What a delightful surprise to find absolutely delicious BBQ here in Antigua. We had a large group and went family style sampling all the meats and several sides. Stand outs were the smoked chicken and jalapeño corn. Highly recommend.

Looks and feels like an American BBQ house. The meat is a extremely tender, the taste is great, the sauces are tasty. The portions here are enough. A lot of fries come with it. The spare ribs are huge and full of meat, just very few fat. The drinks are good too. The staff is very friendly, they speak English and serve you fast. They charge 10% extra automatically as tip. Best meathouse I visited so far in Central America.

As an American who loves BBQ, they did an amazing job here. The only thing that was not correct was the portion size. Definitely not Texas size. But that’s okay since it was the perfect portion for me.

Great place in Antigua to have american-style bbq food. The burgers are very tasty, the fries super crispy and ribs very flavory. The portions are a bit small though. Price are quite high regarding to other restaurants but the quality is there.

This is by far one of my favorite places. Ever. I've been here multiple times and enjoy it every single one of them. It is not a cheap place if you're in a budget but I believe it's a must try. Burgers, ribs and pulled pork are all a great choice. Plus.. The wifi is great if you're sending email or catching up on some work..

I ordered the sampler plate. Brisket, ribs and chicken. If you asked me to rank which I enjoyed the most, I couldn't choose. They are all excellent. Haven't had BBQ this good in my memory. Cocktails are good. Service is excellent. I only plan to be in Antigua for a week. But I will come back here.

We were in search of a good hamburger, and we found an amazing one here. Not only were the meals we had amazing, we also enjoyed the amazing service. Fast, friendly, and lots of great drink options.

We got this Togo last night with a crew from Houston to compare bbq. We got a little bit of everything from samplers to burgers and every single thing we tried was awesome. The brisket was juicy and tender. The pork ribs were fall of the bone and delicious. The chicken was great. The burger (100 burger) was insane. This burger was huge. Their sauces are legit and as good as you can find outside the states. Definitely worth a try.

Just what I needed after a long hike. Great burgers, wings and nachos. The service was excellent from Sammy and Ron. Had a nice local beer too.

Wow. What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I’ve tried a lot of fantastic barbecue around Austin & NYC, and this place is up there with the best of them. When the owner mentioned his association with Lewis & Franklin BBQ in another review, I knew he knows his stuff. The brisket is some of the best I’ve ever had, as are the ribs. The fries are perfectly cooked & seasoned, the corn salad and cole slaw are rock solid too. The chicken sandwich is also one of the best I’ve ever had. I only wish I had another stomach to eat more. Run, don’t walk here.

First, really excellent service. From the greeting to seating, food delivery and follow up. Great team, great training. I believe my servers name was Sammy. A lady brought the food. Will go back. They were still serving food after 9, which is how I ended up there. I was hungry after a hike. It was so good I cleaned the plate. Will go back for proper BBQ and drinks. Have to see if they are as good 😉

Went hungover and the brisket burger cured me, the beef patties are delicious and have a beautiful crust. The brisket is packed full of flavour and falls apart, this is maybe the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The fries were seasoned perfectly and there was a huge portion. It is more on the expensive side to eat here compared to other places in the city but as a treat it’s perfect. Also the staff were so warm and friendly and helpful. Loved it!

SUPER good. I went twice and had the 100 burger first (pictured), which is excellent. Second time I had brisket burger which is also very good. Excellent fries too. Definitely pricey for Guatemala, spent about $20 for the brisket burger, fries, and a coke. But well worth it.

Ordered Big Boy Plate and it was super delicious. Meats are well made, the sides were good and the service is quick and attentive. We even returned the day after for another round. Reduced to 4 because some of my meat was served a bit cold, and the prices are bit expensive. But overall a very good experience!

Pretty good BBQ. Being from the UK a bit of a novelty but tasted like BBQ should. Would recommend for a big bite to eat. Different to anything else in Central America I came across.

