 20 years (or even longer but I've been coming here for 18 years out of convenience). Quality is consistent, taste is original and prices are reasonable. The service is not great, especially the guy when you're not Dutch (he has issues), but the lady is okay. It's not the best Surinam place, but this one is very conveniently located and worth a try.

Just not My favorourite. Hapsjeshoek accross the road is just better quality for less money. A no brainer for me

Very nice place , our friend enjoys everything there. The food was awesome, and the boss of the shop was very kindly and open minded. She also make good advice and recommendations for some different kinds of what to see in the inner city of Amsterdam. If we are back in this town we will definitely come back to your place ! 👍

Great food but they charge you the disposable plastic tax on paper cartons and do not allow you to bring your own to avoid the tax.

I always love more indonesian food bought in surinamese restaurant rather than in a place called “indonesian” restaurant.

Everything you could expect from an easy takeout place. If you are complaining that things are in Dutch and thus giving a bad review you should really get over yourself and deal because it wasn't very hard to figure things out, but you are also in The Netherlands where people speak dutch (imagine that). There is a HUGE sign that tells you right away they do not take credit cards and so you just pay cash, easy peasy. Lady behind the counter was pleasant and helpful and we had a great quick lunch.

Sure you can taste better food and have a good service anywhere else

The driver of their Tokoman van is a dangerous individual who shouldn’t be employed. He almost hit me and my kids on the crosswalk when he drove through a red light. When another driver honked at him for this, he then brake checked them and flipped them off.

Quick service, many vegetarian options, good option for takeaway lunch

I do like this Surinamese take-out. It's clean, uses fresh ingredients, dishes and pastries are not too greasy, they offer a lot of choice (even a nice vegetarian roti roll) and still, most dishes are really tasty!

I’ve had visiting family and friends visit me for the past 3 months. Every time a new person comes, I take them to Tokoman. I personally think they have very authentic foods. It’s not like wok to walk or Panda Express. A lot of the dishes are similar to the ones I’ve eaten in local places throughout Asia. My favorite is the chicken piri piri burrito.

I loved the Surinamese Chicken. They had a large variety and different combinations to choose from all from Suriname. Not ideal to eat in, but great if you want takeaway.

Food is great! The guy gave us also a great service ! One of the bast fast snack that you can get in the city! 💯🔥
