We love Indian food and Shah Jahan does not disappoint. The flavors present in their food is absolutely excellent. The food is really delicious. We found the portions to be a good size as well. The garlic naan and the mango lassis were also great, will order those again next time we visit. The menu has a lot of options and there is a good selection of non meat options. Looking forward to going back!

Great food and great service! The Madras Curry and the Chicken Tikka were absolutely amazing. Of course, one could only recommend their fresh mango lassi with the incredible heat of the Madras Curry. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Great food, even my Indian partner loves it. However, beware of the vindaloo. It's no joke, even for a chili head like me. Service is nice and efficient but the place can get very crowded, especially at weekends. Overall, I definitely can recommend this place.

We had dinner at Shah Jahan in Oct 2022 while visiting Amsterdam, and it was the best meal we had on our entire trip (even after 10 days in London and Dublin!). We made a reservation for 8pm on a Tuesday night and were glad we did — it was packed when we got there, which is always a sign of a great restaurant. The set meals were a good value and a nice way to get a sampling of various dishes. We ordered two different sets (which was enough to feed at least 3 people) — our favorites were the palak paneer (spinach with paneer cheese) and the chicken tikka masala, but everything was truly fabulous. Mango lassis were delicious too — not too sweet and good yogurt flavor. If we lived in Amsterdam this would be a go-to spot for us. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

We went to Amsterdam from Brugge. We just called on time to reserve the table for 10person. Restaurant was full and people were waiting for the seats but our table was still reserved.. We had the delicious Indian food after long time.Service was good. Host was polite. Highly recommended for typical Indian authentic food lovers👍

Amazing dinner. Palak Paneer was outstanding, same with butha lamb and everything else. This was a lot of food, could have ordered 1 less and still everyone else would,have been full.

Went there with great expectations after looking at amazing reviews but was really disappointed. Service is average. Food is disaster. I order chicken biryani which was below average, it literally had bell pepper in it and also wasn't really a biryani, more of a steamed rice mixed with chicken. Seating arrangement is also average. Not recommended

A random pick for Indian food that was highly reviewed online. We walked up to a small restaurant and found all of the tables full. We were greeted and they said 15-20 minutes. As we waited, more want to be customers approached. We were invited in and while crowded, we enjoyed a fantastic meal of Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Grill mix and Cheese Naan. Slightly spicy and full of flavor priced very reasonably. A great find and I highly recommend. Service was outstanding too.

The BEST Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. Order from here literally weekly, and sometimes eat at the restaurant. Food is always exceptional and authentic. We are from Toronto and have access to authentic Indian cuisine - Shah Jahan is right there with the best. Highly recommend.

The hall can fit maximum 3 tables but they fit more than 7 tables. Toilet is directly next to table and every now down somebody flashes the toilet and you can hear and smell all. So disgusting…. I asked for a better table but they simply ignored. Terrible service…Food was medium to high but the atmosphere is so bad that you cannot focus on the food. Maybe delivery would be better option for this place however never again…

Very good quality Indian food, and a good portion for the price. Looking forward to the leftovers. The staff and atmosphere is the best part - very friendly. We also had mango ice cream for dessert - highly recommended!

As an expat from Birmingham in the UK I’ve really missed a great curry in NL. I’ve tried so many, and this is the first in 4 years where the flavour, and level of spice (I love properly hot curry) has made me feel at home. Believe the reviews when they say a madras is a proper madras. Got a delivery, so can’t wait to visit regularly in person. Thank you!

This restaurant is just so so good. We went in for dinner and had such a wonderful evening with great authentic Indian food. Give the vegan tandoori dish a try, it was easily one of the best Indian dishes that I‘ve ever had. Big recommendation. Reservation is a must, as there aren‘t so many tables in the restaurant. The staff is also great and friendly!
