Great spot to get a good view of the city and take cute pictures! Don't do what we did though: Take the same way back because the paths that look like a trail don't lead to the city. You'll end up in a person's backyard in the woods and it's very awkward to ask them to go through their private property.

Easily walkable from town. Actual “hike” part is o let 10-15 mins and from town total is less than 30 mins. Well worth the view at the top. We were told to do this earlier to lunchtime and avoid closing as some issues with muggings

(Dec 2022) There's construction going on at the moment, likely for months, hence it is hard to see a proper view of the city. Even if you did, it is unclear if it is worth a hike up on a hot day. There is so much you could do in the city that is far more worth it (even if you randomly walk around trying local street fare!). If you keep going up a bit more, you get to the statue of an old Spanish general. Lots of locals sitting around, and enjoying fruit and ice cream. If you have nothing g else to do, checkout Hill of the Cross.

What a beautiful view of the city. I visited this site in 2018 before the remodel. The site is a must see when you’re in Guatemala. There are plenty of vendors with food and drinks, space for family picnics, seating for reflection, and plenty of spots for photos. If you’re up for a brisk walk, take the nature trail up to the top. It’s a breeze on the way down.

Going back after 4 years away, I was blown away by how different it is. Completely reconstructed to include some more accessible routes down to the cross (maybe intended for wheel chairs, but it’s still pretty steep). The patio below the cross is nice and has a map showing what you see in front of you. Tiendas line the path down to the paved area now and there are so many groomed garden/landscaping areas with lavender and other plants. It seems they’re doing some work to help with the rain water when it storms (I was told with heavy rain there isn’t a great route for muddy water yet). Overall, the adaptations are amazing and this continues to be a staple of things to do in antigua!

Just a short five minutes hike will take you to the breathtaking view to see the complete town of Antigua. The location of the cross on top of the hill has a strong metaphor of Mount Calvary.

You can get here by walking from the central park about 15 minutes walking. Then there are some stairs to get to the top, about 5 minutes walking. The view is amazing, you can see the volcanoes and the whole city from there. If you want to work out in the morning, this is a good option.

We went during the day in March and this was an enjoyable, easy climb up with rewarding views of the surrounding area. Regarding the safety of the area, I cannot speak for prior to sunrise and after sunset, but going in the day is safe. There is police presence and plenty of other people climbing it. I did hear from a local to watch out for pickpocketers, particularly children, but I did not personally see or hear of any event; just something to keep in mind.

Super clean, well maintained and very safe. It is a nice spot for sunset though they close at 6pm. Beautiful view over the city.

Super clean, well-maintained plenty of shaded spots to sit…lots of street vendor, selling food and beverages. A must see while in Antigua. There’s a building at the top of the hill where you can pay 5Q to use the restroom if you need to. It’s easy to walk back down, but I would recommend getting an Uber or a TUKTUK going up.

Nice view of Antigua. Very hot when it’s sunny and there isn’t much shade to cool down. Make sure to go during sunlight hours and it’ll be a pleasant experience. You can also either take a Tuktuk to the beginning of the walking path or all the way to the top.

Nice lookout point to appreciate the city and the volcanes, and take nice pictures, you can seat, or walk around.A lot of food vendors and craft vendors. Free washrooms on the side. Things to buy there are on the expensive side since all people that goes there are mostly tourists. We took a tuck tuck and he was very dishonest, from the bottom of Del Cerro he said 50Q and he will wait for us 30 minutes, when we got up there, he said you owed me 100Q for both instead of 50Q.I gave him a $50 and told him we were not returning with him. Don't listen to the tuck tuck drivers is plenty of transportation to come down the hill. Always inquire the price first and only pay once you are in the place. You can walk up but is a bit of a hill, and the sun is strong.Free entrance.I will recommend this place.

Amazing place to walk to or to drive to. 10 min walk but you can drive up. You have to pay for parking and bathrooms. But, know that around 5 they close all the bathrooms. Sometimes before. We were there 4-5:15 and everything was locked up. Some days and times are hazy so maybe go up a few times. Look to your far right to see fuego volcano.

