The most busiest area in Athens, there is lot to see and explore. Local market selling antiques, food products and clothing.

Incredible vibe right in the heart of the city, where everything is at your fingertips..... shopping, bars, restaurants and more. Day or night, it's the place to be.

Nice square. Very busy. You get a good view of Acropolis from here. There are a lot of cute shops round this square. We found some unique souvenirs here. Bustling area, full of nice shops & eateries but would recommend not visiting with kids after sunset.

Nice place with great history! Amazing views from the square to the Acropolis. However it tends to be really busy especially at night.

Santorini will always be Santorini but it gets overcrowded with tourists, of which I am one, and it has been over- commercialised by those wanting to make a better living for themselves. To see Santorini take a bus tour and see the island before wandering the narrow rocky paths and byways.

It's a nice square to go to if you are visiting Athens. It is very accessible by metro or with the 'Grey line hop on-hop off bus'. When you go there, you have a very nice view of Akropolis and sometimes you have some life music as well. There are also plenty of souvenir shops (and other types of shops around) so you will surely find something you like. The only downside I found is that you have lots of people trying to sell you stuff you didn't ask for, or even directly putting an wristband on your hand, telling you it's free and then later asking you to pay for it. And be aware of pickpocketing Overall, a very nice experience despite these last 2 things :D

Sehr belebter Platz mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und verschiedenen Souvenirladen. Im Hintergrund die Akropolis. Man muss auch hier durch um dort hinzugelangen. Die Metro fährt hier ab sowie Bus und Taxi sind ebenfalls verfügbar.

Best place for staying in Athens. If you are looking for halal foods, there are plenty of restaurants here. U can get foods in cheap price. Moreover, night view of this place is so wonderful. Also u can get varieties of souvenirs here.

Wow! Borders on the ancient Athens Center. Hadrian's Library, Temple of Hephaestus, Parthenon, are just a few of the sights to see. Also the Monastiraki flea market, shopping precinct, are a great experience!

The square itself is quite small but there are many gift shops leading from different streets. It’s a great place to buy souvenirs, but check out each shop before purchasing something because you’ll most likely find the same item at a cheaper price. Be mindful of surroundings and certain vendors who try to give you “free gift” because they will end up asking you to give them money if you touch something. The food downtown is WAY overpriced and not that great. You’ll know if the food is good if there are locals actually eating the food. Try not to fall for restaurant owners who are tourist hunting because most likely the food is not worth your time or money. Otherwise, it’s a great spot to visit while in Athens.

Nice place with a lot of souvenirs. Very close to the metro station. A lot of people. There are so many different stores. You can see the Parthenon from here as well. Fun place to see and buy things.

A very busy place too many people but had us surrounded by a lot of nice restaurants the atmosphere at night is cool you will have a good experience. Is a most to stop, eat, shop and experience the place.

The tourist hub of Athens, always busy and good fun. Beware the restaurants are dearer ('cos of view) the gift shops a little tacky. For better value and a good choice of restaurants head up the road that goes around the Acropolis.

If you visit Athens, Monastiraki square is a must. From there you can walk to Plaka and forget the hectic rhythm of the modern city. You can enjoy ancient greek sites and get a view of the Acropolis. However, if you like crowded areas, start exploring later during the day.
