Kudos to the photographer for the gallery photos. He made a 2.5 star resort look like a 4. If you don't like to climb mountains, don't stay here. Brutal walk to your room. Pray your room isn't on the 3rd floor. Anyone who posts the staff is knowledgable and helpful hasn't stayed here recently. The beach dogs know more than the staff. Keep looking. You can do better.

Place is far from Beach , across the road but all the rooms are closed in front of resort. Must walk up the side service entrance driveway. Main centre entry to resort is closed. This is also not a resort but hotel, no resort at all. No pool, no place to spend time, just a restaurant across road on beach. Breakfast was cold, buffet style, they were closing at 10 am just as we arrived which was to close at 10:30, so didn’t have much choice of food on second day. Walk is far from Main Street with beach restaurants and action. Paid approx 5500 baht for two nights, far too expensive compared to most other places not under Reno’s or closer to action.

No parking at all. We were told.we.needed to do an ATK test to even stay here. We did test and brought paperwork which did not ask for and when offered they did not care. Paid with a credit card and was still asked for 1,000 baht cash deposit. The lobby is on the beach, your room is up the mountain. Enjoy the nice hike with your bags...arrived sweating and exhausted.

Located in a nice area of the island Avatara resort has very nice, spacious and clean rooms. Opposite the beach with a nice bar and restaurant at hand too. But I would not recommend using it (Jeps Bar) as the service is terrible. I have reviewed this bar separately and given it 2 star rating Slight climb up a sloped road within the resort, which leads to the rooms, but it's worth the minor inconvenience. Plenty of storage space and really well appointed room

The staff at reception is nice and friendly. The room was fine the bathroom spacious but personally I did not like the design, it just crushes with the surrounding, it is like a 90s kitsch city style. The room was cleaned every day and the bed was comfortable. A safe and coffee station is available in the room. There is no lift to the rooms. The breakfast was just ok, some food was full of flies, the staff at breakfast was not so friendly.

Unfortunately, the pictures are more beautiful than the real thing... unfriendly and unwilling staff with little to no knowledge of English. In the rooms, despite the beautiful wall design, there is no seating for two...despite available space, not even in front of the rooms, you have to go down to the beach, everything closes very early, reception already at 8pm, the bar at 9pm at the latest, but before that everything is diligently cleared away, so that feels good :(, the air conditioning in our room was not soundproofed and there is no whisper or sleep level, in fact, we have just because of available alternatives right and left annoyed to have booked here... nevertheless, the beach is great and the food is mostly good...

. The hotel is a big building without lifts and there is no picture of it. Very long walk up the hill to the building. You have to cross a the busy main road to get to the beach, which is very dangerous with children. The The showers are either boiling hot or freezing cold. The Aircon is only very cold. The beds are hard as wood. There are insufficient beach chairs, so if you want one you will have to reserve them at 7 am. One of the worst hotels I’ve been in a while. 3% extra charge for using credit cards. The only positive rooms are nice, newly renovated and spacious and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The walk from reception to the rooms were just one of the downside of this resort. It was a steep hill road, and can be really tiring when you just wanted to get something from the room and back to the daybeds. For those working remotely, the internet was UNSTABLE and the data signal was pretty much non existent. POSTIVE: Perhaps the best breakfast buffet we ever had during our trip.

Rooms are really good. One of thr most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Good location. The only downside is the walk up to the rooms which was fine for us but may be a problem for those less mobile.

    - the hotel staff were not friendly - the room is a bit suffocated, there is a window in the washroom that can only see the roofs - the room is still under construction (some rooms), + the location is not far from the center (as my understanding) + the food is quite good (breakfast is ok) + the beach in front of the hotel is nice, you can spend time there a whole day.

Beautiful modern spacious rooms like in the picture. The shower was breathtaking with all the natural light on the "sun" department (they group up sides of the hotel buildings with names like sun and moon, etc. The breakfast on the beach was stunning. Beautiful view to start your day. The staff is very professional and quick to assist when needed. Very friendly people! There is a wide variety of Western and thai breakfast food. Also plenty of fresh fruit and sweets. To get to the rooms you have to walk uphill for a minute or 2. There is an outdoor shower there too to wash the sand off before entering your hotel room. On the other side of the reception is the quiet white sand beach and a really nice restaurant and bar where you can sit on beanbags and chairs on the beach for free. Very nice drinks too. Recommend the banana/vanilla milkshake. Walking distance from the more crowded Sai Kaew Beach. There are a lot of Chinese people there enjoying the seafood at night. There are plenty of restaurants at the beach side, mostly seafood. But the quality is not that special. The best place to eat we found was actually in the center. On the opposite of a bar, and then the most left handed one. Really delicious food and for a reasonable price. 80 baht for one meal dishes. Seafood and stuff for about 200-250 a dish.

Our lovely resort. We always stay here. The staff is adorable. The breakfast is tasty 😋. The sea is perfect 👌.

The room was ok, I can say that the pictures are a bit deceiving but we had a good experience. It’s ok for young people, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are not able to climb stairs or walk uphill. Breakfast is on the beach, which is nice. The fruit is delicious, everything else is average. Just a few tips to improve the hotel: - please install mosquito nets on windows, I would have enjoyed sleeping with the window opened - change the blue lights in the bedrooms, some other color is better (red or orange). Blue light doesn’t make you sleepy at all

The hotel is located just perfectly. Not in the middle of the restaurants and bars and noise, but still close to those (5 mins walk). The rooms are okay with air conditioning. Shower gel, shampoo, soap are basics, but they do their jobs. Hair dryer, fridge, safe are in the room. Unfortunately, from the reception area you walk at the back to reach rooms, it seems the construction of the hotel has not been compeleted. Lots of gekkos around, perhaps because of the mosquitoes. The breakfast is at the beach which gives amazing view meanwhile eating. The beach and the water are beautiful, you also get beach towels at reception to use.

