We ate here our first night in Antigua. Found Casa Escobar to have wonderful food and ambience for a romantic dinner. We ordered a tomahawk steak which was cooked excellently and found both than and the sides (and even the sauces to garish) absolutely delicious. Would give Casa Escobar 5 stars easily if it wasn't let down by it's service. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to be an awful American here expecting servers to fawn over their diners but we visited on a quiet evening when there were only a few other diners and it took 20 minutes for our drink order to arrive and 30 (30!) for sparkling water. I would have spoken up to a waiter sooner but I was distracted by the lovely company at my table. Summary: Great food, let down by service, would definitely recommend for carnivores out there if you have the time and want a white tablecloth meal.

Marv is an excellent host. Very honest in his answers about the dishes that are on offer. This is more of a meat restaurant than fish. I chose the tuna. Thin sliced Yellow fin. Very tender with a fresh fish smell and taste. The chocolate brownie was very rich. The cocktails are good. The atmosphere and service suits the meal prices.

This place is INCREDIBLE. I think I visited for dinner 7-8 times in 3 weeks... I tried the brisket tacos, burger, a couple different steaks, potato soufflé and the basil mocktail. My favorite thing is the free bone broth they serve before meals though. Best bone broth I have ever had... And the service is also amazing. Marvin is the best!

Amazing fine dining experience! I dined solo at the bar and had a great time. Amazing drinks and the food was so good! Staff was super friendly! Definitely recommend in Antigua. I had the sangria with red wine! They give you delicious soup before your mea. I had the traditional soup for dinner and the fancy cheese with orange as a “side dish”. It was more than enough food for one person.

Excellent meal with very good service. We enjoyed a great selection of meats by ordering the parrilla assortment, salmon, salad, corn, croquettes, cream brûlée. We had a wonderful red blend from Argentina. In others we piggies enjoyed every last bite. Wonderful table where we enjoyed a scenic sunset

The Casa Escobar in Antigua is a unique experience. The menu has lots to offer, the meal was very tasty. I didn’t take pics of my food, but this church is across the street.

Excellent, especially considering the price. Party of 4 and we dined early on a Tuesday. Service was great but the owners were parked next to us working on their laptop 😀 Started with drinks - strawberry (good) and lime (great) daiquiris, mojito and negroni. Appetizers were cauliflower (wow), fondue (great but would have been better with the garlic bread we had later instead of the little bread sticks it came with.) For dinner we split 2 jalapeno mignon steaks (great but the spicy sauce placed on the table early along with pickled veggies and a tomato sauce was better), the antiguena soup (great), garlic toast (great), another cauliflower and some malbec. Too friggin full for dessert. All in including 3-4 drinks each was just under $200. Highly recommend. Pics are antiguena soup, mignon, fondue, cauliflower, strawberry daiquiri and the starter sauces and pickled veggies.

So, Casa Escobar Steakhouse in Antigua? Yeah, it's basically steak paradise. First off, the customer service? A+. They treat you like you're royalty. And guess what? They start you off with this complimentary beef bone broth – like, that's how you know you're in for a good time. Now, let's talk vibes. The energy in this steakhouse is on fire. Splendid and simple environment. And the steak – the quality is off the charts. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and basically a love letter to your taste buds. Oh, and let's not forget the cocktails. Those mixologists know their stuff. Casa Escobar is in a sweet location too, so it's a stone's throw away from your hotel and Ulew bar – like, how convenient is that? So, if you're in the mood for a steak experience that's out of this world, Casa Escobar is where you need to be. Your taste buds will thank you.

This place was amazing! Visited here my last evening in Antigua and decided to treat myself to a nice solo dinner. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is nice and pleasant, and the staff were very attentive. I got the 6 Oz sirloin cause I honestly don't eat much but I wish I had gotten bigger cause it was SO GOOD! had to talk myself out of order another steak it was just that good.

Very cool experience, a really nice place with great service. Some of the food was absolutely next level, and some was kinda meh. I admit I'm a bit of a snob about steak and the flank was very good but the prime left me wanting and was too chewy and fatty (ordered it medium rare and it couldn't have been much more than 125° internal. The shredded brisket appetizer was on point, and he cooked it right in front of us on a skillet, which was cool. Definitely the nicest restaurant in Antigua and the most romantic, but I bet you'd find better food from some of the other street restaurants. I recommend this place

Excellent food with a lively and upbeat atmosphere. The staff are helpful and they put on entertaining table side presentations on select dishes.

Delicious steak, great drinks and overall best vibe! Only thing is they forgot to give me my leftovers which I was surprised to see since I thought they packed it. Overall still recommend and will return.