Most of Antigua is very flat but this is a pretty good climb and the view is well worth it. Advice I received was don't climb after about 3 as there are sometimes criminal activities later in the afternoon. And the area closes at 6

Simply the BEST viewpoint in Antigua. Stunning views of the city and Vulcan de aqua. You can also see volcano fuego from here as well. Make sure you come early in the morning to avoid clouds and see clear skies. Also come at night because the sunset here is amazing. You can grab some souvenirs and granizadas up here as well. The hike only takes 15 minutes but it is very vertical. Some people also drive up but I love the workout. Perfect place to run as well. Bring your camera for terrific photos!

Incredible review of Antigua, arguably the best in the whole town. Seems very safe as well, although we left some sun cream lying around for 5 minutes and it was gone when we went to look for it. Luckily didn’t ruin the experience.

Amazing view of the city of Antigua and peaceful in the morning. Great hike and it’s best to go early if you can. Wear proper hiking shoes and don’t forget to bring bottled water and a rag. I got to the top of the hill around 7:30am. The only other people there were the park cleaning staff. The hours of Cerro de la Cruz are 7am-6pm and it’s free to enter. I went on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine it gets very busy and much hotter in the afternoon.

Looks further than it is (up the hill). Easy walk to a fab view across the city & over to the volcano. You only need about 40min max to walk up/down so you’d be daft not to see what it’s about if you’re in the vicinity

A nice spot from where you can have cool views of the volcanos that surround Antigua city and the city itself. Many people come here to do some exercise, like running, jogging etc… They sell some traditional food in little stands. we bought some fresh coconut water. It was perfect for the hot weather. They keep this place clean, we like this very much and also parking is perfect.

Great lookout point onto Antigua and Acatenango. It's a fairly easy 10 min walk up some stairs, no need for a taxi/tuktuk. At the moment there's work going on at the top so you cannot reach the actual cross on the hill. You're about 75 meters away from it. There's a range of little shops at the top for eating & drinking.

Beautiful view of antigua and Volcan de Agua, especially on a clear day. Took us about 8 minutes to climb the stairs, which were in surprisingly good condition. Once there, we met some nice locals who were happy to chat and take pictures of us. All in all, it's a must-visit for anyone in antigua, especially if you're looking for a chill 2 hour trip.

It's an amazing place! Well maintained, and hopefully, the people that visit just leave with beautiful pictures and leave only footprints. No fees to enter, but if you would like, you may leave a tip. We didn't ask why the tip, but we assumed it's to maintain it. They have some local vendor thay sell water up there. We were lucky enough to park near the entrance and walk up the hill or stairs. They do have parking all the way up top, so if you have a car, go all the way up so you don't have to pay Uber or other transportation. Once you park up top, you'll have to walk down to it. A must-see with your own eyes to believe its beauty!

Beautiful location to see all of the city of Antigua along with the volcanoes. You can see the very active one erupting every 5-10 minutes. It’s a very beautiful outlook! Upon entrance you can buy some snacks or souvenirs. I’d recommend to bring your family here for a relaxing day. Sometimes they have outdoor shows. About a mile walk up a paved stairway to see an incredible view of Antigua and the volcanoes surrounding it. There are signs installed on the viewing deck to help you identify landmarks.

A beautiful look out point with sunset views if you time it right! To get there it’s a 10-15 minute walk uphill, which is a bit tiring but there’s spots to catch your breath along the way if needed. You can tell a lot of work has gone into making this space nice- there’s a police presence for safety, wheelchair accessible paths, and signs/garbages to prevent litter. Great spot!

This place was amazing. It was sunny and beautiful to go on that small hike. The path was clean and it felt like a good place to stay and read for awhile. It is a little steep in the beginning but the rest is super easy! Worth it for sure for the views!

Nice view and different perspective of Antigua. I went there several times while exercising. At around 5.50 pm a guard will stand in the lower entrance and won't let you go in, so I recommend going there before.

Beautiful view of Antigua Guatemala with majestic mountains in the background. (Volcán de Agua) in the background. Interesting Guatemalan trinkets for sale by local vendors. One guy was selling little bicycles crafted out of wire. Love that cross.

beautiful view over the city, one man at the entry point wanted 20Q entry fee. But there is no official cash desk which is a bit strange... You don't get a ticket, so I don't know if this was a scam or not...

Great place to get beautiful views of the city and Volcán de Agua on a clear day. It's best to go in the morning for a clear view. A whole team of people can be seen early in the morning keeping the park clean and maintaining the landscaping. The perfect spot in Antigua to get some exercise in with a rewarding view at the end.
