The drinks are absolutely fantastic. So many awesome options you can see in the pictures I posted. The service is excellent. Free wi-fi. Very comfortable seating! Spotless bathroom. The tapioca pearls were excellent and the mango balls were tart and pleasant. Highly recommend the milk tea or the smoothie.

Solid spot for bubble tea, but the staff are just fine - not particularly friendly or inviting. And they regularly don't have boba ready when the store opens.

If you can’t tolerate cold drinks due to severe congestion, then this is not the boba spot for you. I have been a regular customer for over 3 years, due to a recent illness I can’t have very cold drinks. I went to order my regular once a month treat of a large Thai tea, almond milk, no ice, extra boba. I was told if i order extra boba I have to get ice. I told the worker I usually order without ice because I can’t have very cold drinks due to a condition. He said I was making them lose money and they can’t afford to sell me a drink with no ice unless it’s regular. I don’t want regular. If too much liquid was the problem, wouldn’t more boba be less liquid? BTW I am paying extra for more boba. I told him he was making no sense, more boba means less liquid. He told me I can get a regular but I can’t get extra boba if im getting no ice. If I could have tolerated ice I would have asked for 3 cubes. Makes me wonder how much ice do they really put in the drinks. Im highly disappointed with this service. I live 5 mins away but now im going to have to go further to a boba shop that can fully satisfy my needs.

I wish I could give this place more stars as their bubble tea and drinks are absolutely delicious, and they do have an awesome selection of different things to try on their drink menu. I've been here multiple times and I'll likely still come back, but depending on the day/time you go, be prepared as you could be waiting a LONG time for your order. Last time I went around 1/2pm on a Friday, and it literally took me 45 minutes to order and get my drink. There was a line of around 8 people in front of me and several others inside who already had drinks. So I did not expect it to take THAT long and I waited when I should have just left. It seems to me that they need to hire some additional staff to work during their peak/busy times, as I've only ever seen one person working there alone, and I've never made it out of there in less than 15/20 minutes. It would also be nice if they offered more snacks and sweets options as well. It looks like all they have is a couple slices of unappetizing pre-packaged cheesecake or pie. Overall they do have yummy drinks and are generous with the amount of boba in my tea which I enjoy, but I'd definitely visit more often if it was more convenient time-wise.

Update to my review: 5/29/23 For some odd reason I was trying to reply to the owner but I unfortunately don’t have my order number but I can share the order with you it was a strawberry lemonade with Leche popping a blueberry lemonade with strawberry popping and I had the mango butterfly drink with mango popping and we also had a chestnut cake I sincerely do not like leaving negative reviews and I was pleased up until this morning when I saw an additional charge on my cash app card for a tip. I specifically tipped a five dollar bill in the tip jar to avoid leaving the regular percentage of just a couple of cents. I definitely will change my review once this is corrected but I was very surprised because usually the service is great my kids love to go there so I don’t understand why $1.43 extra had to be charged you had already left a five dollar cash tip

It's a smaller space with some window seating and board games, so it's very cozy. I ordered a classic black tea, and it was brewed very well! Not too sweet, and the pearls were a great consistency (not drowning in syrup or too hard). Service was also pretty quick, and I found the price reasonable for the size of the drink. I also think they offer a discount or some kind of promotion for UMBC students. Would come here again if I'm in the area!

Order from this place multiples times. It’s a hit or miss with them. Lack of staff or something because some times drinks are like a 4/5 and other days it’s a 1(I order the same drink every time ) The night I order boba they got our drink order wrong completely and we didn’t drink it because it was that awful. Also the clear boba is not Tapioca base (stated they ran out of black boba when customers after us got black boba) , it’s like jelly textured . Giving it a 3/5 because they are really bad at consistency which is something that would boost their reviews higher. So hire more staff for evening shifts because it seems pretty active still at night and not have one staff doing everyone’s order .

Gone here quite a number times now, and each time the drinks are very aesthetically pleasing, and taste just as good. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is a tad bit loud, but the vibe is perfect for small hangouts.

The staff is fantastic. I am a newbie and had no idea what to order , and they recommended the perfect drink! They make the drinks fresh and even vacuum seal the top so no spills! They have a huge selection of drinks and coordinating Boba, they also have exotic snacks! I love this place! It's a super popular hang out for the college and I highly recommend!

The bubble tea and jellies are delish. I ask for a milk tea with boba and no sugar. I like the games especially the fishy game. Free wifi which is great. I like how different servers have helped my son pick a drink several times since he doesn’t enjoy boba. In general, it is a nice local spot I visit to support this local business. However there are several major things that need some thought. Nowhere are food allergies or ingredients noted, which makes dining difficult for families like ours. I like how some servers have shown us the tub so we can read the ingredient label and see if something is marked as gluten free. People with celiac beware at Taste Tea. There is often a long line and a long wait, especially when servers stop to chat with friends instead of making the drinks for the ppl waiting. There is one person only, which puts the onus on them to ring ppl up and also make the drinks. I can’t ever stay long because it is a small space and sometimes when I’ve gone in the music videos are blasting or there’s lots of people inside. I dream of sitting and working there like I would a cafe, but it is way too loud for me to accomplish anything productive.

Fast and exactly as ordered. Staff were friendly and helpful. Love that I can get a just-slightly-sweet taro smoothy there. Also, the boba has a good texture, not too firm not too soft.

The mango smoothie here is so delicious. I always order that, and they never disappoint. The feeling is indescribable when you get done playing sports on a hot summer day and drink some mango smoothie from taste tea afterwards. THEY NEVER MISS.

