A small and very cosy theatre. The main hall resembles the layout of a circus hall. Due to its small size, the view of the stage will be good from any side of the hall, including the balcony. Therefore, when buying tickets, you can choose those that will be more profitable for you in terms of price. Very beautiful architecture inside the theatre. There are very cute balconies on the second floor, where you can go during the intermission.

It's a gorgeous place for arts, theater, performance, cinema, dance, ballet. Everything you can imagine. It's very big and sophisticated building. Used to be a circus actually in the past. Fun fact: it has an elevator that can carry elephants 😁

Went here for The Book of Mormon and it was amazing. Seating is good although a the seats felt a little shaky as if they weren't bolted in properly. Sound is good, little loud at times and the show itself was amazing!

If you visit Amsterdam, it's a must-see. This building is historical jewellery, great acoustic for concerts and a fantastic bar for a glass of wine before a concert.

Classy theatre located on the Amstel River. The interior is immaculate and maintains a vintage feeling from the original construction date. Staff are professional and accomodating - particularly love the retro uniforms they don.

Famous Amsterdam theatre with a long long history. Old style, seats high up around the central floor, small stage. Where you meet the local Dutch celebrities at premieres. We visited the World Xmas Circus, which was very nice and exciting. What an acts! The annual start of the Xmas season. Worthwhile!

Beautiful, extremely well maintained. Worth a visit without a performance. Sound during performance of the Swanlake was modest at best. Also there was no champagne or any other white wine than sauvignon at the "balcony bar", probably I missed something but that seemed a bit limited.

Absolutely stunning theatre, the staff were courteous and friendly and the facilities excellent. The Boyzlife concert was fantastic and we loved the addition of an interval allowing the chance for a toilet break and the chance to buy a drink without missing the show. We travelled from the UK especially for the concert and with front row seats we definitely were NOT disappointed.

The theatre has a no phone policy, so it wasn’t exactly possible to take pictures inside but my oh my this was such an experience! The inside of the theatre is majestic and beautiful, with a very steep gallery that allows for great view even from afar. On the very plus side there is high accessibility (elevators, wide corridors, etc) and -our was a dialogue, not the opera, but I assume it can be arranged for everything- in one of the direction booths there was a sign language interpreter, which I really appreciated. Downside: the seats are really small so if you are tall or wider than a petite figure, well… prepare not to be the most comfortable!

Great venue with a nice and diverse selection of shows/performances. Recommended also for private events.

A grand, elegant theater that provided the perfect gathering space for an intimate performance by the band HAEVN and their many highly talented guest artists. "This is the Holy Ground," said HAEVN as they performed their song with that name. Not a bad seat in the house, although the front row provided a once in a lifetime experience. Kudos to all the friendly and helpful Carré staff. The amazing man with the red jacket is a true star.

It’s a privilege to watch a musical here. The ambiance is just so beautiful. The acoustics, decors, lighting all so good!

Beautiful location for a concert. We went here to see Ben Howard (which was amazing). It felt like just the perfect size for such an act, and that no one had to be too far from the stage. Really nice to be able to choose between standing and sitting. Both great options at this place. The theater is located very central and right next to Amstel river.

The beach bar is amazing. I haven't been inside to the theater itself, we went only to enjoy the outside floating beach bar and enjoy the weather. The prices were reasonable and fair and the service was friendly and inviting. I will definitely be back next year.

I think it's not a good place to watch concerts while standing. It gets a bit claustrophobic if you are not a regular clubber. That was the case for me anyway. Nice place to watch comedy shows or theaters.

Muse concert. Absolutely amazing. Drinks were reasonably priced for this type of venue. Seats comfortable and a very good view

Carré has a great legacy and is a true iconic part of Amsterdam. It remains a special place to be even after not having visited for many years. The old fashioned elements are still in place and wel maintained. Seating is comfortable (at least where we sat in the first ring). We also (pre)booked an arrangement for the break which was nice (just get a drink from the table and eat some nice snacks at your own reserved table instead of standing in line at the bar). We enjoyed a great performance there and hope to come again sometime soon...

Beautiful theatre, lovely time watching shows here. Both lovely seat from the balcony (no restricted view but just far from the stage) or the stalls (excellent seat!)

Carré is always an experience. I like the old school ambience and feel of the theater. With the ambience comes the limitations of really small seating rows, especially of you are above 190cm.

We had an amazing time visiting Carre again since many years. Not much has changed and I love that. It is still the most beautiful theater in the country and you have a great view on the stage from any seat. We visited for The Book Of Mormon which is currently running until April and it was such a funny and wel written musical. Parker and Stone (South Park) have created a true masterpiece. I highly recommend both the theater and musical.

The Royal Theater Carré is a beautifull theater, it is huge and looks great from both the outside as the inside. The ambiance is awesome and most things you will see there will be a great experience. Parking is not great so come by public transportation, taxi or by foot.

Beautiful theater! The only complaint is that the seats are slightly too small, reminiscent of flying on a plane. Saw the Joker with the accompanying orchestra and it was great. The project quality was a bit lacking for the price but it was still enjoyable.