After being in Guatemala for two months from Austin Texas I started missing Texas BBQ. Randomly walking the streets of Antigua I found Pappy’s. It did not disappoint. I had the pork rib plate. Didn’t need to use utensils. Finger licking good. Staff was outstanding and the views of Volcano de Fuego erupting amazing!

We had the sliced brisket, pork ribs and fried chicken sandwich, all of which where really good. We’re talking good for a bbq joint in the States not to mention a small town in Guam. The side of sweet and spicy corn was especially tasty. Special shoutout for the service which was excellent.

Really good bbq in Antigua, great fuel for before / after the Acatenango hike. Went here a few times and were really happy with the food and service. All wait staff are super friendly and accommodating. Yum ! Thank you

Excellent pulled pork sandwich and fries with a cold Gallo, good country music (and I'm not a country music fan haha), and great friendly service. Went twice in one week. Recommended!

We had just arrived in Antigua and were quite hungry. We opted for a more North American option and found Pappy's!! OH MYYYY!!! Owned by a Houston resident...one cannot possibly get more TEXAS in Guatemala!! The sauces, the wings, ribs, the sausage.. 100%! The coleslaw is amazing! The staff are SUPER friendly..the fun decor gives a laugh and a sense of "home"! EAT HERE...YOU WILL BE HAPPY!

Had the steak sandwich. I was very surprised at how much i enjoyed it. The bartender noticed I was trying each of their 3 IPAs so he came over and explained where they come from and what makes them different. Excellent staff all around.

Best BBQ you will try in town. Great beer selection. Amazing cheese dip with brisket and homemade tortilla chips. Super great service. Make sure you eat here if you are in Antigua!

I felt like I was in Austin, Texas when I ate at Pappy's BBQ in Antigua, Guatemala. Country music adds to the ambiance. The ribs and brisket was cooked perfect and the sauces were delicious. The restaurant is clean. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

Wow!!! This is the kind of meat that would make a vegan person rethink their life choices! This is not only the best BBQ I’ve ever had but probably the best meat I’ve ever tasted!! So succulent, tender and literally drips off the bone. Ribs were 11/10!! So good I went back twice in one day… oh and the sides were amazing too..

I ordered the 1/3 pound option with brisket and pork ribs, corn and slaw. American BBQ seems difficult to replicate for many places, in my experience. I thought they did a decent job, though there wasn't as much smoky flavor as I'd like. The quality and texture of the meats was good. The corn and slaw were okay. Service was attentive. The price was fair compared to the average price around town. A good option for American BBQ cravings, though they won't blow your mind. I would return again.

I 100% love this place and to be honest it was the customer service that I loved about this place in addition to the food!! Food: I had the brisket and a rib with two sides.I am surprised at how good the meat was I’m not going to lie.It was delicious. The green beans with garlic was scrumptious and lord I appreciate the Guatemalan flare in the baked beans💖 The Service:Shaggy and the lady behind the bar I didn’t catch her name were super sweet.Shaggy delivered exceptional service, the food came out quick , he was alaways smiling and making sure everything was up to par. I loved it here and highly recommend!!

Great staff, delicious food, good price. The knife was completely unnecessary to cut the 2 types of meat I had.

Some of the best smoked BBQ I've had anywhere. Very low prices compared to quality BBQ in the US. Maybe the best brisket I've had. Great atmosphere, perfect service from happy people. Yum!

All I can say is that the brisket burger is lush!!! Yes it may be a little pricey but you 100000% get what you’re paying for. Probably the best burger I’ve ever had tbh. Well worth splashing out for. Also the chips are really good & you get a selection of 4 different dipping sauces. Even the coke was great

I'll preface this with saying that I am Texan and the pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious. I think the sauce was a little bit more Kansas than Texas but the pork was so tender and delicious and the fries were great too! The reason I can't see myself going back was just the service. I was there around lunch time and it was just me and one other table. The server seemed too busy to notice me, and then when I tried to get his attention for napkins or another beer or my check or anything it took ages. I was just left alone. I wanted to order another beer and take food to go but I just couldn't get the service so I left and I don't think I'll be back and that's sad because the food has so much potential I wanted to try other things.
