    The receptionists are very lovely people, however the practitioners there will not take your complaints seriously and are quick to send you out of the clinic. If you need more than a prescription don't expect to get it here. Edit to draw attention to the sarcastic reply and inability to even spell my name correctly from the practitioners. I see that the details of my medical history are not considered private.

    NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!! Unless you want to wait over 40 minutes cause you will never get your appointment at the time you agreed. OH but BE CAREFUL if you arrive just 5 minutes late because then the appointment is cancelled and you will still be charged for it. JUST A CLEAR EXAMPLE it's even worse if you make the appointment by phone(which they suggest most of the times) they said they will call you 14:30 is 16:27 and still waiting for that call!! NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!!!!

    Avoid at all cost. Not every practice in Amsterdam is this terrible. I was registered to this practice for about 2 years and I regret every second. I started asking for help once I had manifestations of a potential neuropathy, had to beg for appointments and they kept getting angry at me, stating it was all part of an anxiety issue or "Long Covid". After registering to a different practice and finding help from better professionals that actually care about human beings and don't get angry when you challenge their diagnosis, I got properly diagnosed with a serious neuropathy I'm recovering from for about 2 years already.

    I need to argue and negotiate at every step, the questions I am asked point at proving me wrong, instead of trying to understand my symptoms or questions. No empathy shown when I’m in pain. “Everyone thinks they have an emergency, if we would listen to that we would collapse” they told me yesterday, the 4th time I contacted them in pain I couldn’t manage anymore. It used to be a great practice, but now everyone keeps complaining they are understaffed. I have left the practice in tears many times this year.

    Some of the best doctors I've been to so far. After suspecting an early miscarriage and feeling emotionally overwhelmed the junior doctor treated me with incredible care. Not only did he take almost an hour of time to make sure I was fine physically, he also supported me mentally and was very compassionate and understanding. Previously I was a little scared of the appointment, worrying it could affect my distress in a negative way, however in hindsight it did the exact opposite and actually helped me cope with the situation better. The check-up appointment was also reassuring and kind. I'm happy to have been treated like a human and not just like a number on the waiting list. Waiting time was also very short, appointments were easy and quick to make and staff are very friendly.

    very unpleasant experience and very mean reception people. We came in a heavy rainy night with our 5 weeks old baby, The reception didn't allow us to see the doctor only after 5 mins delay. The worst thing is we called them to explain the situation (our baby was keep crying at home that we couldn't put her into the car + traffic on the road), still the reception people rejected us when we arrived. I felt really bad because my baby was so small and we couldn't see our family doctor to check if she is OK which kept us worried the whole night. Don't recommend and not trust worthy place at all!

It was consultation hour and there was only 1 doctor. And yes, there was no blood and the ambulance had been called. No realization or any sympathy whatsoever. I am registered with a very nice doctor 150m away. I would recommend that to everyone. (Original) Slechte en ontzettend bijdehante assistente die vond dat de huisarts te druk was om naar een aangereden dame te komen kijken die op straat lag. Het was spreekuur en er was maar 1 huisarts. En ja, er was geen bloed en de ambulance was gebeld. Totaal geen besef of enig medeleven. Ben zelf bij een hele fijne huisarts 150m verderop ingeschreven. Dat zou ik iedereen aanbevelen.

    I can't rave about the new junior doctor enough. I know Dutch doctors get a bad rep and I've had some bad experiences with their lack of bedside manner, but this new doctor is incredibly caring and thoughtful. I am a nervous patient and was treated with respect both times I have visited her. It makes your experience so much more comfortable when you feel like a person and not just a patient. Thank you.

    Pathetic service. And a receptionist who shouldn't work in a doctor's practice. She should be in a one star hotel at best. I had contracted an acute chest infection while traveling the beautiful Netherlands. Due to the severity of the infection, I couldn't sleep properly and could only sleep sitting up - lying on my side would make me choke. I hadn't had proper rest for 2 days! I was exhausted. When I made the appointment online, I inadvertently booked the wrong day for a consultation. I had just arrived in Amsterdam that afternoon and went straight to this "Tourist Doctor". When I found the practice, the receptionist refused to allow me to consult with a doctor because I was there on the "wrong day". I was pale in the face, coughing, wheezing and struggling to breathe. But the receptionist absolutely refused to budge and wouldn't even call out a doctor to have a look at me. Anyone with half a brain would be able to tell in an instant that I wasn't in a good place. Maybe the receptionist is a doctor?? (I didn't ask). I urgently needed a consultation with a doctor and the appropriate medication. Avoid these clowns at all costs. Find a better Tourist Doctor. There's pharmacy around the corner with a Tourist Doctor who knows when he's doing. This bunch is a circus.

    I’ve only had bad experiences with this huis arts post. They prescribed me the wrong medication, have made me wait for weeks for appointments while suffering and waiting in bed with tonsilitis for an appointment to get antibiotics. Avoid them at all costs, they have given me appointments that then when you arrive to the office they tell you actually they cannot see you because of an error they made, and send you back home to wait longer while suffering in illness. The receptionists are cold, rude and unprofessional - should really find another profession as the zorg does not suit them. The doctors are adequate and professional when you get to see them however, but the receptionists who are the primary source of contact are genuinely awful people to come into contact with.