I come very often just because of how great the environment is! It is always welcoming and I've never had bad customer service. Although it is pretty far for me it's worth the drive:)

Wish I would have double checked but they have always gotten my order correct. Didn’t realize my tea was missing the mango jelly until I was almost home. Still love the place but would rather not pay extra for an incorrect order, especially when it’s early in the day and they aren’t busy.

Guh describes the place for me. My wife and I came here. Her drink looked like Taro Bubble Tea but it was more like purple skim milk. My drink was okay but too many ice cubes and the ice had holes hiding some of the boba from me. We didn't stay long but for the short time I was there the seats looked like they needed a replacement and it was a bit too humid for my liking. At least the staff was nice and chill.

I was hoping to try out a bubble tea place that is closer to my home. 1st time was great, literally had no issues. 2nd time, the employee told me that he could not put light ice in my bubble tea, despite that being an option on the ordering platform. Today, I drove here after work, hoping for a refreshing bubble tea, only to order, pay, then be told there is no boba. A bit disappointing. I will go back to my regular place from now on.

Very good service and the coffee boba with oreo crumbles was tasty. My only complaint is how hot it was in there, no air conditioning. I feel sorry for the workers!

We go here regularly and have had good experience every time! Staff is friendly, drinks are good and consistent. Love this place soooo much! I’m crazy about the fruit tea, so refreshing and healthy. Not super sweet! They also offer the many different options which the most places don’t! Definitely gonna come back more.

EDIT: I was reached out to shortly after leaving my review and met with an explanation and apology. I definitely appreciate the quickness in responsiveness over this issue. Service is terrible. Workers were talking the entire time while taking my order and not being attentive at all. They messed up my drink, discussed it amongst themselves, and then called my order as if they didn’t mess it up. This is sadly the only bubble tea place near me and the drinks aren’t bad but I wouldn’t recommend coming here solely due to the terrible service. I ordered a drink that was suggested to me the last time I came which I really liked. I ordered it again today and the 3 workers were just talked to each other while I ordered and while they were making my drink. It took a while which is fine but once they finished making it, they noticed something was missing but served it to me anyways. I didn’t realize at first since I have only gotten this drink once but I noticed it since they were whispering about my drink after it was made. They clearly forgot the jelly in the drink but decided to serve it to me anyways but I didn’t notice until I left.

The service was friendly and the shop is very clean and not overly loud. I ordered the Peach Yukult. It was so so good. It had lime slices and was perfectly balanced. But the second time I went in, a young gentleman made me the same drink and it was so different. No limes, and it was very dark...not like the first one.

Terrible service bad food price is a scam compared to what you receive I ordered a crepe cake for 8 dollars and received a tiny one bite piece of a cake. Definitely not worth it.

I am just not into bubble tea. I keep trying it and I just can't do it. This was the best spot that I've tried though. If you like it then come here. It was a very cute spot.

This is one of the best establishments to ever grace downtown Arbutus. I’ve been visiting Downtown Arbutus for 20+ years and I’ve always felt they needed a place like this. The atmosphere is perfect for what they serve and for the people who enjoy these type of drinks. Whether they’re busy or not, have 1, 2 or 3 people working, they get drinks out fast and efficiently. My wife and I DoorDash this area and get a lot of orders. The staff are always on point with every order, even at when the store is packed with people. We finally got to try some ourselves tonight and we were not disappointed at all. Perfect Milk Tea with Black Boba. I got the Taro, which I’ve had at places before, and this has been the best I have ever had. Easily. My wife got the Jasmine Green Tea and I tried it myself and although it’s not usually my kind of flavor, I liked it. Very unique flavor. My wife loved it and said that she had never had one so unique and rich before. The Boba were perfect consistency and flavor. I also want to point out the cups. They have a very cool seal on the top to prevent spills. It not only comes in handy for when we deliver their Teas through DoorDash, but I like the way we were able to keep our cups sealed until we got home. It’s a very nice little touch to an excellent product. You just punch that fat straw through and you’re ready to go!!! Thanks for gracing Arbutus with your awesome drinks, Taste Tea!!!!

I love this place, and the drinks are pretty good. Today when I was ordering 2 tiger brown sugars with boba, they took my order and I paid. They told me the brown sugar ran out, so instead I ordered mango milk tea with lychee and passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. I paid $18, the same price as the 2 tiger brown sugars, and instead got mango milk tea with lychee and passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. So I feel kinda upset I paid more for drinks that cost less. I also don’t get how expensive the drinks are, because I also used my 15% off VIP card, so I don’t get how it’s still $18. Overall this is just a minor inconvenience. I will still always order here tho! (Reply) : it’s good but was my drinks worth the same price as the brown sugar?🧋

I went in after hours one time by accident and they still served me with amazing attitudes. Loved my drink (Thai Iced Tea with Black Boba). I come back all the time now. It’s amazing service every time!

Just entered my freshman year at UMBC and found this place during the first week of school. I study there frequently now and it’s always a fun time. Drinks are cheap and they have good service 👍

I just want to start off by saying this shop is great overall. The staff is polite, quick, and efficient. You can go with friends and play games while sipping your boba or while you wait for your order. It is a nice experience. However, every time I go I have realized they fill their cups up with boba for free which is another pro. But on top of the boba you get a cup full of ice making it hard to enjoy every sip of whatever toppings you got due to the overload of ice so when all the liquid is gone you have lots of boba at the bottom but the ice is in the way so u kinda have to work for the boba 😂😂. Of course you can ask for less or no ice but this is the only shop that uses a ton of ice in their teas. The ice also takes away from the flavor of the beverage by watering it down. They have the potential to be the perfect boba place if they lessen the standard amount of ice in each cup. The atmosphere is great, the customer service is great, and the snacks they offer is great. But again the beverage quality could be that much better if they put less ice.