We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of December in room 2308. Every night we could hear an animal in the wall and ceiling (probably a rat). By some miracle it got to the walls which are made of plasterboard and was running up and down, biting and making strange sounds. It didn't bother us from falling asleep, but every night I was afraid that I might wake up with a rat on my face. Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst. WE WERE ROBBED. After returning home, we noticed that we were missing several shirts, pants, sports towels and even bras! It's a pity we didn't pay attention when we were there, but who would have expected it?! They probably took several things during their daily "cleaning". We contacted the hotel and they had a very dismissive attitude and did nothing about it. We DON'T RECOMMEND this hotel! We have learned a lesson for the future and will always leave our things in a suitcase with a lock.

Clean Hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant (breakfast served there too) is located right on Koh Samet Beach, with Sai Kaew Beach and the 'Mermaid and the Child' monument in 5 Min. walking distance. The rooms are in a separated building about 150 m up the hill, behind the beach, in-land. My room was clean, has a cold AC, 2 bottles of water, Samsung smart TV (Netflix incl.), many different light switches for almost every light (11 total). The inside looks like a space craft, with 2 hugh windows, that can't be opened.

What a fantastic place. The rooms are very large spacious and clean. The shower is HOT and has 2 different shower heads. There was a walk up hill but we were aware of it and it was not bad at all. We would definitely come stay again no complaints here. It's right opposite the beach and it's a good beach. Very nice stay we had.

Not really a "resort" but more like a hotel block across the road from the beach. GOOD: big, clean, comfortable rooms; excellent semi-private beautiful beach only a 3-minute walk from the rooms; very good breakfast buffet. BAD: hot water comes and goes (at least in my room); annoying piped-in music at the restaurant and the beach area; slightly overpriced IMO; service can be a bit slow at the restaurant.

I have stayed in a couple of other hotels on Ko Samed but this is my favourite. I think this is my 3rd stay. I like it mainly because of the location. It is on the main beach but at the end so it is quieter. The rooms are clean cool and comfortable. They don’t have sea views and are up a slope and then there are quite a few steps to climb. This is why I took a star off the rooms. No easy access if you have mobility problems. Breakfast is in Jeps Restaurant with is right in front of the hotel and right on the beach. Breakfast is good and meals are available all day. I particularly like their pad Thai but we have eaten quite a few items from the menu and not had a bad meal yet. For a simple relaxing beach getaway this is excellent.

This is hotel is not on the beach. This hotel is across the street from the beach. Very average hotel. Rooms are all far from the beach 75- 200 meters. You will need strong legs to get up and down all the stairs and ramps. 4 floors. I saw no elevators. Good staff professional. I do not recommend.

Very nice Resort directly at the beach. Rooms a little bit behind. Perfect International breakfast. The rooms are really big and beautiful. Futuristic furniture and decoration. It is really worth to pay a little more!

Nice place Probably the best 4 star hotel on the island. We stayed north side for one night then moved here Glad we did. The restaurant is good, even though staff look a bit surley from time to time. Had a problem with the AC and they came quick to fix. If you're a family, the only super odd thing is that twin rooms are 3 floors up. So if you want to be close to your kids you're on different floors, which isn't cool. Thankfully our kids don't mind sharing a bed, so we were moved into connecting rooms when the kids protested about 3 flights of stairs. But why the heck serious you put 2 king beds in the interconnecting room? Surely they should have one king and twin singles between the 2 rooms? If that's the worst though, it's not bad.

It’s very nice hotel, but it’s a bit more expensive for its quality. I was there 3 times, but this time room wasn’t that clean and also it had a weird odor.

Not very nice to have damage list for room as one of first items you see upon arrival. Shower was very poor with hardly any hot water. Heard noises from water tanks all day and night. Had to ask for beach towels not provided in room but the damage list will tell how much you owe for them if damaged or missing

Amazing location, one of the best beaches to swim as well. Walking up hill to the room was fine for us, but might be tough for less-abled people. Restaurant on the beach had great food for a reasonable price. Breakfast was amazing. Shower in room lacked consistent pressure and heat.

Amazing rooms and I loved the hospitality. The place was amazing. The only part I didn't like was walking up hill to get to my rooms.. that was tough. But I will still go back again!

Lovely hotel meals on the beach just a completely relaxing place Food service was great first night as it was a saturday night however when it got to the monday no menus brought to the table as they were to busy talking to each other then took ages to get the bill for the same reason. All of the food every day was good and the buffet breakfast excellent.

The room was nice same as their pictures. Breakfast buffet offered variety of food. The restaurant also had great selection plus the amazing view by the beach.

Top choice in Koh Samed. Located on the beach with a very nice restaurant that also offers bbq during week ends!

Great location, about 15 min walking from the pier. 5 min nice walk at night to restaurants and cafes. The hotel restaurant directly at the beach with a lovely seating during the day and at night too. Very clean, good food and helpful staff. You can even book nice trips. Rooms are nice and clean but doesn't have a view. And it talks a not-too-short walk through an ascending road so I don't think it's suitable for seniors.

Got the price 3,300 THB quite expensive from the facility that hotel provide to me The room need to hike to the mountain. On the way back quite difficult to reach taxi back to the pier. I was asked staff to support after tried to reach taxi over 20 mins but staff said we need to do by ourselves

Really nice hotel. Great service great location and room was good. Restaurant on beach was also nice. There was an uphill walk to room but no big deal. Same with most in this area.