    Waiting time for a phone consult with a doctor minimum 8 days, for a in house visit minimum 2 weeks. Rude staff on the phone, they do no listen to your complaints and previous experiences with your condition. It seems to me that they enjoy for you to suffer instead of prescribing you the medication that you need. On top of that, in case of a urgent visit, they send you to a unqualified student doctor. At this point you are safer doing some research yourself on the internet. Been here for almost 2 years, so i've experience it all. Most of the time, i was waiting till 5pm to call huisartsenpostenamsterdam to actually get medical attention. Now looking for a new GP asap.

    Thoughtful doctor, friendly recepsionist, and a clean place. I really liked that the doctor was listening to my complaints, took relevant notes, and even called to check with me two days later. Would feel safe to visit again, if there is a need to!

    Worst place ever. I went there when I had just moved to Amsterdam. The doctor referred me to a specialist and told me it would cost me 260 euros. I went to the specialist and was billed 1400..... I went a second time to get a prescription and had to call 10 times because the pharmacy couldn't get the prescription. I went twice to the pharmacy for nothing because de Makroon practice told me ''this time the issue is solved'' which was not. I had to to the practice pick up the prescription before going to the pharmacy..... Change your staff because they are not professional and treat your client with a little bit more respect!

    Friendly, convenient, attentive...everything we typically don't hear when listening to our friends complain about THEIR Huisarts. I've gone in feeling fine (for some preventative lab work) and wasn't told to come back when i felt like i was dying, and i've been seen the same-day i called when i DID feel like i was dying. And it's not just me-since they opened around the corner from my Chiropractic office I've recommended de Makroon to my patients AND my Staff, and all have been happy. Highly recommended.     Had phone appointments with them several times and they keep on not calling when we have the appointments. The service when calling in is horrible and the employees are not very kind or supportive. Very bad communication and no humbleness about their mistakes.

    They have always been super helpful and kind when my son or I needed them. We always had good advice from the practice assistants over the phone and/or got appointments in a timely manner when it was needed.

    I've been with this Doctors office for 5 years and I find them incredibly helpful. I really trust my GP there and have always been shown a lot of empathy. I've always felt I was listened to, and taken seriously. It can be difficult to find a fast appointment online but if you have an important issue and you call they have always made time(or you can more quickly book a phone appt with a doctor). I recommend this place to others. In the online portal you can also ask questions by email and these are usually answered quickly. I'm surprised by the negative reviews I have seen.

    Never go to this doctor!! Both doctor and receptionist are very unfriendly, not interested and not helpful at all. I broke my foot abroad. I was not allowed to speak to a GP and could not get a referral to the hospital without visiting, which was only possible after 1 week. Both the insurance company and the plaster room do not understand that I cannot receive a referral letter by telephone or email and therefore have to remain in a lot of pain for an unnecessarily long time.

    I have been living in Amsterdam for many years and finally found a perfect place to see the doctor when I need one. From receptionists that are very nice and welcoming to empathic and knowledgeable doctor. I would highly recommend this practice. Thank you.

    The assistant/receptionist did not realize that the phone was still connected and laughed loudly with a colleague about our conversation. Extremely unprofessional. Difficult to get an appointment and several doctors do not take complaints seriously. Not informed about drastic treatment and ordered the wrong thing. Only Doctor Van Steenkiste is a good doctor.

    Horrible place for expats. Have wanted to leave in tears every time I go. Got an extremely strange breast exam not even sure if the woman doctor did it right. I was rushed out within 10 mins and could barely discuss my issues. Changing doctors asap!

    I had a great experience. All the stuff was super nice and friendly. The doctor was super reassuring and emphatic. I think we solved my problem. Overall it was very fast. And the place itself looks super nice. I recommend if you are having any issues whilst staying in Amsterdam.

    Overall very friendly. This was my GP for the last 4 years and they took complaints seriously (compared to other Dutch doctors). I would also recommend to get vaccinated for your travels there. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable and explained the various diseases in detail.

    I went to them 3 times, the doctor was keeping saying that i did not had a specific issue. After the secondo time because i did not trust him i had to change doctor and in-fact the new doctor confirmed what kind of issue i had in mind. this is to say that the experience i had with a specific doctor here was very bad! I had to go 3 times to you before u really told me what issue i was, and basically i had to find the issue by myself cause your doctor was keep saying "no is not that i am sure". After i went to a specialist who confirmed what i had in mind, gave me the cream and everything was solved. Just to tell you that your doctor is an unqualified. The third doctor meanwhile that visited me at your place gave me the right cream and the 4th private doctor i visited also confirmed what issue i had. Everything could have been solved much faster.

    If you care about your health don't bother registering here because they do not care at all. They will ask you to check and report on your own symptoms online - shaking in bed from a fever and they don't care they just want you to report your temperature somehow without a thermometer, take a picture of your own sore throat, etc. The receptionists/doctors assistants are very rude unprovoked (no empathy or compassion) which is so wrong for this field/profession. Finally, they are not even on time for the appointments they set - you end up waiting over time and their messages to the patients aren't even clear. I can already expect a sarcastic response to this review as I see they do but this is my experience.

    Expert practice! Very nice that a lot can be done online, especially the “online consultation” to ask a quick question instead of booking an appointment. Nice assistants! Understanding! The only downside is that you always have a different doctor, but that is part of the practice. I see a lot of reviews about availability, but if I had something “acute”, there was always something available.
