Christmas decor in Syntagma is up!!! Very festive and the decors are beautiful. Christmas is truly in the air. Check it out at night or before 7:00 am when the lights are on and it’s extra special!

A legendary place that is a must if you are in Athens. As well as being beautiful and ancient, like everything in Greece, this place is filled with so much modern history - we've seen it filled with people protesting for various causes, and when you see it empty and peaceful, there's something mysterious and as if it's temporarily 'silenced'. But you never know...

Beautiful square with a water fountain. Metro brings you directly here. Great meeting spot. If you’re lucky you’ll catch some dancers. Surrounded by tourist attractions, great hotels, restaurants and shops.

A good landmark to remember, and was beautifully decorated for Christmas and popular among locals and tourists. An important point for bus stops (X95 express bus to and from Athens airport) and a metro station. Hellenic parliament and many important buildings are nearby.

This square is just next to Syntagma train station and is a relaxing spot to hang out for a quick coffee. The stairs are a bit dirty so do not sit.

We have visited Syntagma square during Christmas holiday, and was nice atmosphere. It is nearby the Parliament. Don't expect for Christmas markets there. It is nice to pass by if you are there, but there is nothing much to do. It is located near Ermou street where all the shopping's and cafes located.

Just a square full of all locals sitting around and talking, lots of teenagers around. Not a place to visit but if you getting on or off the metro then you will pass though and experience a bit of local life. The fountain is nicely lit up at night.

Looks lovely with the lights, and the Christmas tree is very impressive. Very busy 90% of the time, so watch your belongings, but it’s worth a wander. Lots to see for kids - last night Santa was there, with Mini and Mickey mouse, the paw patrol guys, balloon makers, elves and clowns. Since it’s the main square in Athens centre it’s easily accessible from public transport, and food/drinks wise there’s lots around too.

Syntagma Square is a very conveniently located public space, which you can reach from the Metro station. We went during Christmas period, and the area was brightly decorated with Christmas lightings and was bustling with activities. There are some buskers around, which makes the area very lively. There are some other street sellers who try to sell you unnecessary items such as balloons, but as long as you politely decline, everything should be fine.

This was a really great place to be in with my family when I first arrived in Athens. They had a bus line coming all the way from the airport to Syntagma Square. Wouldn't recommend going to the hotels nearby, it's up to 100€ a night. I suggest trying to find an airbnb or a hotel away from the square, it's much more affordable! Have a wonderful day🙂👍.

The centre of Athens and your starting point to step off. Trams, Trains, Bus or by foot. Free wifi in and around the square, should you require it. Short stroll to Plaka for food and markets.

The square in Athens center, connected many famous views. If you traveled by bus, be awared they have no English Announcement and Stop Names. You have to guess or used Google Maps to tracking. If you lost in somewhere, prohaps is a good chance to find new views. This is a city get views everywhere.

It's not recommended to visit. Athens and it's people as well. Very discriminating ,disrespectful towards tourists and people in general. People ignore you constantly and they look mostly to the ground or not searching eye contact. The customer service in general is really bad and rude dictating behavior is very normal. Somewhere I saw written on a house wall "tourists go home. Well yes,we'll be glad going home ,even those who work here as such behavior isn't wanted and the Greek economy will be sharply go down. You just need thise people treat in the same way!!! I tried in the supermarket. The women serving at that day and time was visibly very annoyed! If you don't want to have this experience,I advise to buy something at the Indian and Pakistani stores as the stuff there is more friendly and not rude.unfortunately there are few people who coped that behavior. It is necessary to wear the head up and be more friendly! I will not come again and even in Moscow at very cold yesterday people are more friendly! It's best solution if you have a cat and /or a dog as they give you nice attention and as they are happy when they see you. You should order your dinner at home so that you can have good mood while taking your dinner. There are many drug addicted and alcoholics already because of this behavior.

One of the busiest spots in the Greek Capital. Crowds around, small waterfall and fontain, a meeting point, a cross of ways, main hotels here. Life here is never slow

This is where you go to get your discounted bus and Metro passes with your photo card that you can load anytime you want to add more trips on. Metro bus x95 was only $2.75 from syntagma square to Athens airport. Only a 7-minute walk to the plaka for shopping and dining outdoors.

Syntagma is the central square in the center of Athens. Next to it you will find Ermou and Kolokotroni St. Ermou is the grand shopping street of Athens with a multitude of shops and clothing chains. Kolokotroni is the Athens old market street with small traditional shops run by individuals most of which are second and third generation shopkeepers, that focus on the customer offering a higher quality of goods and level of service. And if you really want to get to meet the locals, go to Coffeestop (25 Kolokotroni St.) where Leonidas is always waiting for you with a smile 😊

Syntagma Square in Athens is the most central square of the Greek Capital, the city of Athens. There is a beautiful fountain in the main place of the square and a big amount of trees all over around Syntagma Square. For the visitors of the square there are many benches and areas for resting with shade especially in the summer months of the year. Syntagma Square is a must visit place for everyone visiting Athens any time during the year!

It was fun there. Not very clean. There was some kind of concert going on there but not sure what. Disclaimer: All my reviews are true and correct only for the time I visited the place and also only for the specific visit. They also express how I experienced the visit there and not the collective opinion of the company I was with.

Interesting place, not so large as the squares in other Eruptions cities, but cozy with small Fountain and metro station.

Syntagma (Constitution) Square is an interesting spot for its diversity. While on the one hand it's known for hosting significant open air cultural events, expos, concerts, buskers, exhibitions and the like, on the other hand it's a rallying point for the many and varied protests which can take place in Athens. Similarly it can be a relatively peaceful respite from the busy surrounding metropolis and yet be rather typical, replete with pollution and some of the downtrodden who suffer in poverty. One might argue this is rather typical of any big city but, in any event, do visit. Even if there's nothing remarkable happening at the time, you can take a moment to relax, before or after strolling up to see the Evzones nearby, guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The heart of Athens and also the heart of Greece! This is your main hub along with Monastiraki for the Metro system of the city. Be on the lookout for the presidential guard! It is something similar to the queen’s guard in London and the change of guard is definitely a sight to behold!!

Very busy place as the metro station exit leads to this area. You could just chill here and enjoy the view. Surprisingly it is quiet refreshing and fun. Walking down the stairs and heading straight leads to the city centre where there are plenty of shops and restaurants (few halal ones too)

Wide street. Busy and full of shops, cafe and restaurants. Syntagma Square is known for hosting significant open air cultural events, expos, concerts, buskers, exhibitions and the like, on the other hand it's a rallying point for the many and varied protests which can take place in Athens. Nice in the evening with the lighting.

If you come to Athens Greece for the first time, Syndagma Square is perfect to stay until you're off Island Hopping. It is the meeting place to historical attractions around Athens. There are many tours that offer sightseeing to historical sightseeing; but also a bus that take you to the beaches that are organised for many water sports, entertainment and swimming.

The Syntagma is the main central square in Athens. It's adorned with a nice (but not well maintained) park in the middle and the imposing Neo-classic Parliament edifice dominating. The best thing you can do here is watching the Parliament guard change, take some pics and that's it

  • 5/5 Bridget 2 years ago on Google
