As a starter we ordered baba ghanoush. For the meal I ate beyti which I liked the taste. Turkish tea is amazing just like in Turkey, thank you!

Very authentic Turkish restaurant - endorsed by my Turkish boyfriend! The restaurant is small and cozy, with big crowds on weekend evenings. They have a big variety of mezzes (Turkish name of side dishes or appetizers). Most of them are worth a try! For main dish we ordered mixed grill. There were 3 kinds of kebab, my favorite is shish kebab - quite a lot of spices (cumin especially) which give the lamb a very special and strong taste. With all main dishes you always get salad, bulgur and tzatziki (but Turkish version, with much thicker yogurt). For dessert many people know the famous baklava. But you HAVE TO try kunefe which is my favorite Turkish dessert so far. It’s also made of a LOT of sugar. But it has a secret ingredient: cheese, which makes it very unique from other dessert. It’s almost like you are eating a sweet and pastry version of pizza (see my last pic). All in all, very nice and fairly priced place to go. I recommend to go in a group so that you can order many different mezzes and try a bit of everything!

An unassuming but surprisingly good restaurant. You could easily live in the area without ever noticing it. Yet it serves fresh, uncomplicated, tasty food. Good and friendly service too.

What a lovely surprise. Delicious food and friendly service. Made a reservation an hour before and am so glad we got a table as it got really busy later on. We ordered baba ghanoush, Tzatziki, greek salad for starters that were accompanied with bread. For mains we had the lamb chops and sea bass. Mains came with bulgar rice, a pomegranate salad amd small serve of tzatziki. All dishes were flavoursome and well balanced. Definitely would recommend and would recommend. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Decent spot for authentic Turkish/Eastern dishes. Food was very good, well prepared, and staff were quick to help us to a table and take our order. However we were not tended to as well as other spots we've been to and had to ask for our check, it may not be the absolute best spot for tourists. Food options are decent for those specifically looking for kabobs and Turkish dishes. They had a good selection of drinks too.

Cool restaurant in De Pijp with flavourful dishes! I arrived for dinner on a weekday in a large group. The appetizers came quickly and were a delicious mix of dips and breads. The main dishes took a bit longer but were worth every second of the wait - the chicken was some of the best I've had, well-seasoned and perfectly grilled. The chicken also came with several side dishes, including pomegranate salad, seasoned rice, and yogurt sauce. All extremely delicious and generously portioned. The waitstaff were kind and patient as well. The restaurant definitely deserves a visit - and you definitely won't regret ordering the chicken!

The food was lovely! Portions were perfect and the staff was really nice. The wait for the food wasn’t look at all. The atmosphere is very nice so overall a great experience! Worth the price.

Nice place for food. The prices are pretty small, also the portions not too big. Meat dishes were really amazing, so juicy. As for hummus was missing a bit of spices. The kanafe was not the best. But overall tasty and simple Turkish place.

We were welcomed by a very friendly staff and he made sure we had what we ordered and that we were satisfied. Food is amazing. This place is now our favourite Turkish restaurant in Amsterdam. :)

The food was all great. Good salmon, good lamb, good aubergine. The wait time was a bit too long for comfort, but that by itself is not a big problem. The flies were a problem. So many flies. On the walls. In front of my face. And if i didn't pay attention, on my food. Staff is friendly, helpful.

Okay food, not the best. The lamb sis was too chewy. It’s supposed to be super soft. Adana was a bit dry. Chicken was good. I don’t get why the side dishes were served in a common plate rather than having them in our own plate. The desert kadayif was not the best as it’s not supposed to be served with cacao ice cream. Service was fast and okay. Overall okay but not a recommender.

The food quality was good. The lamb skewers and pieces were soft and tasty. The grilled chicken was a bit dry. The baba ghanous was made with eggplant pieces, going well with the bread but would be too salty by its own. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we wanted to change our reservation to an earlier hour.

We were there as 6 people. We tried the chef’s choice for meze selection. It was very delicious! Especially oruk and humus! Later, we ordered fish, meat and veggie options. Everybody was very happy with their food! I would like to go there again:)

It was my second time. And this time was for my birthday. Food was awesome and service was super. We got great recommendations from the waitress. All the team was friendly. One of the best restaurant in Amsterdam. (Trust me, I also working for a restaurant:))

Great quality food & superb service. Had the mezza for 2 which contained 4 cold & 4 warm dishes. Everything was good only portion size was pretty small so still hungry after finishing the mezza

Honestly not good at all. I enjoy Turkish food a lot, but the quality and portion sizes here were below average. The starters were too oily. The kebabs were too salty, dry and small in size. The service was way too casual. Our server was forgetful. All in all, I would not recommend Orontes De Pijp.

Went to this place as a walk-in. Lucky to get a table as it was very busy. The food was top notch, great value and the staff were very friendly. Go here, you won't regret it.

The food was very good as was the service by the owners daughter. Nice hole in the wall without a lot of ambiance but just fine for an informal meal. We tried the Turkish wine since we'd never had that before. It was a dark, dry red with a little tannin and was surprisingly good.

One of the most tasty turkish inspired restaurants I have eaten at in Amsterdam. Location in a nice part of the city with multiple cafes and terraces nearby

Orontes has the best Turkish food I've had in the Netherlands. I tried the Beyti and it was really good. The taste of the appetizers was also very good. Even though I don't like the baklava very much, the ice cream was quite delicious. The waiters were attentive and polite. A place I will go back to.

The dining experience at this place was terrible. My friends and I placed an order, but shortly after, the manager approached our table, mentioning that our bill would be too small for a Saturday evening. Even after explaining that we planned to order more later, he wasn't satisfied and insisted we order now or leave. Due to my friends' exhaustion and their eagerness to taste Turkish cuisine, we stayed. Think twice before choosing this place. P.S. The waiter was genuinely nice; I only give one star because of him. The food was ordinary and not particularly special.
