This place is such a gem! Kristi and Craig are such a delight to meet and the food is extremely high quality despite being so affordable. I had the egg-less egg salad sandwich, some kombucha, chocolate crinkles, and even got to try some of Kristi’s pumpkin cookies (they were so soft and tasty - to die for). I overheard Kristi saying that they use fresh berries and I have no doubt just by tasting the food that they only use high quality, seasonal ingredients (another review mentioned the menu switching up). 1000% recommend this small business and I’ll make sure to stop back again!

I'm really glad I stopped in this morning to try something new. I picked a Wild Blueberry Crumble bar and a Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Coffee Cake. Both were delicious! Definitely makes me want to try more items on the menu. Seems like a wonderful addition to the down town area.

I got coffee cake, cinnamon roll, oatmeal cream pie, and an Impossible breakfast bagel. Everything was very tasty. The owners are very friendly and work efficiently. I came during a little rush and still got my food fast. Can't wait to go back!

I can’t even explain how happy I am I found this place! If you’re vegan and tired of not finding a good spot to eat you must try this. I got the veggie sandwich and also tried the breakfast burrito and they were both amazing! They were also so kind and welcoming. To top it off the carrot cake is incredible. Highly recommend and will be going back for more! 5/5

I have finally found my go to spot to eat! I arrived shortly after they started breaking down their kitchen. Instead of turning me away like any other resturaunt would, they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The gave me a few options and I decided to go with the black bean nachos. This was absolutely the best meal I've ever had. In my humble opinion this is the best food available in angola!

What a space! A cafe style, order-at-the-counter eatery, The Rooted Vegan is incredibly inviting with its spacious seating, lush greenery, and an impressive amount of natural light. Service is prompt and attentive, and leaves you feeling appreciated. Most importantly, the food is exceptional. I'm told the Pepper-Crusted Buddha Bowl is their most popular entree, and I can believe it. That dish packs more flavor into one bowl than the laws of physics should allow. I am also partial to the tofu Egg Salad Sandwich. If you don't eat eggs, you'll love it; if you do eat eggs, this might make you wonder why. Follow either of these dishes with a subtly sweet Pumpkin Butter Cookie. If you have someone to share with, consider an Oatmeal Cream Pie as well!

We drove from Michigan through Ohio just to try this Cafe and it did not disappoint. The peppered tofu vegetable bowls were perfectly flavoured. Kids enjoyed the nachos and smoothies.

Delicious! So happy to see a vegan place along our road trip. We got the biscuit and gravy, the breakfast burrito and the cinnamon roll. We ate everything up so quickly, we didn’t even take a photo! The cinnamon roll was my favorite :)

Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm in no way a vegan, but The Rooted Vegan did not disappoint. We got an assortment of meals & treats (breakfast burrito, walking taco, banana split bowl, cookies) and all were flavorful & satisfying. Furthermore, all the produce involved was fresh & ripe. I will absolutely be back, many times. My kiddos agree!

Great food and really nice and helpful owners. We had the breakfast burrito and some baked goods. The burrito was really good. Great flavor and texture. The chocolate chip cookie, lemon ball, and no bake cookie were all very good. My favorite was the chocolate chip, just like mom makes!! The space is also very nice and clean. It is modern and a local artist painted the mural by the front door.

Loved it! Food was so tasty. Hot salsa was excellent with blend of spicy peppers to give perfect flavor with heat. Desserts (cakes) were perfect!

The chickpea salad sandwich is so good, and it comes with chips and salsa and a pickle. The good morning sunshine smoothie was even better than I expected. The combination was very filling and I actually saved half of the sandwich and chips for later. So glad to have such a great new restaurant in town.

Outstanding and personable service. It was my very first time in and the lady at the counter was so patient with me. The atmosphere was fresh and relaxing. I tried the black bean nachos and my goodness they were great! I also tried their bakery items (lemon blueberry cookie). As I was leaving I was eyeballing their all of their other homemade goodies, and she gave me a vanilla cake pop too! I feel terrible for not getting the person who helped me, name. Overall 10/10 would recommend. Please go check them out!

What a great find in downtown Angola!! Huge menu with no shortage of sweet or savory options. The lemon blueberry cookie is amazing and the impossible bagel sandwich is just fantastic. I have been to vegan restaurants all across the USA, Ontario and Quebec and this place ranks right at the top!! Super duper service too. Whether you're in Angola or you're just driving through this place is a must try! Even if your not vegan - it's worth a stop!

I was really happy to find a vegan restaurant in such a small town. The owners were both working the morning I came in and were so friendly and kind. The chickpea salad sandwich and broccoli soup I ordered were both delicious and made fresh while I waited. I was excited to see they had smoothies with actual fresh ingredients, a big step up from the MLM smoothie store next door where everything was powder. I'm sure I'll be a regular now that I live in the area, though I do hope they find the growth they need to be open a little later (2pm closing) on Saturdays, which was my only even slightly negative impression.

Top notch experience! The owner Kristi was helpful in suggesting a menu item and accommodating my request to add/substitute ingredients. A Very friendly and genuinely gracious host. Added bonus in offering my guide dog a treat and respectful in her approach. The food was excellent made with fresh and clean ingredients. Highly recommend this establishment. Thanks Kristi!

I recently moved to Angola and I've been looking for quick and yummy lunch options close to work. Decided to check out Rooted Vegan since I'm a former vegetarian and love healthy options. The service was great and the food is outstanding. Ordered the Pepper Roasted Buddha Bowl and it did not disappoint. It was reasonably priced and a perfect portion. Definitely will be going back

hmm, where do i even start. well if i have one nice comment, the decor is cute. but other than that the experience wasn’t anywhere near good. first of all i couldn’t even read the menu the writing was so small. when i went to order the lady taking my order was very short with me and i felt like a burden. i waited for my food for 15 minutes. i didn’t even order that much. when they delivered my meal they almost spilled it on me. the buddha bowl was extremely spicy and they assured me it wasn’t that bad. why was the tofu frozen? i’m not sure. the cookies looked like they were in there for weeks on end. after eating at this “resteraunt” i had explosive diarrhea. will not be coming back.

What a gem! Stopped by on my way back to Chicago. Very much worth the detour. The Buddha bowl was delicious — as were the treats. I’ll make sure to stop by on my next trip. Healthy and delicious food, wonderful owners.

We stumbled upon this magical place by accident while antiquing, and The Rooted Vegan did NOT disappoint! As a vegan, it's always exciting to find somewhere that has an entirely vegan menu! We ordered three lunch entrees (there were only two of us, but we couldn't decide! 🤷🏼‍♀️😁)! Then before we left, we ordered four or five of the amazing desserts in the case for the drive back home! Everything was INCREDIBLE! We'll make the two hour drive as often as we can. The Rooted Vegan is a true gem! 🤤💚

A great little place in Angola, and one of our must visit shops when we visit NE Indiana. The cafe aspect is wonderful, with fully vegan breakfast and lunch options, and the baked goods leave nice stuff to take home.

This is a great little Food & Drink shop in Angola! The view of the mound is pretty cool and the Protein balls and Peanut Butter Shake were perfect! Shop local shop hometown! This place is great!
