We stumbled upon this place on a rainy day and were looking for something quick, filling and healthy, and this spot was just perfect for that. The food itself was super good and wholesome. The fish cake and the honey chicken were both really good, especially the fish cake - best fish cake ever!

I think it was the place I was more happy eating while in Amsterdam. I was really wanting to eat real and delicious food - not pizza, burger, etc etc. I wish I had more time to get back there but unfortunately didn’t on that trip. The restaurant has this system: you choose from various options and create your own dish. You choose between rice, pasta, couscous, etc and then the protein - vegan proteins available!!! So nice - and then the sides which can be beans, salads, vegetables… The food was delicious, I was very happy and with the feeling that I ate something that would make me feel good. The staff was lovely, explained all the options for us - the names were in dutch. All a very good experience.

Recommended if you’re looking for a place with warm food for the lunch. Lots of options to choose and create your plate. I liked the experience and taste of the food I ordered. Mushroom burgers, coleslaw and rice with spinach are on my plate with pictures attached.

If you've got the tableware and dinnerware, all you need is Foodware. Close to Festina Lente on Looiersgracht canal, the cafe renowned for its photo-friendly outside statue of an elderly gentleman on a bench stroking a cat, Foodware is a restaurant and takeaway specialising in freshly prepared fine dining without artificial ingredients. The inside has the appearance of a deserted garage which will appeal to those who favour the minimalist look. I would almost be willing to bet that, in a previous reincarnation, it was a deserted garage. The place feels more like a shop than a restaurant. You can almost always be assured of a seat, as the clientele are predominately those coming for a takeaway and those wanting to supplement a meal already prepared at home. Cupboards, stocked with delicacies from small specialised producers, line the walls. Usually, there's an excellent assortment of niche gourmet products and delicacies, so it's worth popping your head in the door from time to time just to see what's on offer. There's a smattering of tables and chairs in front of a large vitrine packed with trays of the dishes on offer. In the background, the open plan kitchen is a hive of activity. Foodware offers international cuisine for vegetarians, meat and fish lovers. Dishes can be assembled in a "mix and match" fashion; Alternatively, the restaurant's meals consist of a main dish, plus a choice of two side dishes. The menu always features at least two curry dishes, one of which is vegetarian. Chicken and salmon feature prominently, as do various pasta offerings. Side dishes are a choice of around half a dozen vegetable recipes, in addition to spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncini, minted couscous with cranberries and roasted pumpkin seeds, oven roasted Roseval potatoes with sea salt and thyme, and wild and Basmati rice. For those not counting calories, the dessert menu offers tiramisu, carrot cake, lemon meringue pie, pear or lemon pie. Wash down with coffee, fruit juices and a great choice of beers. Honest and healthy dining at reasonable prices.

Great options to select from…you pick 3 items (grain, main, veggies) and can choose drinks from the cooler. Great option for healthy choices and everything tasted fantastic.

Such a refreshing change to the food we’ve had so far on our trip! Super delicious, healthy, clean entrees, reminds us of how we eat organic in California. Chef worked at a Michelin restaurant for years and wanted to open a more laid-back spot. Must try the sticky chicken, meatballs, and curry with shrimp.

Delicious food, friendly staff and casual vibe. There’s something for everyone: you choose a base (couscous, rice, etc), a protein (salmon, chicken, vegan curry, etc), and a veggie. They will wrap it up to go or heat it up to eat in. And the friendliest staff we’ve encountered in the Netherland’s.

I thought that had ordered baked potatoes with prawns but it seems I'm must have been wrong, so I ordered potatoes and as a bonus received 4 pieces of prawns, food is delicious but is that not expected or is that another bonus? 😂

This place takes a high 4. The concept is being famous now in Amsterdam and food quality wise, foodware are the best so far. The varieties are rich that serves to all tastes, the end portion is really satisfying big with a good value for price. The service was super good, staff were friendly and helpful specially after informing them about my allergy. Recommended

Had to return to Foodware! Even better the second time!! Something for everyone. The food is incredible. Try the shrimp curry if they have it. But the salmon is always amazing. Sticky chicken for the kids too. Self-serve wine by the glass and a self-serve water tap with endless amounts of Amsterdam’s finest. No netter the season or reason we will always make a visit to Foodware!

Truffle chicken is really delicious, and there are also many other options. The place is clean and cozy, and the service was great. It's a bit pricey though, got this for €17.50

Stopped in for a quick lunch and are glad we did! Super cool order-at-the-counter concept but served as a hot meal to your table for dine-in. They were very accommodating for dietary restrictions with several vegan and gluten free options.

A really good place away from the crowds. We were here with our dog , who was lying under the table. We paid 14 EUR for the main dish plate which we could combine by ourselves.

A place you can choose at least 3 fishers, meat, sides and salads. Many options for vegetarians and vegans too. Delicious, fresh and healthy food. Small place you can feel the atmosphere of a old canteen. Good wines and other drinks.

Top spot in the 9 streets for healthy, delicious, high quality food. The chicken in truffle cream and fish cakes are our favorite. Only point of improvement - switch out the single use plastic with a compostable option please.

Wow! Delicious, fresh and healthy food and the guys working there were so warm and friendly! Plenty of healthy (and non meat) options to choose from when building your own dish. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was just ok. Meat dishes were overpriced. They have something for everyone: vegan, vegetarian, protein, heavy, light… staff was very friendly.