A great place to dine - large portions of tasty food, that is well presented and served in a lovely atmosphere, with great music. They also have a comprehensive range of drinks. The service was fantastic - the staff were very attentive and helpful. This was by far the best restaurant I visited in Antigua and the prices were affordable. I will definitely eat there again when I return and would recommend this place.

Excellent meat/food and service. I highly recommend the Brisket BBQ as a starter and the Grand Tenderloin medium rare as the main course. Very juicy and tender.

Beautiful ambiance, delicious salad , excellent service. We were welcomed with a cup of broth that was delicious!!!! Nice touch. We ordered the Tomahawk steak , one of the worst steaks I have ever had. Don’t bother trying to eat this! It had no taste, full of fat, not cooked evenly. Very disappointed.

So this place is more style than substance from our experience. 1. Octopus tacos were great a stand out dish but the taco shells that they came in were not toasted and soggy a shame an after thought that impacted every mouthful. S shame as the warm octopus perfectly cooked octopus and sauce was delightful. 2. The steak in the steak salad wasn’t seasoned (how can you NOT season steak when cooking?) the flavor of the beef used was ‘ok’ mediocre and just ‘meh’ a shame. Condiments and soup offered as a complimentary gesture were actually the best part. Food is instagram worthy as are surrounding but the dishes as stated are more style than any real substance. A shame as everything else was on point! 3. The cauliflower presentation was amazing and real work of art but lacked body and depth. The white sauce seemed cheap and not very appetizing. A hint of chili and dash of acid (like perhaps) would have made the world of difference to this dish.

The experience here left a very good memory. The atmosphere is very nice and the staffs are friendly. The steak and wine were so delicious and everything was perfect. It is recommended to make a reservation for dinner time. A recommended place to spend special time with your loved ones. The view of the cathedral from the window seat is very beautiful.

We had such a beautiful romantic dinner at Casa Escobar. The view of the convent ruins dating back to the 1500’s and Acatenango volcano erupting in the background were amazing. The service is above and beyond and the food was delicious.

A perfect place for a special dinner in Antigua. - service here was exquisite, our waiter brought coat hooks, explained dishes carefully and was very well mannered but not uncomfortable to be around - My ribeye was cooked to perfection, the meat quality was very good, the meat had a great taste with its rosemary seasoning, it could have used more salt, burns that’s easily fixable - this steak will more than please any good steak lover and could feed two moderately hungry people. - we also had a chicken dish, the chicken had a delightful and tasty seasoning and was really good, with the Cesar salad and potato side tasting good. - the brownie desert was a large portion, with a rich, unique flavor to the brownie with great vanilla ice cream. All of our food came out to under 70$ for a dinner for 2-3. For the quality of service and food, this is a bargain. I can’t recommend this enough if your looking for something special and some good meat

Delicious food and drinks! Their lattes are great with or without sugar. I got the entraña importada steak medium well. For sides, the salad, mashed potaoes, and bread with garlic were my favorite!! The fries and the guac sides were great too. I would definitely recommend.

Late in the evening we managed to seat at Casa Escobar, while other places around were closed already. We were craving meat, and we ended up satisfied: we went for a gran lomo Escobar, that came (super fast) served on a plancha with onions and chili. Side dish, guacamole and baked potatoes. The meat was very soft and delicious, watch out the chili, it's really really really spicy (the waiter served me water first and milk then since my mouth was on fire). We ordered a Norton red wine from Argentina to drink along the lomo. 550 qtzl for two, a good price for a very good meal in the city center of Antigua.

Very nice restaurant. Best Steak house. Service was good, not excellent. Best to make reservations. We had dinner two times, first time the service was very good. On our second visit was not the same. We had the same waiter.

OG it was the best place we ate since a private chief in Sweden! We absolutely loved the tastes and presentation, have no words…prices just made me smile. A MUST while in Antigua Guatemala

Superb place to enjoy the King's Punch: a slow roasted, 12-hours tenderized wonder of meat, packaged into a beautiful little show. We had been there twice, and it was absolutely delicious experience, beloved by adults and kids alike. To our great surprise and for free they also made a beautiful sweet plate for our birthday girl just because she proudly exclaimed that she is now 6. Did I mention a romantic sunset over the scenic ruins of Jesuit church? Yes, we are definitely coming back!

This restaurant is excellent. The staff is super nice, attentive and welcoming. I visited on my first day in Guatemala and it raised the bar for what was expected for the rest of my trip. Having a delicious meal while watching a volcano spit out lava was so dreamy. I've never seen such an amazing site. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant for not only the food but the volcanic view!
