Best place to study! But don't believe their 'integration/equality of internationals', you won't get a position at the uni as an international, e.g. programme representative even for a programme that is NOT offered at the uni in Dutch, if you don't speak Dutch xdd

The university has a dreadful communication problem. I once had a question and received an answer two months later (although I had an emergency). They’re understaffed and students feel completely detached from their indifferent professors.

So the standard at UvA is that discussions about gender or religion are a no-go... Even when supported scientifically. Please be aware of this when applying to this university which degrades the importance of science...

As a part of travel, I visit the local university in the town I am visiting. Nevertheless this university took my breathe. The structure and facilitates are undoubtedly world class. The only odd thing I realized that the public buses are not frequent at the time I traveled.

Very disappointed. Terrible communication and zero assistant for international students from the admission and immigration office. I wanted to apply for an extension for my visa, they gave me conflicting information, i paid the fee for the procedure and when it doesnt work out they refused to take responsibility. And now my application is risking from being cancelled.

The new position of the UVA in Science park is less comfortable than the old building in the center of the city on the Roetersstraat. There was a cinema and student cafes nearby. But the new buildings are perfectly equipped and provide all the conditions for study and scientific research. There are also no parking problems for cars and bicycles.

DO NOT study at this university if you have other options. Unless you want to be exploited by them

The University of Amsterdam stands for quality science research and is extremely popular with international students as most science and other lectures are given in English. Student rooms and apartments are very scarce and expensive in Amsterdam!

Nice campus. Slept on one if their couches. Had a great time

Absolutely shocking from this university. I was due to attend UvA this September and paid the immigration fee and housing deposit. Upfront I was told that I would not be getting the housing deposit back if I was offered accommodation which is fine. Due to some issues with renewing my passport, I had to uneroll. When I called asking about the immigration process, I was told that I would be refunded the immigration fee I paid as my application was never submitted and I never completed the process - I never got my passport. It has been a month and I have not received my refund. I called to find out why and I have not been given any reason why. I was told ‘it’s in our website’. I asked for this page on the website to be forwarded to me. Nothing. Absolute joke.

There are YouTube videos more informative than an entire year at this place. Good coffee though

I received an email from the university which says “ You are receiving this email because a laptop belonging to an employee of the UvA was recently stolen. There is no indication that the laptop has been used or that the data it contained has been misused. As a precaution, we still want to inform you and ask you to be extra alert to phishing emails. What was on the laptop? The laptop contained student data such as names, addresses, email addresses and dates of birth. It did not contain any sensitive personal data, such as bank account numbers, citizen service numbers or login details (UvAnetID and password).“ My name, address and date of birth are enough for someone to steal my ID and misuse those information and clearly university is not care about that. In Clouds era which all big companies like Microsoft or Amazon provide them why a big university store students information on a laptop??? What a shame…!!!

Required attendance almost as high as an average student

Love everything about it. Nice location, friendly stuff, inspired lecturer, helpful students.

I have passed my exams B1,1.2 I am very thankful to my best teachers who’s teaches me very nicely UVA- talen is a best platform for new learner’s.

Worse place to be at if you want to get an education, there’s other (much better) alternatives
